Shit post Ballard: “I’m not going to go into great detail as to how Keenan was punished internally, but we did make him eat an entire lemon as well as talk like Yoda for a day.”

What should I expect from Blake Freeland now that he's in Cincy?

The Bengals just signed Blake Freeland, and I remember really liking him during the draft, so much so that I didn't even know he was cut. So I just had some questions about him

Why didn't he make the team? was the injury from last year still lingering, was he just straight up beat out by another backup, or was it something character wise that the fans over in Cincy don't know about.

How good is he as a swing tackle? Like I said I really liked him during the draft, and remember him playing some and not being bad. Should we expect him to be able to come in and hold down the fort for 4-5 games if Brown or Mims go down? or is he gonna consistently get beat, and could he still live up to that potential he had coming out of college

Just some questions about him, haven't heard much since the draft, so I thought I would come over to this sub and ask some questions about him from you guys since you've actually seen him and have kept up with him.

This defense is simply not good enough for a GM in his 10th season with no significant success

Razor thin Dline group. Linebackers are a mess. CBs relying on mooney ward to stay healthy. 3rd round rookie starting at safety

I don’t like it

[Garafolo] The #Colts are releasing K Blake Grupe. Spencer Shrader wins the job after hitting his second 60+ field goal of the preseason. Grupe had a 90% make rate in camp. A close battle, with Shrader just barely edging Grupe out.

Free Agency Waiver Wire and Practice Squad targets

With cutdown day behind us, I’ve spent most of my day so far going through the final waivers/cuts from the other 31 teams lol. Obviously, I don’t know every player on every team, but I decided to write down a few familiar names from the past few drafts and this preseason. If there are any tape dogs out there, feel free to comment, criticize, or throw out other names/players to watch.

I also listened to the Locked On Colts pod this morning, and I agree with Zach Hicks on the positions he thinks the Colts are most likely to target via the waiver wire (or afterwards for their PS). So I mainly focused on DT/NT, CB/NB, and T, since I think those position groups are either thin (CB and NT) or have replaceable players currently rostered (mainly Jerry Tillery, Tim Smith, Luke Tenuta, and Johnathan Edwards).

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are candidates at RB and TE that they might go after, but I haven’t really scouted those positions this offseason. I could definitely see them targeting new TEs and RBs.

DT/NT:

Jay Toia (formerly Cowboys), Damonic Williams (Arizona), Sebastian Valdez (49ers), Kyonte Hamilton (Texans), Tim Keenan III (Rams), McKinley Jackson (Bengals), Rayshaun Benny (Ravens), Anthony Lucas (Lions).

CB/NB:

Brayln Lux (Bengals), Andre Fuller (Seahawks), Robert Longerbeam (Ravens), Kader Kouhou (Chiefs), Beanie Bishop (Bears), Starling Thomas V (Cardinals), Toriano Pride Jr. (Bills), Nyzier Fourqurean (Rams), TJ Hall (Saints).

Safety/NB:

Kapena Gushiken (formerly Eagles), Cole Wisniewski (Eagles), Nick Andersen (Rams).

Tackles:

Cameron Williams (Eagles), Chase Lundt (Bills), Marshall Foerner (Bucs – a Colts UDFA from last season), Wanya Morris (Falcons), Kiran Amegadjie (Bears), Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan (Ravens), *Lorenz Metz (Patriots), *Kilian Zierer (Jags).

Finally, I expect them to try to bring back 8-10 players from the back-ups they cut yesterday who are familiar with the system. For example: Kenneth Harris (CB), Mekhi Rodgers (CB), Trey Washington (S), Daniel Scott (S), Austin Brown (S), Mitchell Melton (DE), Durell Nchami (DE), West Weeks (LB), Anthony Gould (WR), Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (WR), Raylen Sharpe (WR), Sahmir Haggans (WR), Eli Pancol (WR), Ben Nikkel (WR), Ulysses Bentley (RB), Anderson Castle (RB), Blake Freeland (T), Nolan Rucci (T), Geno VanDeMark (G) and Josh Sills (OG). Those are 19 names and there were already reports yesterday that the Colts plan to bring back Pharaoh Brown (TE) and Cam Ball (DT) to the PS.

*Similar to last year when they had Bayron Matos (T) on the PS - or before him Marcel Dabo (S) - I could see them signing another player from the International Player Pathway Program (IPPP) for that extra spot on the PS. Not quite sure if the recently released Roy Mbaeteka (T) still counts for that extra spot, which is why I listed the german Tackles Lorenz Metz and Kilian Zierer under Tackle targets. Other potential players for that extra spot are Valentin Senn (O-Line, Cardinals), Luke Felix-Fualalo (T, Eagles) or Laki Tasi (DT, Titans).
