Bug Help They hotfixed the map bug for Xbox, but what about PC?

Upvotes

I can't be the only one still crashing every 4th time I open the map, right? I get the impression they think it was just an Xbox problem. Did they release a fix I missed for PC? Are all PC users having this problem? (technically I'm on a Mac running Steam via Crossover—not sure if that has anything to do with it)

Illustration of my frustration included above.

Markarth special jobs bug

Upvotes

Okay, I've ran out of ideas. I can't get Silver Lining to start. I've done 7 jobs in markarth and Delvin won't give me the quest. I tried going straight to Enden to start it and he doesn't have dialogue. Just gives me the typical greeting or random statement all npcs say. I've already completed the Windhelm job and I've noticed that despite completing it, I still get the dialogue option every once in awhile to tell Delvin I've compwlted it. I don't know what to do now. I'm on Xbox and the only 2 mods I'm running that could effect the thieves Guild quest is "Choose guild jobs with bets" and obviously, USSEP. I can't disable it or it'll break my game due to the vast majority of my load order needing USSEP so... What can I do?

Modding Skyrim paid mods=brawl bug

Upvotes

After checking out a good portion of the trophy friendly paid mods on ps5 ive noticed almost all of them cause the brawl bug soft locking portions of the game like the thieves guild and some followers requirments. Does anyone know if there will be any fixes to these mods or if Bethesda will just actual put the brawl bug fix into the official game?

Dealing with the new update

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I realise this has probably been written down somewhere already but I can't be screwed going and scrolling to look for it.

I've been away when the new update came out. Obviously I have a couple 100 mods enabled on skyrim and wondering what the go is with the new update and how to make it compatible

Question Skyrim Alduin Statue Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hello! I’ve been eyeing the iconic Alduin statue for some time now, and through browsing, I’ve seen a lot of variations of the statue, are there 3rd party/bootleg versions of it? The original has a reddish hue to Alduin does it not? I’ve noticed some of them have very flat looking coloring on the word wall.

(First pic is what i believe to be original, second is the lower quality one i see sometimes)

Discussion Just completed the game for the first time

Upvotes

I first played Skyrim around about the time it came out, on PS3. I then, over the years, put 90 hours into it on Steam. Never finished it. Then bought it again for the special edition on Xbox One, played the shit out of it (I thought) but still never finished.

Well, had an itch the other week. Bought it on sale, downloaded a shit ton of mods, and after 60 hours completed it alongside so many other quests I never played before!!

Anyone else leave it quite this long or just me? I don’t even know why it took me so long. I often suffer from wanting to do EVERYTHING on a map (thanks Ubisoft), but decided to abandon that philosophy for this playthrough

I’ve done dawnguard, is Dragonborn worth it?

This has really re-invigorated my love for singleplayer games lol

Discussion Favorite Unarmed Killmove & Race To Play As For Unarmed Builds?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

For me it’s my current character Andralia a Altmer Necromage Vampire build. I do know Khajjit do make the best unarmed combatants, with their claws. But as I play on a lower difficulty for more superhuman lore accurate vampire shenanigans there’s not really a difference that much. And my favorite unarmed killmove is the choke slam or the unique one time heart chest rip out killmove you do. Although the Dentist appointment one is fun too.

Finally Back On My OG Save

Post image
7 Upvotes

I am so happy that I am finally back on my PS3 with my original save of the game. I haven’t played on this console since 2019 (essentially, I played one day that had an auto save in 2023) and after that, I had left my PS3 in Texas with my in-laws on accident.

I finally got it back, and after spending time on my Xbox to do a Magic gameplay, I am officially back to my Melee save!

I was also lucky enough to get this 2008 Panasonic TV for free, so I feel very nostalgic all over again.

Just wanted to put that out there!

Question Building a big team

I'm a Xbox one player and I wonder if I can make a "wonderful" team who will follow me.

So My main follower is the goat J'zargo, but I don't have him yet on this playthrough. I use the mod who give me the Kynreeve Kahl as a substitute follower, and for fun I have a skeleton archer I found in the houses given in the Creation Club
My question is : is it possible to have J'zargo (an humanoid), Kahl (a follower but works as an invoc so i don't know if i can have both), this hilariously cute skeleton, and probably a dog ?

Thats my main goal right now but I can't test this rn so I ask this here.
Thank you

Question What is your favourite conjuration summon and why?

Familiar, Flaming Familiar, Flame Atronach (or Thrall), Frost Atronach (or Thrall), Storm Atronach (or Thrall), Dremora, Seekers, Boneman, Mistman, or Wrathman? For me, I prefer to use the Wrathman, as I prefer Necromancy over Daedric Summoner, and I feel that, without mods, the other summons are just too weak to be usable

Question Unable to update to 1.7.99.0

Hi, I'm unable to update to 1.7.99.0 on Steam. I'm currently on version 1.7.104.0. I just found it weird. Obviously I checked on steam for an update available. I checked my game version by right clicking on the .exe and it states 1.7.104.0.

Stealth Archer

Post image
0 Upvotes

When I first started playing I was heavily into illusion magic. In the hundred plus playthrough I've done I've done just about every class I can think of (please challenge me I'm bored) I've rarely if ever wound up defaulting into a stealth archer. In fact I can't think of a more boring playstyle. You can alteration armour yourself and destruction cast your way through stealth free, or wear heavy armour and bash your way through, you can be sneaky with daggers, or any combo of the three. Hell you can play as a healer and not do a lick of damage the whole game. Its my unpopular opinion that those who default to stealth archer simply don't have the creativity necessary to come up with something else. Personally my default build is a spellsword. Blade in one hand spell in the other, heavy armour, points in conjuration, destrutcion, and restoration. My favourite to build is an arcane trickster where I outright just don't do damage to people but have them fight eachother. Hiding in the shadows just to plink people off one by one isn't my idea of a good gaming experience and falling back on that every time feels like a waste of a playthrough.

Need Inspiration

I love Skyrim. Played it religiously when it first came out. Picked it up again a few years ago on the Switch and have been playing it on and off since then.

The problem I'm having now is I can't seem to find a build/playstyle that makes me feel like I dont want to put it down.

You know when you hit the sweet spot in a build? Where it's still challenging, you're getting close to where you want your character to be, but you're not quite there. You have things you want to do, places you want to go. I'm struggling to find that now.

Any thoughts on what I can do or build suggestions?

My current build is Imperial, civil war champion, land owner, righteous protector of the innocent and downtrodden. Sword and board specialist. I've hit level 36 and lost interest.
