We left home at 1 a.m. so we could be ready at the location by 4 a.m. We were there to catch the first rays of sunlight, and we also added some smoke to create a special atmosphere against the backdrop of the sunrise. It was an absolutely unforgettable photoshoot. 💜

Having recently finished a play-through with a plan to immediately start NG+, I luckily was faced with the prospect of delaying that for a month till the remaster comes out. Which I am very excited for, make no mistake.

But I was still totally wowed at the visual prowess and artistry in display in the base game, I was constantly just putting my controller down and taking it all in. The seamless day and night cycle, changing the mood of cutscenes and cinematics in real time. The unified and cohesive art style, unique for each region and faction, all while feeling part of the same world. The incredible lighting work, making interiors feel loved and homely, while capturing the wide and vast scope of the forest and mountains of the game.

There is a popular talking point circulating around many new releases, namely the argument that art direction is more important than graphical fidelity, and “high quality” visuals. This is a game which I think bares this argument out, and that fact that 11 years after it release, this game is still a benchmark. Still an example to look up to. That it still stand alone in many ways. Is a credit to the folks at CDPR, the work they have done, and the work they will do.

Just wow. A great story (well, maybe except for the wedding with Shani).

You could even say that o'Dim is a much more interesting character than Eredin. The scene where he stopped time was a shock and you could just feel the horror pouring off the screen. I managed to save Everec, although I had to try a second time because I ran out of time. Iris pets gave me a good clue, but it didn't cross my mind to use the Witcher's ability to find the cracked wall with water.

Now I will clear the map (?) and wait for the remaster to play "Blood and Wine".

Geralt has developed an unhealthy obsession of turning candles on and off again, on and off again.

Ever since the remaster was announced, I've decided to wait to play till it is here and I find myself feeling impatient as I jusy can't wait to play it with it updated graphics and improved gameplay features.

With the remaster announcement, I can't wait to dive back into that game, which is my all-time favorite in more than 30 years of gaming.

Here is a gallery of screenshots I took a year ago in my last playthrough before the HD rework, with a couple of mods, like the HD texture one. I think it captures the essence of why this game is so special, so I wanted to share it.

It's a perfectly practical armor. Just cozier now. :)

I've been replaying the Witcher 3 and loving it, doing as much side content as I can. I even got the achievement for destroying all monster nests across the continent. But I was looking for the Bear gear upgrade and happened upon a smuggler's cache in the middle of the ocean.

Never. Ever. Again.

Having to dive into that abyss, just waiting for something horrifying to be lurking just out of view, terrified to turn my camera in case I see it, all for some shitty loot that's 10 levels below me. During the event, someone opened a door behind me and I fucking jumped in fright. I didn't realise how deeply afraid I was.

It's kind of heartbreaking because I wanted to do everything this game has to offer, but after that experience, I don't want to go near the ocean again. I decided to look up if there are any sea monsters in the Witcher 3, and got that fuck-ass video of a Subnautica Leviathan mod because I wasn't on edge enough already </3

Curious if anyone else has tried doing Skellige's points of interest with thalassophobia. Would be nice to know I'm not alone in this lmao

I have been reading the books (great btw) and just finished Baptism of Fire. I ordered Tower of Swallows but it will arrive in a little bit. My local library has Crossroads of Ravens available, I know People say to read Crossroads of Ravens last.

But seeing how it is set before the main story ( I’m assuming no spoilers) does finishing the main series first really make it that much better?

Is it worth it to wait until I finish the series? Or is it fine if I read it while waiting for Tower of Swallows to arrive?

Did Projekt Red announce new Gwent cards? Would be interesting to either have new cards or even a new faction (Letten). Surely there will be new missions centered on Gwent, but new cards? I hope so.

This is something I still don’t understand I have the PS5 version of the Witcher and don’t know if I should uninstall it to wait for the remaster or if it’ll be an update that is added on top of that existing game.

Ik on switch 2 it’ll probably be an entirely separate game since it wouldn’t make sense to patch the OG switch version of Witcher 3 since it’s based on legacy and for a entirely different console but what about ps5 version?

There's a lot of fatigue right now on every game getting a re-released, remastered, remakes and much of it is because games are now surviving multiple console generations. Famous examples being the last of us being rereleased half a dozen times just a few years after launch.

The witcher 3 is nothing like that certainly. But I worry the branding is perhaps confusing some people, especially since they just had a big graphics "next gen" update a few years ago. And some people don't know what differentiates between THIS an the last one.

Honestly? Its just an update. They released a game update in 2022 adding ray tracing. They're releasing an update this year that includes new content, animations, effects, and a new dlc.

But because they call it a remaster, I'm seeing tons of posts like "wow! you can keep your old save!" "wow, its free for existing owners!". These are all things you'd expect for a game update. But calling it a remaster, idk, it kind of makes it feel like a separate product.

Maybe i'm just neurotic
