i couldnt get a picture but i genuinley cannot figure out a logical reason for this. I was taking my dog out for a walk at like 8pm so its dark but its not really that late. Im usually the only one out at this time becsuse i(19f) live with my 70 year old dad and we live in this like weird retirement community, we just moved in last month and ive thought it was sketchy since we got here but whatever. so im walking my dog and the first thing i see is this black truck with yellow lights spraying out like an insane amount of smoke and it literally just smelled like smoke and then when it turned the corner i saw it had a green gas looking container that the smoke was coming out of, and it drove around in a circle one more time blowing the smoke out in increments before driving away with a huge smoke trail. what in the world could that have been?? its like a residential area and ive never seen that before

I recently moved into a new apartment and I have two of these in my bathroom. No one can figure out what it is or what it’s for. This is a handicap accessible apartment if that helps.

I just moved into a new house and this wire is just hanging menacingly out of my wall 😂 I’m wondering what the heck it is and how can I get rid of it? Do I need to call an electrician or something? It’s ugly and I want it gone lol.
Please feel free to direct me to a different sub if anyone has any suggestions for somewhere better to ask. TIA!

Small rubber cylinder with a hole passing through it, one end is slightly thinner than the other, it's wrapped in a plastic bag, it's squishy

I am getting outfitted with tools, mostly second hand, and I am going through everything that I’ve acquired. Sorting useful from not, regular use and now.
I came across this nut driver looking fitting that has a wire coming though it. One side fits on a 1/4” driver and I have no idea what the other side is for.

Work in a car garage and we had a VW Polo in today for an airbag recall which had a weird handle on the inside of the drivers door. Anyone have any idea what this is?
EDIT: mental that I’m having to clarify this, but this post is obviously a wind up, myself and the other technicians have enjoyed reading all the replies!

Every 200ft (61m) or so on these high tension lines there are these wires that connect the pairs of high tension lines. To keep them apart or from twisting together or something maybe?

Just bought this cheap compass set and it came with these pieces. What are they for?

I live in an apartment complex and this sound started appearing about two years into living here. It started very gradually, only for a few seconds a few times a day to begin with. Now it stays for multiple minutes at a time and is much more frequent.
We don’t know where it’s coming from. It sounds like it’s coming from above but when we visited the apartment directly above us we could not hear it.
It happens at all hours of the day and it’s been driving us crazy during the night. I thought it might have something to do with pipes but I have no idea. Does anyone recognise it?

My husband and I are currently relocating long distance and staying at my FIL’s house while we figure out where we want to live.
My FIL is away working in another city, he is not here at this time. I accidentally came across this on the window in his bedroom when I was trying to find a good spot to put my indoor plants.
The window faces west. There is no tear in the screen under the tape either. Was curious if this could be a ward of some kind but my FIL does not believe in magic or any of that witchy stuff.
Anyone have any ideas?

So I'm guessing this is a meat carving fork, but what is this hinged thing on it? Is that to grab slices of meat on the backside of the fork or something?

I found maybe a dozen of these small flat pieces of metal in the street over my life. Always the same size. What is their origin? Ball for reference because I didn't have a banana

This was installed into our in ceiling heating/air unit over night at my job. It was never been there before and my coworker was panicking and making a fuss about it.

Saw this floating several hundred feet in the sky above Los Angeles - specifically above my neighborhood in Tujunga around 6:40pm this evening.
It looks like a dementor from Harry Potter or something. At first I thought it was a kite - but it was very high up and didn’t seem to be swaying the way a kite does in the wind. Is it a drone? A marketing gimmick for a new lame show/movie? A rip in the space time continuum?
For the record, This is not AI and the raw video I captured on my iPhone.
Any thoughts? Truly perplexed.
