Monti absolutely has to atleast place a waiver claim for him. He is 25 years old coming off 4.5 sacks in only 7 games played. Besides last year he has no real injury concern and it was very questionable as to why he was even cut in the first place. I'm sure there is some issue with him but this is the type of low risk high reward moves you have to make to slowly fix your team. Monti needs to improve outside the draft and adding him off waiver is very low risk since he only has 1 year 1 million left on his contract as well. If you add him and he becomes even a rotational piece cheap longer term you have given your defense a significant boost and it meshes well with a younger timeline. Obviously he can be claimed ahead of us by the jets or raiders but if monti doesnt even place a claim like yesterday he needs to be fired after this season if we dont make some miraculous improvement like making the playoffs, you simply cant trust him to draft potentially the next QB if beck isnt the guy or be in charge of spending the 110 million in cap space we will have next year.

The cardinals are a very overlooked team that I see getting compared to the raiders, dolphins, and browns which I think is ridiculous. Outside of having the hardest schedule in the league (which is why I understand the low record predictions I see) Arizona is very talented and is a QB away from being a pretty dangerous team. They have rebuilt in a smart way and are a year away from contending for the playoffs in my opinion. The defense will be a question mark going into the season but there are also playmakers at every position. If everyone remains healthy the Cardinals will be hard to beat.

My wife and I are coming from Canada to Arizona in October to see the Lions and Cardinals do battle. It’s our first NFL game ever and we had a few questions that we think season ticket/stadium attendees can answer!

1. What’s the temperature inside the stadium? My wife will mention to me she’s uncomfortable in the summer and will wear a sweater when I would walk around in shorts and a tee shirt.

2. Is there much for tailgating?

3. Whats your hidden gem to see/do? We are staying nearby and the entertainment district is likely to be a heavy spot we visit. We are not renting a car, so uber/Lyft will be our best choice.

4. Are the stadium tours worth it? Again, first timers coming to an NFL game!

The Arizona Cardinals will be without running back James Conner for at least the first four games of the season. According to Arizona Sports 98.7 FM's John Gambadoro, the Cardinals are placing Conner on injured reserve and designating him to return.

It is a move that teams can do for up to two players. They can place them on injured reserve and designate them to return, bypassing the 53-man active roster. Anyone other than that must be on the active roster for at least one day before going on injured reserve to be eligible to return during the season.
