not sure if this is rule 1 but i was wondering about the movie "gifted".

in the movie uncle protects his niece from his own mom who wants to use the niece's math skills to make herself famous and at the same time by doing this unknowingly take her childhood away from her.

but uncle is protecting her from his own mom because uncle wants the niece to have a normal childhood and play with kids and be herself and explore and live.

is there a specific word for this kind of behavior or thing exactly?

This thing was in the basement of a house that I bought 20 years ago. It's about 6' long, has a wooden handle, and four what seem to be cast iron hooks. the outer and inner hooks are at different angles, like it would be for carrying two circular things of different diameter. Maybe some sort of farm implement?

Landed on me and got put on his ass for it.

I was cleaning my grandmother’s house and found this tin containing this double bagged dust with little pebbles in it.
Don’t think it’s someone’s ashes as it’s so rocky … anyone got any idea why this would be double bagged and put in a tin?

She was into rocks, especially tumbling them, but this doesn’t seem like something that would have normally fascinated her.

Found on the side of the road. Has a tray that sits on two metal rods on either side, tray can be removed and leaves some “hidden” storage space under it. Under that is a drawer and then some storage. What is this used for? Looks very old, it’s solid wood.

What in the world is this! A Norway rat (edit: I think it’s really a roof rat) drowned in a clean bucket of water last night. I dumped the bucket and noticed holes in the rat’s abdomen. And then I noticed these things on the ground where I dumped the bucket. These 100% came out of the rat….and somehow were still slowly moving! Wtf!!!🤢🤢🤢

I just moved and noticed these on the floor after the movers took the furniture out. Just wanted to know if this is something that I need to keep or can throw. There was an ikea bedframe and a coffee table around it, but don’t know where these would fit.

I just moved into a new house and this wire is just hanging menacingly out of my wall 😂 I’m wondering what the heck it is and how can I get rid of it? Do I need to call an electrician or something? It’s ugly and I want it gone lol.

I recently bought a new house in a northern suburb of Atlanta

In the ~1 month I have lived here this substance has started appearing in several areas around my deck

It is brown/amber in color and and thick and sticky like a resin or sap

It appeared underneath a rug that was on the deck which makes me think it is somehow being secreated from the wood.

It only partially came off when taking a flat edge putty knife but that sctratched the wood and took the paint off as well. I tried spraying Goo-Be-Gone on it as well to no effect.

What is it, and more importantly how do I remove it or keep it from coming back?

Drove for just a couple minutes after work before hearing something was wrong with my tire. No air leakage yet, and have bad tire damage driving near my job before, but these babies seem almost deliberate.
Not a barrier to getting stuff fixed, just morbidly curious, and wondering if it has anything to do with a coworker of mine who just quit.

These keep appearing stuck to the walls of our business in Pinellas County FL. It’s the second time I’ve seen one on this Ring camera. Also found on on a window. But it’s not just here. I’ve seen them at a house we have as well. They’re hard, yellowy white, some edges almost seem paper like. Thumb for scale.

SOLVED! It’s nicotine patches. And I found out who is responsible.

If I had to guess I’d say we were somewhere over Croatia or Austria maybe.

What is it? Car test track? A terribly designed airport? Crop circles? lol

Coworker from Cambodia brought these in, they're about 2 inches long, sort of apple/old apple textured inside with a long pit/seed in the center. They are neither sweet nor sour.
