Question How exactly do people prep truth so that they have both the fire rate buff + x4 reaper on a full mag while stowed?

I've tried replicating it by hitting 2 different shots then waiting for the reaper buff to end before I use the 3rd shot to kill a group of 4 ads for the x4 buff, but I couldn't stow it after reloading because it didnt save the buff like normal.

I see people doing it in videos and they arent doing any immediate prep right before dps so im not sure how its being done.

E - seems that I must have made a different error since the setup was accurate. Appreciate the comments letting me know :) im not sure what I did wrong before but knowing it was user error should make things simple.

Question Is there anything that can really compare to stasis titan?

I feel like it’s genuinely just that powerful to where it’s in its own league, nothing I’ve tried has been close to how braindead easy everything becomes with that build but I really hope there’s something similarly powerful

Question How to make the most out of boots of the assembler?

I’ve been trying to make a well dps build but I can only get one batch of seekers to spawn and that only amounts to a 35% damage bonus for 5 seconds and no more seekers seem to spawn after that even with other people in the well. Why is that? What do I need to do different?

Misc Coolest Mission

Recently I decided to go back and start all the way over on D1 with a hunter. In all the years I’ve played destiny I’ve never touched the hunter. Anyway, I’m currently playing through the taken king dlc and just finished in my opinion the coolest mission in all of destiny history. That mission is called “Last Rites” and basically you sneak in to the Hellmouth (Croats end location) and you get to walk through some of the encounter locations but the coolest mission in part is the stealth. You use stealth code which turns you completely invisible and have to avoid the hive sword bearers because they can still smell you. It’s nothing too special but I can’t think of anything like it in destiny. I felt like I was doing a GTA heist trying to steal some of Crotas soul. I think it just goes to show how much cool stuff we still have in playable versions of destiny. All the SIVA and the Taken King have to be my favorite memories and activities from all of destiny and I think everyone should go back to experience for the first time or just to experience it again.

Question Are Breech GL even usable?

Just started playing again in 2026. Pretty good in crucible, and going for dead eye title, but my god the GL suck. I know it’s a skill issue but i genuinely don’t see anybody being good with breech GL, they feel so under powered it’s not even funny. Half their health had to be gone and still won’t kill. Maybe I’m lagging cause I’ve had some games miss melees when it should’ve registered. I’m just getting really frustrated because I feel I can’t grind this at all. Any other weapon I can drop at least 10+kills with any other gun I don’t even use often, but dammit I struggle to get two or three in a match with breech GL. I hate these breech GL. Please tips or just admit they threw all the pvp grenade launchers to shit.

Edit: thanks for tips everybody, I will be trying them all out hoping I don’t go insane haha. Genuinely much appreciated though.

Question No Backup Plans Interaction

Saw a strange interaction while on Strand Titan running No Backup Plans. While standing in a teammate's healing rift just to the point where I got a generic overshield. I then got a shotgun kill which put a Void Overshield timer in my buff feed.

Is this an unintended interaction that will turn a generic/weak OS into a strong-DR void OS? Or is it just a visual thing?

Perk reads: ...While you have a defensive buff (Void Overshield, Amplified, Restoration, Frost Armor, Woven Mail), your Shotguns and melees deal additional damage and final blows with either extend the duration of those buffs...

It was supposedly available the last two years from Eva.

Any idea if there will be a way to claim it this year?

I was on hiatus.

Edit: Thanks for all the replies.

I was honestly hoping the new "Tenet" kiosk might have it lol

It's fine though.

Question Best way to solo lockset on hunter?

Is it possible to use devils ruin plus fulmination, ashes, char and eruption, so solo 1 phase the lockset from sundered doctrine. Or do you need to use blade barrage?

Edit: so just got home from work and thought I’d try this dungeon out on hunter. Died a silly death on first puzzle killing myself with truth. But since it was a practice run thought I’d just carry on.
Used speed loaders, solar hunter with devils ruin and almost 1 phased the lockset. Just hit the second lockset with my super and shot with devils ruin. Spent rest of that encounter hopping around not really caring and accidentally completed the encounter. Tried to kill myself but the adds decided to not shoot me.

Progressed on to the final boss, to see how much better my pris hunter, tether, truth, lotus, 200 weapons build would do against boss as I’d been really struggling for damage on my warlock. Did it first try, easy easy three phase. So that death that i didn’t think anything about cost me a flawless first try on hunter.
Disclaimer: I’ve had countless runs on warlock so I’m pretty good with the mechanics etc. but still!
Anyway did vespers SF on Friday, so hope to have this done by tomorrow.

Question What's up with bad performance on Steam?

Just getting back into destiny since a friend I met on marathon wanted me to play.

I was playing PVP last night and was getting sick of the choppiness and micro stutters. There was no way this game was performing worse than marathon on a 5080 at 4k.

So I look online and see someone saying that Xbox PC app runs the game better. So I downloaded it, and low and behold it ran buttery smooth no choppiness, dips, or micro stuttering.

Somehow the game also looked a bit better, with better lighting reflections in puddles etc using exact same settings since these autosave to the cloud. (other people had reported that even epic games launcher version had slightly better graphical fidelity too)

This isn't the first game this happened to. I remember on warzone at one point a while back an update launched that tanked FPS on steam whilst Xbox app was running it flawlessly with 30% more FPS.

Is there a workaround to get steam to run this as good Xbox app or other launchers? I don't really feel like re buying all expansions via Xbox.

Question Questions about how to obtain “Accelerated Assault” Origin Trait

Upvotes

So obviously one of the last things in this game that is time consuming and rewarding to chase after is trying to get all of the Vanguard/Crucible/Renegade weapons that you want with the Accelerated Assault origin trait.

I understand that to get weapons with this trait, you can either do the weekly GM Alert with the gold border weapon, the equivalent for Crucible, and the Renegade weekly quest contract thing. But I have some questions:

  1. Can you farm the GM Alert multiple times during the same week and receive multiple of the bonus focus weapon with AA, to farm for the wanted roll? Last week I got a DFA with AA on the first completion, but after that the gold border on the weapon when you look at the activity is gone, and on second completion I got another DFA but without AA. So after the first completion, is it not possible to get any more AA rolls? Or is it just not guaranteed after the first one? Also I noticed the gold border is gone if you switch characters too, so I assume you only get one guaranteed AA weapon from GM alerts per account per week.
  2. Which Crucible activity drops AA weapons? None of them show a weapon with a gold border. Is there just not a guaranteed way of getting one from PvP, you just have to farm the ones with specific weapon drops attached? (For example, Mayhem has Joxer’s Longsword as the bonus focus. Does that mean it has a chance of dropping with AA?)
  3. Can random weapon drops (non contract) from Renegades drop with AA? Or just the weekly contract weapon?
  4. Is it possible to get AA on vendor drops from Zavala or Shaxx? Or even the Tenet of Bravery engrams? I ask this specifically because I want to get the “Something Something” from Zavala with AA but unsure if it’s possible from his engrams. I know the weapon can’t be a bonus focus from the GM Alert because there’s not an MoT version, so was hoping it was possible from focus decryptions. Or is it just not possible anymore?

I really like the idea of a rare origin trait to farm for. One of the few actually rare incentives to keep farming for and playing this game. Just wish it was better understood all the sources to get it from. If anyone has a confirmed AA weapon drop during MoT from a vendor please comment, just want to know if I’m wasting my time or not.

Discussion Vanguard Alert Fireteam Finder Errors

Summoning guardians went from failing with the 3rd joining to both failing to join and it just spins ans clocks.

I've moved to just regular fireteam invites. And like halfway thru the mission one will be randomly kicked.

This has happened on my Warlock and Titan. I'm at a loss of what to do.

I've restarted Xbox and cleared its cache. And I've rebooted the modem multiple times.

Any advice?

Question Vault of Glass questions

(solved, thank y'all so much for the help)

  1. Do the raid mechanics change in any way depending on difficulty (Normal, Master)?

  2. Should I get the Timelost versions of weapons or the normal versions? And why?

  3. Can I get Timelost in both difficulties? And if so, do the drop chances change? If so, how do they change?

Discussion A look back of what could've been. Spoiler

Since D2 has ended and the future of Destiny is in a weird spot, I wanted to share some ideas on things I wish they did instead. I want to state that not all of these are original ideas, it's an amalgamation of ideas I've seen from YouTube, the community, and my own, all mixed together. I will be breaking it down by story, then gameplay changes.

Story changes:

Witch Queen The obvious change for Witch Queen would be to drop both Light 3.0 and Strand together. As great as Witch Queen was, I personally would've rather they delay the campaign on the already long Season of the Lost to have both of these drop. My reasoning is that missing out on the third Darkness subclass to round out three Light and three Dark before Final Shape would've been a nice touch. I think overall, besides adding Strand, most of what came out this year seasonal story wise was pretty good.

Lightfall This expansion was, in my opinion, one of the first issues that D2 faced going forward. As neat as the neon city of Neomuna is from a story perspective, I think it's pretty weak and doesn't really fit Destiny's identity as much as the rest of the game. I think we should've never gone to Neomuna and instead should've spent the DLC on Nezarec's Pyramid ship. An easy hook is the fact that the Traveler shot a massive beam into it, why would it target that one in particular? I think the campaign should've been about exploring this Pyramid ship and encountering the Dread instead of waiting until Final Shape for them to appear. Everything in their ranks I think is perfectly fine, except I think if we were to add a third Darkness subclass, the "Red Subclass," here, I personally think the Tormentors would've been that instead of Void. To get back to it, the campaign could have you exploring, trying to puzzle everything out, while this constant dread lurks over you, and of course this is Nezarec slowly waking up. The climax could be the Veil, or some equivalent, being the key to open the Traveler, and Nezarec wakes up to activate it for the Witness. You still get the "we lost" feel at the end, and the raid makes more logical sense since you have this great threat causing nightmares across the system. The third Darkness subclass, I think, would thematically be the counter to Arc (since Strand/Void and Stasis/Solar), the decay/rot subclass. That's personally how I think Lightfall should've been instead.

Season of Defiance Since we changed Lightfall, I think Defiance would also change. I think this season should focus on the aftermath of the Traveler opening and Nezarec's nightmares haunting the system. I think it would start after RoN had been cleared. Since Nezarec is dead, I believe his successor, some named Tormentor, is carrying out his will, instilling fear and dread across the system, hammering in the fact that the Witness won this battle and is now in the Traveler. The climax would be defeating this foe and having a bit of hope brought back.

Season of the Deep I think this would stay roughly the same. No real change besides making Wicked Implement an actual viable gun and not a peashooter.

Season of Grandeur (NEW) I think Lightfall should've had five seasons in its year (or however long until Final Shape) instead of going straight into Final Shape, with, I think, a slightly longer mid expansion update focused on the Cabal being a nice addition. A Calus and Caiatl themed season. Since Calus didn't die in Lightfall, this would be the season where he's dealt with, leading up to Final Shape. The season would focus on the Shadow Legion delaying the Vanguard and coalition forces from finding a way into the Traveler. Calus was tasked with this objective. The cherry on top would be a remastered Leviathan raid, but this time with a Shadow Legion and haunted splash of paint to it, with the final boss actually being Calus this time and not a robot.

Season of the Witch Stays the same.

Season of the Wish Stays the same.

Final Shape I think it would stay mostly the same, the only difference being the inclusion of the third Darkness subclass in Prismatic.

Episodes 1 through 3 I think this is mostly fine. Revenant could've used some work, but all things considered, fine.

Edge of Fate This expansion had so much potential. From talking with others, I think the biggest problems with this place are a few common issues: the world abilities were a waste of time, there's no reason you should have to turn into a ball 20 times and get the other abilities to open a door to an area you've replayed 100 times already. Which goes into the next part: repetitive areas, doing the same spot but for a slightly different campaign mission. I personally would rather have a shorter campaign that's interesting than a long, monotonous one. You could slash 5 to 6 missions and the world upgrades from Edge of Fate and replace them with one strike, and I think most people would agree. Besides those changes, I think one big story element would be the removal of the Aionians from the story. I feel like they have the same issue that Neomuna has, where, while it is cool, it kind of feels a bit out of place. I think a better version of this would be two clashing Fallen exile groups: one being a more peaceful group, and the other being the more fanatical group. Lodi could be chilling with the less fanatical ones, and the story would remain mostly the same in my opinion.

Renegades While I do think the overall feel of the campaign is good, I personally am not a massive Star Wars fan. While I don't hate it, I do think it was way too on the nose, it's one thing to take inspiration from it and have a nod, but to have what is essentially Episode 4, D2 edition, I think takes away from Destiny's rich and awesome lore. What I would change is completely getting rid of the Imperium Cabal aspect of the expansion, and instead I think they should've leaned into a Light and Dark Dredgen conflict, how I imagine it, you could have the outer planets being the more Dark aligned Dredgen and the inner being Light aligned. Bael would still be the main antagonist, and being the edgelords that they are, they could do something with the Taken. The Dreadnaught is still off the coast of Saturn, and with Bael getting power from VI, it would make sense that they are trying to harvest something there.

Gameplay Changes:

For this section I will just be listing off things I think had a negative impact, or things I would've liked to see.

Subclass Changes

Titan

Solar - I think the only change for Solar Titan would be giving them a third Solar super. Essentially Pyrogale Burning Maul, but as a standalone super, and Pyrogale would be the Cuirass of the Falling Star equivalent.

Void - I think, instead of giving you Weapons of Light, the bubble should give volatile rounds to your weapons instead, and you can leave the bubble while still keeping the Void overshield as well as the volatile weapons buff. Bubble will never be better than a Well, so instead of trying to compete, just make it a different buff, allowing you to run both.

Arc - Fine as is.

Stasis - I think two big things with Stasis Titan are the aspects. As of MoT, there is like one good build for Titans in PvE. Changing Diamond Lances to be a second charged melee you throw in first person, and having the Diamond Lance aspect add some type of bonus to your melee of some sort, would be more interesting for most people. Adding a second "one off" super would also be nice, something along the lines of a massive diamond lance/spear you charge and throw, doing damage on the initial impact, then causing a subsequent Stasis shatter one to two times after.

Strand - I think Strand is pretty good; the only thing I would add would be a second type of charged melee and a new super. For the charged melee, I was thinking a dumbed down version of Bladefury's heavy attack, one hand would fling upward, causing a debuff to the target. The new super, I think, should be a similar one to Song of Flame. You already have Banner of War, why not lean into a first person style to buff your surroundings as well? I was thinking you have an area where Strand and Kinetic weapons get Unraveling Rounds and everyone gets Woven Mail x2 to provide defense and offense.

Warlock

Solar - Perfect and needs no attention.

Void - Pretty solid.

Arc - Beautiful.

Stasis - I think Warlock Stasis really only needs one thing, and that's a new super. I think a solid super idea would be another Song of Flame clone, but where you have three enhanced Stasis turrets, one on each shoulder and one above your head, that target any enemies nearby. These would, of course, do more damage than traditional Stasis turrets, with better speed of projectiles, and on proc would gain Frost Armor x10.

Strand - I think Strand Warlock is pretty solid; the only thing it needs is a roaming super. The roaming super would be a Nova Warp/Winter's Wrath type, where you float above ground, and the light attack would be like the charged melee, and the heavy attack would spawn a Threadling nest.

Hunter

Solar - Fine.

Void - Fine.

Arc - Gathering Storm needs a damage buff, but fine besides that.

Stasis - Needs a roaming super. I think an easy fix would be Silence and Squall, but instead of throwing and forgetting, you roam using them that way. Also buff the damage for regular Silence and Squall.

Strand - Only needs a new super. I think doing some kind of noose ability would work as a way to debuff a target, either unraveling or something.

For the third Darkness subclass, I didn't go super far into building new supers or keywords, but ideally they would follow the same pattern and have two supers for each class.

Misc Changes

Here are some more ideas I think would've been nice to see, or that I think were bad for the game.

Crafting - I know this is pretty divided in the community, but I think adding more perks in each column would've been better than crafting. Once crafting happened, it took the loot out of looter shooter.

Exotic Missions - Now, I love most of the exotic missions. However, I feel like some of them could've been dungeons if they were given just slightly more. Things like Starcrossed, Seraph's Shield, Encore, and Kell's Fall could easily be dungeons instead. My reasoning is length compared to the others. When doing a mission like Zero Hour or Whisper, the stakes feel high and it's a challenge, but with the others, I personally feel like they are on the cusp of being a dungeon.

Sunsetting/DCV - Bottom text.

Question Can you still get the exotic khvostov?

I was following a guide, got all the way to the step about completing overthrows, and only now does it tell me that apparently one of the bosses you have to beat has been removed, making the questline impossible to complete. Is that true? Did I spend the last 5 hours doing fetch quests for nothing?

Question Are we against game preservation?

I have made several attempts to steer our short sighted message of “we want d3” into a more substantial “we want community servers or a DRM free version” so that we won’t be fighting to keep access to a game we all love 50 years from now.

Every single attempt gets downvoted to hell. How is this a bad message? I am genuinely asking this.

Edit:
Please excuse the strong and poor word choices above. The core message is all that matters, and we want the same thing in different forms. More Destiny. I understand that there are massive hurdles to overcome but maybe we as a community can come up with something that is feasible and profitable.

I’ve been pushing for preservation of any amount since sun setting. I don’t care if it’s just a single patrol area or dungeon that we can loop indefinitely. Hell, make every individual activity a separate game and charge $80 each as long as we get to keep it.

Edit:
I’ve been informed that Project Sunrise is making strides in allowing the game to be played privately and is disconnected from Bungie Servers. This is literally what I wanted to a T so thank you all for participating. I will take my leave :) I hope D3 comes out and is one of the best releases in Destiny history.

Discussion Raid checkpoints should remember which roles each player has completed

Raid reports tell us whether someone cleared an encounter, but not what they learned during it. A player can have twenty clears while repeating one role, then join a teaching run and still need every other mechanic explained.

I want a role tracker for each encounter. After a clear, players could mark which job they performed: runner, reader, plate holder, damage setup, or whatever applies. It need not grant rewards or affect matchmaking. It would help people plan groups and give players a reason to learn the less popular jobs.

Yes, people could mark roles they barely touched or lie outright. The current clear count is already a weak measure of competence, though. A volantary tracker would at least start a more useful converstation than “you have enough clears, so you must know everything.”

Would you personally use something like this, or would it create more gatekeeping than it solves?
