OFFTOPIC NIL Transparency
Modern times require money to bring talent and help us compete. But it’s very weird that there’s no information about the amounts despite every other employee of the university having their salary publicly reportable. The kids can get their money, but why is it hidden from the taxpayers?

MEN'S BASKETBALL Mark Mitchell never signed an NBA contract and never technically declared for the NBA as a senior.
By SEC rules he should be eligible.

AFTER COLLEGE Best Place or Way to Sell Large UK Card and Memorabilia Collection
Hello...
I’m looking for advice on the best route to liquidate a massive, specialized University of Kentucky basketball cards and memorabilia collection built between 1993 and ~2013.
I was around campus for nearly a decade and had close ties to the program (family connections to Bill Keightley, close ties to Bluegrass Hospitality Group/private dining, team managers, and players). My goal back then was to own every card variation of a UK player in a UK uniform, plus signatures from as many eras as possible.
What the Collection Includes:
- Cards (~400+ Official Autographs & SPs): Heavy focus on 1996–2008 eras. Includes true 1/1s (e.g., Tayshaun Prince SA•GE Master Edition 1/1, Rajon Rondo Press Pass Legends 1/1 Rainbow), low-numbered rookie autos (/5, /10, /15, /25, /50, Exquisite, SP Authentic, By The Number patches, Dual Autos, etc.).
- Signed Memorabilia & Game-Issued Gear: Team-signed balls, signed posters/prints (including nearly every print/ball Cats' Pause produced), signed practice jerseys, Antoine Walker team-issued denim Converse sneakers, barnstorming items, team reunion items, some items from the Keightly family. Some professionally framed, hundreds of signed posters and photos in protective sleaves
- Rare Commemorative Bourbon: Complete run of early Keeneland/UK Maker's Mark bottles, plus ultra-rare donor pieces like the 2004 Sal's/Malone's 1-Year Anniversary gold-wax dipped 100-Year bottle (signed on-site by Joe B. Hall, Bill Keightley, and Bill Samuels Jr. with original event flyer provenance)...often many extras signed and unsigned.
The Situation:
- I’m currently cataloging everything into a detailed master spreadsheet with current market comps.
- I do not have the space to display it anymore, and it’s time to move it on to other collectors. I do not have to sell it...its not like I dont love the stuff so would just assume keep then consider lowball offers...again though I understand and expect to fair price (40 to 60%).
- I really want to avoid piece-mealing this across thousands of individual eBay shipments.
- I'm willing to price it realistically (around 40%–60% of true market value) so a shop, high-end dealer, or investor/collector has plenty of meat on the bone to buy the entire collection as a lot.
Questions:
- Given the sheer size and mix of high-end cards vs. bulky memorabilia/bottles, is a regional auction house better than approaching local card shops?
- Has anyone had success finding private UK collectors/investors for whole-estate-sized sports lots? I'd love to sell it to a collector who would enjoy be able to enjoy and display it all.
Appreciate any insight or recommendations.

UK HOOPS (women’s basketball) WBB Season Tickets
Hi!! I’m looking to buy WBB season tickets this year. This will be my first time - I’ve already signed up for the deposit & it said I’d be contacted sometime in the fall.
I’ve seen where renewals are ending next week, do new ticket holders usually get to pick their tickets then? Or when can I roughly expect to be able to purchase them?
Thanks so much:)

MEN'S BASKETBALL Should Mark Pope and Kentucky fear the NCAA's wrath if they add Mark Mitchell?
An NCAA Tournament selection committee member talked to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 and shared a thought about how he and his fellow committee members could handle this situation. Here is what the committee member told Goodman: “The NCAA may not be able to threaten teams that use players deemed ineligible by the NCAA, but I can penalize them, and so can other committee members if they want, whether it’s by seeding or even not including them in the field.”
The NCAA committee is genuinely unhinged and threatening to majorly penalize every team that plays a class of 22’ player. They’re just a bunch of control freaks fighting an absurd battle.
