History/Culture Hartsfield-Jackson Airport (Hart) Cemetery
I've know about this place for a while but I happened to be on Riverdale Road and I spied the entrance. I stopped by and paid my respects. The little things that are scattered about just under our noses will never cease to amaze me.

Recommendations Looking for a Drag Queen Magician / Mentalist
Hi!
This is a very niche need, but I thought I’d ask.
I’m hosting a small bachlorette party and wanted to hire a magician (not a stripper, strictly magic) as a surprise for the bride. We wanted to go to a drag show too but will not have time; so I was hoping to find a drag queen magician or mentalist, anything of that sort.
If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear!

News New screen-time policy heads to School Board for initial consideration
Does anyone know if APS school board is going ahead with the screen time limits? This article says they were meeting in August but I can’t find any follow ups.
I’m a parent in the DeKalb system and have been dismayed with how much screen time is par for the course in the day. If APS moves ahead with limiting screen time that will definitely be a factor in our family deciding our next move. TIA for any info!

Crime/Police Bike thief on Ponce
He’s a regular at the Ponce McDonalds, bike is a r660 Scattante. Sighted him twice and captured this video the second time before he got away again. It’s been 40 minutes after calling police and of course they haven’t shown up even though the theif came back to the scene. Apparently lives in some abandoned building on Boulevard.

Question Looking for places Edgewood/Kirkwood/EAV adjacent to pick up used newspapers for pet bedding
Hey all,
As the title says, I’m looking for used newspapers for pet bedding. I unfortunately cannot use magazines, as their dye-heavy, slick-type pages are not ideal or safe; I’m looking for someone with an in person AJC, NYT, or other “newsprint” type newspaper that they wouldn’t mind handing off in stacks. Just good old fashioned newspapers.
If anyone can assist, what I don’t use for my personal pet uses can and will be donated to appropriate animal rescues in the metro.
Thank you!

Food & Drink Best Galbi kbbq?
Who has the best galbi in or near ATL? I’ve recently found some Korean bbq places don’t even have galbi and then in my mind they’re not true kbbq.
I lived in Korea for a year (albeit a long time ago) and galbi was a main staple for kbbq - everyone had it.
Anyone in ATL have galbi they’d invite their Korean family members to?!
TIA!!!

Crime/Police Flock VP Watched Recordings From A Playground Camera 38 Times. Is It Unplugged?
Even though Flock wiped their employees from the system without a trace, I found more disturbing evidence of their employees remotely spying on my City’s children.
After I was going back and looking at the event logs from previous years, I noticed a strange pattern that I had previously missed. The same Flock executive who had been doing the “demo” in the gymnastics room had looked at recordings of one camera far more than any others.
The camera is called “Brook Run Playground #006” - I believe it is a Pan Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) Condor camera because it used to be called that:
As the name suggests, with AI, this camera is designed to automatically pan, tilt, zoom, and track children.
Out of the 112 unique cameras this Flock employee had access to in Dunwoody, “Brook Run Playground #006” was the camera he accessed the most. In fact, he accessed this camera twice as much as any other camera in Dunwoody.
Before Flock once again says this was “a demo conducted as part of authorized activity approved under the city’s demo partner agreement”, which my city say’s doesn’t exist, it’s worth noting that some of the times he was looking at the recordings were as early as 6:55AM EST.
On July 1st, Flock CEO Garrett Langley tweeted “Why is there a Flock camera near a playground?” His own employee answered that question when he looked at recordings from my City’s camera “Brook Run Playground #006” 38 times.
Can we trust Flock, or any other vendor, to put up surveillance infrastructure that is one click away from being turned into a remote children-spying network?
Is your town next?

Recommendations Thoughts on Avondale Elementary?
I wanted to see if there were any parents with children in Avondale Elementary that would be willing to share their experiences there. All I see are the 3/10 Great Schools rating, which I can’t really figure out how that is calculated.
Also, if anyone has any recommendations on how to truly evaluate public schools around here, I would be very grateful!

Recommendations Best place to get jeans tailored?
Hey I recently bought some jeans and wanted to get a taper and hem alteration to them, does anyone have any recommendations for a tailor? Most of the stuff I have seen has been suit focused, and I'm wondering if they would even touch jeans to begin with.

PSA/Alert Georgia Power Online Services Unavailable for a Week!?!???
Has anyone ever heard of a company's online business commerce function to be unavailable of an entire week!?!? I really need to know WTF is going on over there that upgrades take a week to do. I've worked in IT for 20 years and have never heard of someone so ridiculous. You had no back systems. You can't contract another firm to host your services until your upgrades are done? No cloud services? Do AI company that they're providing power to that can assist them. All this money customer are paying and this is the kind of service accessebility we get. This needs to be investigated. Someone ring an alarm. This is inconceivable. I really want to hear what Georgia Powers excuse is, so that I can be at least entertained.

Pictures Center Parc Stadium (Former Turner Field), 35mm Film, 2026
I'm with the band at GSU and brought along my dad's old 35mm camera for band camp. I also have a little behind the scenes that most visitors never get to see. Even if you're not a film or photography person, if you like liminal spaces, I think some of these photos fit that vibe quite well.
Georgia State bought Turner Field in 2017 and converted it into our football stadium. There are athletic offices and conditioning for some other sports here, but football is all that is played here for now. Even then, most of the space and seats go unused as GSU isn't exactly GT or UGA when it comes to our sports attendance. It's nice to have a big stadium, but it's also a bit weird having it mostly empty 99% of the time. Most events that fill it up the most aren't even GSU events, usually the MEAC-SWAC challenge game, a concert, or the annual DCI Southeastern Championship usually are the biggest events held at the stadium nowadays.
I'm just trying to learn film and messing around with it, I'm no professional photographer. Some nice feedback would be appreciated, though! It's been challenging learning to shoot in low-light on film, especially because you can't check and adjust like with a digital camera. I shot this with a mix of Kodak Gold 200, Fujifilm 400, and there might be something from the Ektar 100 roll I tried in there. Dunwoody Film has been where I've been developing all of this stuff.
The last photo is from my phone and is of the old baseballs that used to be outside which are currently stored under the stands, gathering dust unfortunately. u/ArchEast replied to a comment of mine a month or so ago describing them and whatever else is down there and inspired me to make this post.

Things to Do Spent the weekend hunting for Tiny Doors around South Downtown, Edgewood, Cabbagetown & Grant Park!
My bf and I were looking for something fun (and free) to do this weekend so we grabbed scooters and did a little scavenger hunt looking for the Tiny Doors around the city.
We started over in South Downtown, found a few, and then stopped by El Tesoro for drinks and a quick snack before hitting Edgewood, Cabbagetown, and Grant Park. We managed to find 20!
It was honestly such a good time and a great way to get outside and explore different neighborhoods. If you’re looking for a low-key date idea or just something different to do on the weekend, 10/10 recommend pulling up the map and cruising around to find them.

Hey all, lost a DJI Mini 5 Pro in Blackburn Park today (09/01). Drone was last seen in a tree by the parking lot. It seemed to have fallen out while I was away trying to find a solution to get it unstuck. Drone registration number is FA3Y7P943W, and is printed on the side. Any help would be appreciated.
