Hays County is moving forward with plans to build a bridge over the railroad tracks at Centerpoint Road in San Marcos.

The $49 million project would eliminate the street-level crossing, widen Centerpoint Road and add pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. The federal grant will cover about 80% of the cost, with the county and Union Pacific providing the remaining $9.8 million.

Design work and property acquisition are underway.

River Kayak Shuttle Service

Any recommendations for a shuttle service for folks with their own kayaks? Looking for someone to pick me and my kayak up at the take out so I can paddle to my car. I usually put in pretty early and it seems a lot of the more popular businesses work with rentals and set business hours.

Pet Adoption Abandoned friendly cats need a place to go

moved into an apt and the former tenants abandoned their cats when they left, the first 2 cats pictured seem to be bonded and were indoor/outdoor cats i'm told, the last cat (black) may just be a stray i'm not sure. either way they're all fixed and super affectionate and will let you pick them up. i would adopt the first 2 myself since they sit outside my door & meow all day and night, but i'm very allergic and travel often for work. i think the first cat is a boy and not fully grown yet, 2nd cat is a girl i believe and youthful, 3rd cat is also young. mssg me if you or anyone yk is interested in fostering or adoption ty

Ask San Marcos Dog Groomers for Reactive Dog

Hey y’all! I was trying to figure out if there’s any groomers in town that would accommodate a reactive doggy. She loves people but she has a hard time being around other dogs. I’m usually the one that bathes her but I’d prefer to take her somewhere where they blow dry her hair, clean her ears and express her anal glands. Shes a staffy mix and a cutie pies so if y’all have any suggestions im all ears!

Jobs and Employment Jobs nearby?

Hi! I'm a freshman at Texas State University, and I'm new to town. I'm having trouble finding a job. I applied to a bunch on Handshake, but it was a while ago, and I only heard back from one of them, which was a rejection. I also applied for Chick-Fil-A in the LBJ, and got an interview, but they rejected me as well. In addition, I applied to two different positions at Target, and my application was rejected for one of them, and the other is still under review. I'm just wondering what places I could potentially apply to. I don't know town that well, but I am in walking distance to the Square, if that helps. I applied to Kerbey Lane Cafe, still waiting to hear back. I don't have a car, so places I can walk to or catch a bus to would be preferable. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Food and Drink Why are there no cool bars in the Austin/SA area???

(Posting on multiple subs)

Baby here, turning 21 in September. I want to visit some cool/interesting bars around the Austin to New Braunfels area, but I am so disappointed by what I can find online. Even Dallas is cooler than this. I would've thought Austin bars would have more themes or personality, but it seems like they're all just bars? I would love some recommendations if yall know of any cool spots. I'm not looking to just go get drunk at a bar; I can do that at home. I want to enjoy the atmosphere and creativity. Sorry if I sound pretentious, I'm just surprised. All good vibes here!

Edit: yall I posted in this r/Austin and holy shit did I anger the locals

Pet Adoption Rehome Cat

Adoption Fee: $50 (just to make sure she goes to someone with good intentions)

I unfortunately need to rehome my cat Oona.

Oona is 1 yr 3 months old. I adopted her from a shelter. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.

She is really friendly, loves to cuddle, and loves to play. She loves being groomed, especially her face. She does well with bathing, having her nails clipped, teeth brushing, and wiping her paws, and cleaning her ears. She is not one to bite, scratch or hiss either! She is good with other cats (of course with acclimation) and kids, as well. She also does not tear up furniture (she's always had access to a scratching post).

Oona also is very smart and loves cat puzzles with treats involved and likes looking out the window.

The only behavior she has is being very food motivated. She will eat almost ANYTHING, even if stuff cats typically don’t have a palate for. She especially loves rubber and plastic packaging, even if it doesn’t have the reward of food inside. She is also smart and very good at finding such things, so it’s important to keep items like that inaccessible. She is not food aggressive and won’t bite or scratch over it, but she should be fed separately from other cats cause she will eat their food first then her own.

There was no wallet/ID. If you can describe the purse or tell me what kind of car the keys belong to, I will tell you where it is sitting.

River River advice!

I want to take my dog to the river and even though I have been in San Marcos for a while I know nothing about the river. Where can I enter at? Where can I park ? What can I and cannot bring? I did see somewhere that they have to stay leashed but that’s all I know.

Shopping 💸 Fallout merch or figurines

Does anyone know where I can find anything Fallout related such as merch or figurines or comic books. I already tried Alpha Strike Games, Dragon’ Lair, & Comic Relief, unfortunately they don’t have anything.

Or if anyone is selling something related, I’m willing to go to new braunfels or Kyle.
Thanks in advance
