Estaba jugando el RDR2 como de costumbre y de pronto me salió un error, tengo la rx 9070xt Radeon challenger, me decía en el error que tenía que reiniciar, ahora reinicio y no me sale el adrenalin y tampoco me deja ni configurar la frecuencia de actualización de mi monitor (Msi321URX) ni tampoco activarle el HDR wtf, intento abrir el adrenalin y por gusto, tendré que quitar el Driver por completo y volver a instalar?

After physically cleaning my PC, I began getting frequent BSODs and system instability in dual-channel mode. Both sticks have identical primary specs printed on their labels (3200MHz, CL22, 1.2V), but mixing them caused memory controller errors.

Troubleshooting & Results:

• Attempt 1: Forcing 3200MHz with manual primary timings (22-22-22-52 @ 1.2V)
  • Result: No Display / No POST (Fans turn on and spin, but system fails memory training and locks up before reaching BIOS/Display).
• Attempt 2: 2400MHz with manual 3200MHz primary timings (22-22-22-52)
  • Result: Boots into Windows, but crashes with BSOD after 5–10 minutes under heavy load (sub-timings were out of sync for lower frequency).

I just bought a ASUS TUF RX 9070 XT and I am having the same issues. I’ve booted into safe mode and used ddu more times than I can count. I have tried the past AMD drivers and taken the gpu fully out thinking I installed it wrong. If anyone can help or have found a solution that would be amazing.

Description of Original Problem:
I am having a recurring issue with my AMD Radeon
RX 9070 XT where the system will randomly black screen. Both of my monitors go black and the computer becomes unresponsive, requiring a hard shutdown.

When I power it back on, the GPU will only output to one monitor. The other HDMI/DisplayPort outputs stop working entirely. The only way I have been able to restore all monitor outputs is to boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, clean all GPU drivers, reinstall AMD Adrenalin, and reboot.

I just bought it a week ago and don’t know if it’s a bad card or a software problem. I’ve booted into safe mode and used ddu more times than I can count. I have even tried taken the gpu fully out thinking I installed it wrong. If anyone can help or have found a solution that would be amazing. Thanks

Hi, I have a Sapphire RX 6700 10GB.

Since I got the card, AMD Adrenalin has always set the default max GPU clock to 2619 MHz @ 1200 mV, with VRAM at 2000 MHz.

The problem is that games crash at 2619 MHz. If I manually limit the max clock to 2100 MHz, everything is completely stable.

I have never overclocked the card. These are the default values shown by Adrenalin.

Why is Adrenalin setting 2619 MHz, and why can't my GPU run at that frequency? Is this normal for an RX 6700, or could there be a hardware/driver issue?

So I’ve had my pc for a while now since 2019/2020 can’t remember exact year but this year March my cooler failed and I had to install a new cooler. My pc is also from pc specialist so I ordered a new one from them, after installing the new cooler my pc had been randomly freezing and restarting ever since then, I could be watching a movie and it’ll freeze or be idle and it will freeze. Ive done a couple of troubleshooting things like getting a new ssd, updating my bios (2025) f19 version, installing new chipsets, installing drivers again, stress test and a couple more. This never used to happen and only started I got the new cooler but also not to mention when they (pc specialist) went through my pc and check the logs/wvent viewer there were may problems that lead to numerous problems, they said the next step would be to try a more recent bios update and if that don’t work I’d have to return it for repairing which I can’t really do right now. I’m looking for all help I can get especially since I work from home

Estou com um problema relacionado ao AMD fTPM. O TPM funciona normalmente, mas o certificado EK não está sendo disponibilizado corretamente pelo servidor da AMD.

As URLs geradas para buscar os certificados RSA e ECC retornam erro, e por isso o Windows não consegue concluir a atestação do dispositivo.

Já foram feitos vários testes de BIOS, drivers, limpeza e reprovisionamento do TPM, mas o problema continua. Tudo indica que as chaves/certificados correspondentes ao meu fTPM não estão disponíveis corretamente no servidor da AMD.

Gostaria de saber se mais alguém está enfrentando esse problema ou encontrou alguma solução recente.

Hi, I originally posted about severe microstuttering, but after trying to resolve that with DDU and a clean AMD driver installation, I’m now experiencing a much more serious black-screen and hard-crash problem.

TL;DR: Originally had severe microstuttering and GPU utilisation drops across multiple games. After using DDU in Safe Mode and reinstalling AMD Adrenalin 26.8.1, I started getting black-screen hard crashes in COD BO7 and Overwatch, sometimes followed by Windows disabling the RX 6700 XT in Device Manager. The card is much more stable when undervolted/capped, and FurMark can complete successfully, so I’m unsure whether this is a driver issue, GPU boost instability, PSU problem, or a failing GPU.

Description of original problem:

The original issue was severe intermittent microstuttering across multiple games.

My average FPS would generally be good, but every so often I would get a significant frametime spike where FPS would momentarily drop to around 9–11 FPS before recovering.

For example, I could average around 120 FPS in COD, but my 1%/0.1% lows and 99th percentile performance were terrible.

The particularly strange behaviour was that whenever one of these stutters occurred, GPU utilisation would also suddenly drop to almost nothing.

This wasn't limited to one game. I experienced similar behaviour in COD/Warzone and other games, so I started trying to troubleshoot the GPU/driver.

Troubleshooting:

To try to resolve the microstuttering, I:

• Booted into Safe Mode
• Used DDU to completely remove the AMD graphics drivers
• Installed the latest AMD Adrenalin software/driver
• Tried enabling/disabling various Adrenalin features
• Tested different in-game graphical settings
• Tested both my normal undervolt and completely stock GPU settings

The microstuttering was present regardless of graphical settings or whether the card was undervolted or stock.

However, after performing the DDU and reinstalling the latest AMD driver, I started experiencing black screens and complete system lock-ups, particularly in COD BO7 and Overwatch.

What happens is:

Game running normally → both monitors suddenly go black → PC completely locks up → I have to hold the physical power button to shut it down.

After restarting Windows, I have now had multiple occasions where Windows has actually disabled the RX 6700 XT in Device Manager, and I have had to re-enable the card/recover the driver. (This has now happened several times).

I have also been trying to determine whether this is actually a failing GPU.

I have run FurMark tests and the card is capable of completing stress tests, particularly when running my normal undervolt.

Interestingly, the card appears significantly more reliable while undervolted/restricted compared with completely stock settings.

Temperatures during the successful stress tests do not appear abnormal. although hot spot is rather hot at around 100 C during a longer stress test (although my card is a 2 fan so not sure if that is normal)

This has left me unsure whether I am dealing with:

• A failing GPU
• A problem with the current AMD driver
• GPU boost/clock instability
• Failing PSU
• Windows/driver corruption

What confuses me most is that the card can handle sustained GPU stress under certain configurations, yet COD/Overwatch can suddenly cause a complete black-screen hard lock.

The fact that the problem also became significantly worse after DDU + installing the latest AMD driver makes me wonder if this could potentially be driver-related rather than the GPU suddenly developing a hardware fault.

I have access to another identical RX 6700 XT, so my next step will likely be putting that card into this PC and testing the exact same games/settings. But before all of that switching and changing I thought I may as well ask in the community if anyone has experienced similar behaviour with recent AMD drivers, particularly RX 6000/7000-series cards,

Any suggestions for what I should test next would be greatly appreciated. I’d rather properly diagnose whether this is the GPU, driver, PSU or another component before replacing anything.

Well, for a few weeks now, the PC has been showing instabilities.

The one scenario I’m certain about is this: when I change the fan profile in AMD Adrenaline software, the PC keeps running fine, but after being shut down or restarted, it triggers a "driver timeout" and ends up rebooting. I’m positive about this. It’s the same when it wakes from hibernation: a driver timeout occurs, the system freezes, and then reboots. After that final reboot, Adrenaline settings reset to default, and everything returns to normal with no perceived instability. The reboot might be preceded by a system freeze, a delay in opening software that causes a freeze, or it might happen suddenly.

How was this diagnosed? After weeks of stable use across various applications, I decided to tweak the GPU fan curve because monitoring showed temperatures that—while not abnormal—could be improved. So, I set a manual fan curve and disabled "Zero RPM" mode; temperatures dropped by about 10 to 15 degrees. However, after shutting down and turning the PC back on—whether after a short or long interval—it would experience a driver timeout within minutes of use and reboot.

I tested this for three days, consistently forcing that fan profile change (and trying variations, like leaving "Zero RPM" enabled), but the result was always the same. Then, I tested leaving the fan profile alone, and the PC remained stable for four days (until yesterday), when I forced a change to the fan profile and the problem returned. In the meantime, I tried disabling Windows Fast Boot—a solution I saw on Reddit—but that didn't work.

What do the performance/real-time diagnostics show? I’m looking at the data from this morning (following a series of tests I’ve been running since last Thursday to confirm the error in the scenario I described). My RX 7800 XT recently died and I managed to get my money back. Now Im looking to buy a new card. Im able to get a 9060 XT (even the OC models) for around 550€, or a 9070 GRE for around 570€.

I know the 9070 has more raw power, but since its the "less conventional" GRE version, Im worried about driver support and performance issues in certain games.
Anyone has more experience with this?

There's power, the graphics card lights up, but that's it.

DisplayPort says "no power," and when I boot through the processor, neither GPU-Z, nor HWinfo, nor Adrenaline see the graphics card.

Troubleshooting: I updated the BIOS to the latest version.

I set the startup mode to PCI-E on GEN 4 with AUTO.

I disabled EXPO.

I booted with one stick of RAM.

I downloaded the latest Chipset drivers.

Hi everyone. I'm having a strange stability issue with my RX 9070 XT.

In some demanding games, the game crashes and closes by itself, returning me to the desktop. It's not a complete system freeze or BSOD — the game itself simply crashes/exits.

One example is Dying Light, but it also happens in some other demanding games.

What's strange is that if I leave the GPU at its default/stock settings, these crashes can occur. However, if I apply this configuration in AMD Adrenalin, the crashes seem to stop:

Frequency offset: 0 MHz

Voltage offset: -55 mV

VRAM Tuning: Disabled

Power Limit: -15%

SmartAccess Memory: Enabled

With these settings, I've been able to play the games without the crashes occurring.

I've also run GPU stress tests, including tests that put a heavy load on the GPU, and they didn't reproduce the crashes.

So my question is:

Could the fact that the GPU crashes in some demanding games at stock settings, but becomes stable with a relatively small undervolt (-55 mV) and a -15% power limit, indicate that the GPU is defective? Or is it possible that this is simply a game/driver/AMD Adrenalin stability issue?

I'm trying to determine whether I should be concerned about the GPU and consider an RMA, or whether this behavior can happen with a perfectly healthy RX 9070 XT.

Hey everyone! I recently bought an RX 9060 XT (16gb) and I am less than happy with it's performance. In certain games like CS2, I saw a very mild fps jump, and in other games, like Helldivers 2, it performed the same as my old GTX 1080. I have a 1080p monitor, an I9 9900k and 32 gb ddr4 ram. I deleted all nvidia drivers with DDU, I downloaded the latest AMD drivers, what else could I do? How could I improve its performance? Did I do something wrong?

EDIT: With the help of a professional we concluded that the cpu is a slight bottleneck. After a windows reinstall and many small tweaks (and failing to access BIOS because of a faulty keyboard lmao), it works a lot better and now I'm happy with my gpu. Also here in Hungary, this 9060 XT was my best possible choice for a 16 gb gpu. Thank you all for your patient and supportive replies!

hey guys so I built my first pc around December of 2025 and ever since the start I’ve had stutters on every game every game and ever since I updated the gpu drivers in April I’ve been crashing every week doesn’t matter which drives I roll back too. (From December 2025 to march 2026 I never crashed) once it crashes I am stuck on 30 hz when I boot back up and I have to ddu for it to work back normal.If I force shutoff right before it crashes it starts back as normal which is weird

My pc could be stable for 2-4 days running any games and then out of nowhere it crashes(even on YouTube or Home Screen) I am new to pcs so I tried researching solutions but I feel like giving up.Do u guys think I should send it for RMA ?

Was thinking also of buying a 5060ti just to test if its my gpu of other components

Disabled VRR in Windows. Also increased the TDR delay to 8 but I had no crashes with VRR off alone.

From what I've read windows tries to impose it's own "FreeSync" and that messes with AMD's.

System > Display > Graphics

On advanced graphics options leave hardware acceleration ON and turn Variable Refresh Rate OFF.

Throwing it out in case anyone faced the exact same issues - it may or may not apply to others.

Details -
Opening any random video on my PC and trying to close the media player would either cause driver timeout, or straight up crash the PC and force a restart. This was NOT the case up to a week ago or so when everything was working fine.

Major changes I know happened was a bunch of windows updates alongside AMD updating to 26.8.1 and updated chipset drivers. I thought it could be fixed with rollbacks - didn't work. I tried 26.7.1, 26.3.1, 24.12.1 and even Radeon PRO 26.Q3 (as mentioned in another recent thread here) - none worked. Probably ran DDU as well like 5 times for various different versions - no results either.

Asking Claude for troubleshooting just blamed the GPU and said to RMA it, while half the threads here blamed the memory (which memtest86 showed no errors with, and anyways this PC worked flawlessly up till a week ago) - caused me to suspect the OS next. Kept this (reinstalling OS) as a last resort but glad it worked out for me - shouldn't have been the case (having to reinstall the OS to fix some issue caused by updates is NUTS) - but it is what it is.

Hello everyone. This weekend I'll be upgrading my CPU from a Ryzen 5 9600X to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. My question concerns a BIOS update for the Gigabyte B850M Gaming X WIFI6E motherboard. My BIOS version is currently F4. Is a BIOS update recommended when upgrading to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D?

I'm experiencing severe screen tearing after enabling AFMF; the image looks very shaky/distorted. What should I do? I am using a 7900 XTX GPU and a 120Hz monitor. Here is what I have tried so far: ・Setting the maximum frame rate via Chill to 60 FPS (resulting in 120 FPS with AFMF enabled) and also trying the "-3" setting (57 FPS) found online. ・Testing various combinations of enabling FreeSync, disabling VSync, toggling "Wait for Vertical Refresh" in Adrenalin (On/Off), and enabling/disabling Enhanced Sync—yet tearing persists in every case. ・Trying various combinations of in-game FPS caps and refresh rate settings, but nothing worked. *The system monitor shows the output as 120 FPS.

Note that screen tearing does not occur with FSR frame generation.

So I’ve had this 9070xt since release, it’s hotspot has been around 40-50 delta over the global gpu temp. I bought it from casekings. I sent it back to them but they reported no issues. I decided to just udervolt it for a few months and that was better but not great so I decided to take matters into my own hands and open it up but as I was about to open it I found two of the corner screws were loose.

I tightened them up and tested it and to my surprise the hotspot dropped to within 30c delta with a heavy undervolt. I bought some thermal grizzly PTM 7950 and applied it but now after a few cycles my hotspot is sitting around the pre tightening. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any solutions?

1. Ever since I purchased this computer, when I turn it on, it searches for signals from display port AND HDMI even though I turned search off in my monitor and I do not have anything connected to the HDMI port. It's empty. My dp cable is new, about a year old.

3.There is popping and slow rendering for shadows, trees, some buildings (driving or flying). An entire area (Vespucci canals) flickers on and off sometimes, even when on foot. GTA Online, at current settings, uses ~60% of the space in my gpu. I have the option to turn on Ray Tracing and the game still runs okay but the popping and slow rendering still occurs.

Troubleshooting:

AMD Clean Up Utility.

Deleted all remaining AMD folders.

uninstalled all AMD software in programs.

Turned off auto download manufactures' apps using the sysdm.cpl method (as some say Windows Updates interferes with AMD installs).

installed latest driver from the website to an external harddrive (trying to install without internet as some say Windows Updates interferes with AMD installs).

tried to install from the harddrive but internet is required for driver installs. this version of the install included Adrenalin and Device Manager Events said "Program started" Thought I fixed it. Then, the game crashed even before it booted.

uninstalled again with amd cleanup utility and deleted all amd folders and uninstalled all amd programs, including adrenalin.

I then used the driver update I had in my downloads folder that morning that has the latest drivers.

And the error returned.

I checked if this error is a big problem on various search engines. It said as long as the game runs, it's likely an insignificant corruption I can ignore or Windows incompatibility with the AMD driver?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to diagnose a recurring stability issue with a new RX 9070 XT system, and I’d really like to hear from other RX 9000 owners who have experienced something similar.

At this point I’m mainly trying to figure out whether this looks like an RDNA4/driver/Windows scheduling issue, or if I should start suspecting a marginally faulty GPU.

System:

- Ryzen 7 7800X3D

- ASUS TUF Gaming B850-PLUS WIFI

- ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB

- 32 GB Patriot DDR5-6000 CL28, EXPO enabled

- ASUS TUF Gaming 850G EVO PSU

- ASUS ROG XG27ACMES, 1440p / 255 Hz via DisplayPort

- BIOS 1681, latest stable version

- PCIe set to Auto

- iGPU disabled in BIOS

Drivers tested:

Originally AMD Adrenalin 26.8.1.

After the first major crashes I used AMD Cleanup/DDU and did a clean rollback to 26.7.1.

Unfortunately, the problem continued on 26.7.1, so it doesn’t seem to be a simple 26.8.1 regression.

Chipset driver is 8.08.12.551. I also found and fixed a previously missing AMD PCI device driver (DEV_14DE), now using AMD PCI driver 1.0.0.90.

Crashes so far:

August 29 – 26.8.1

Complete hard freeze / DisplayPort signal loss.

Windows later recorded:

VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED (141)

Complete hard freeze again.

Driver timeout occurred, but this time Windows successfully recovered instead of completely freezing.

Full system freeze followed by automatic reboot.

This time I got a real BSOD dump:

DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (0x133)

Subtype:

DPC_QUEUE_EXECUTION_TIMEOUT_EXCEEDED

WinDbg bucket:

0x133_ISR_amdkmdag!unknown_function

amdkmdag appears multiple times in the watchdog/DPC path.

What makes this strange:

The GPU seems completely happy under heavy synthetic load.

I ran:

- OCCT 3D Adaptive Variable, 30 min: PASS

- OCCT Adaptive Switch 25% ↔ 100%, 30 min: PASS

- OCCT VRAM 80%, 30 min: PASS

No errors, no TDR, no overheating.

I also played Apex Legends DX12 for an extended session at roughly 300 FPS with high GPU utilization and normal temperatures, completely stable.

So this does not seem to be a simple case of:

"high GPU load = crash"

It can survive sustained high load and rapid load changes, while sometimes crashing during gaming or even after long idle periods.

RAM / EXPO testing:

Because EXPO/IMC instability was another possibility, I ran a full MemTest86 test with EXPO actually active:

DDR5-6000 MT/s

CL28

Result:

48/48 tests passed

4/4 passes completed

0 errors

~2.5 hours

So RAM/EXPO instability has moved much lower on my suspect list.

I also had two crashes of OCCT’s AM5 Margin Probe, but both were the application itself crashing with exactly the same:

c0000005 Access Violation

and exactly the same offset:

0x10D42

while OCCT reported no actual memory errors.

Combined with the clean MemTest86 result, I currently suspect that may be an OCCT v17/preset issue rather than unstable RAM.

Things already ruled out / tested:

- iGPU disabled: issue still occurred

- Chrome hardware acceleration disabled: issue still occurred

- clean driver rollback: issue still occurred

- GPU temperature problem: no indication

- VRAM errors: none found

- sustained GPU load: stable

- rapid GPU load switching: stable

- PSU is 850 W with factory cabling and shows no obvious symptoms under heavy GPU load

I’m not claiming the GPU itself is definitely good. A marginal hardware fault could still behave this way.

Next tests:

My next clean A/B test will be:

HAGS OFF

Nothing else will be changed.

If it crashes again with another 141 / A1000001 / 0x133 / hard freeze, my final driver test will probably be:

AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode → internet disconnected → clean 26.3.1 WHQL Driver Only installation.

If it still happens on that driver, I’m planning to stop troubleshooting at home and send the complete PC back to the retailer for component A/B testing, especially testing with another GPU.

What I’d really like to know:

Has anyone with an RX 9070 XT / RX 9000 series seen the same combination of:

- LiveKernelEvent 141

- A1000001

- amdkmdag

- DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION 0x133

- hard freeze / black screen / DisplayPort signal loss

- crashes during idle or relatively light transitions despite heavy stress tests being stable?

If you did:

Did HAGS OFF help?

Did an older driver actually fix it?

Did replacing the GPU fix it?

Or did the exact same problem continue with a replacement card?

I’ve found a few reports that look very similar, but I’m trying to separate general RDNA4 driver issues from genuinely defective/marginal cards.

Any dump analysis, driver experience, or reports from people who went through an RMA would be very useful.
