I turned off Bluetooth and bingo it was turned back on. Who owns this p10pxl? I guess Google does. Grrr. It seems if I turn off Bluetooth I think I have a valid reason. The phone doesn't just need to reconnect.

First off they're buried deep deep in the settings for you to even enable them, then the only one I want, the charging bar, shows less info than it normally would, and if you get notifications it doesn't take off the screen saver or actually notify you of them.

I’ve been deep in the Apple ecosystem for about 10 years now, but the new Google Pixel 11 Pro has really caught my attention. Google seems to be pushing way more innovative features lately, and honestly, Gemini feels light-years ahead of Apple Intelligence. (which does not work in Bulgaria, Gemini does however work and it works extremely well)

That said, I still have a built-in fear that Google’s polish, hardware reliability, and overall ecosystem seamlessness won't quite match what I'm used to with Apple.

Full transparency: A couple of years ago, I bought the Pixel 9 Pro to test the waters. At the time, I just couldn't get used to the UI/menu styling—it felt unappealing compared to iOS, and I ended up returning it. But with how impressive the 11 Pro looks and how smart Gemini has become, I'm seriously tempted again.

I'd love to hear from people who have been in a similar boat:

1. For those who moved from a long-term Apple setup to Google: How was the transition? Did you regret giving up Apple’s ecosystem integration (iMessage, AirDrop, Watch/Mac pairing, etc.)?

2. Did anyone try switching, give up, and return to Apple? If so, what was the dealbreaker for you?

3. Did the UI/software experience eventually grow on you, or does iOS still hold the crown for overall smoothness and aesthetics?

After hearing the horror stories. I carefully packed and filmed everything before sending my 8pro to google. Today, I got the notification that it matches the estimated value. And the value will be credited in 3 to 12 days. Happy to see this, now waiting for them to credit the amount.

I need urgent help getting my case escalated to a corporate team. I have been a Google loyalist since the Pixel 3 XL, owning the Pixel 6,7, 10 XL currently, and original Pixel Buds Pro. My original Pixel Buds Pro failed with a dead left earbud. I upgraded to the Pixel Buds Pro 2, but the charger failed out of the box. Now, the warranty replacement pair has failed with the exact same left-earbud defect as my OG Buds pro. When I called Google Support to request a refund escalation because Google cannot provide working hardware, the representative (Kevin) flatly refused to give me a Case ID or escalate the ticket, and then hung up on me after 45 minutes. Luckily, I managed to copy the Case ID directly from the website screen while on the line. I refuse to accept another broken replacement pair. I am requesting a full refund exception.

I wanted to share some thoughts after reading/watching quite a few reviews about the new Pixels.

The new Pixel 11 is absolutely stunning. It also runs smoothly and it's really easy to use. For those who don't like it because other brands offer better hardware... go ahead and try to find something similar to the Pixels (spoiler: you won't, there's nothing like it).

From a price perspective... yes, they're expensive, and personally I would never buy a phone for 1199€. But here's the thing: with Google you can actually get the devices with incredible discounts. By trading in my Pixel 8 Pro, I got the new Pixel 11 Pro for 524€ (though I'd have loved one of those even bigger discounts I didn't manage to get).

After many years of using many different phones, I think it all comes down to this question: do you like it? If the answer is yes, go for it. If the answer is no, keep looking.

I got my 1st Pixel device which was a base model 9 back in Nov. of last year. I absolutely loved the software experience. The only issue w/ the device is that it would run hot occasionally from multitasking or if it was being cranky lol ( running hot w/ just 1 app open, weird.) The downside was I choose the 128GB model not thinking of the RAM shortage around that time.

These 2 were my main reasons for upgrading. I got $450 for trade-in, i had a $100 promo, $94 in store credit, and i chose the $100 store credit back so i paid around $238, not bad at all.

The transfer process was the best I've ever experienced in android. The transfer was done in under 20 mins. I have Google Fi for phone service, that was setup in under 5 minutes, and I didn't have to clear the phone or messaging app's cache to fix any bugs like RCS chat not working. I have low tier Wi-Fi so I dread setting up apps but apps & system updates were done in an 1 hr & 45 minutes, this was the only time that the phone ran hot. I was in disbelief, I had planned for an all day event, and there was none.

The Pixel feels like a remix of the 9 & I'm so here for it. The Pistachio is on point, the trimmed down visor bar w/ the glass covering the entire camera system is eye catching, it's lighter and somehow to me, that adds to the visual snappiness that I'm experiencing from Tensor G6.

I can't explain it, but Android 17 feels different on this device. both OS and device feel like their finally in sync, like when Piccolo & Kami joined together, yes i know, I took it there lol. I haven't ran into any problems with apps, or the OS itself. During the 1st week I didn't experience any calibration time for the battery at all, it has been excellent since i took it out the box. I actually did my entire setup process on the initial charge that it came with before it's first charge. Whatever battery drain issue that occurred early this year is gone.

The Cameras. I've been looking for a fault and can't find one. I'm no pro, amateur at best, but a few folks enjoy my pics, so I take them. with no special settings or camera looks on, plain pixel shots still look good if not a tad bit crispier. I haven't taken any real good videos to compare to those from the 9. There's also new device specific AI features & Pixel enhanced android features, it's an AI playground on here. I don't mobile game but that's a different can of worms for this company to handle.

Given future promotional opportunities, i think the *Base Model Users from 6 to 9 might enjoy this Pixel 11 like I am currently. All the influencers are pro models users, that's were most of the bad vibes are coming from but if your base model user this is a nice clean upgrade. Plus you don't have to complain about HiLight cause it's not on the base model lol.

I have stated and maintain my experience (so far) that handoffs from 5G to 4G to wifi are all much better under "adaptive connectivity" with the new MediaTek modem in the p11.

Yesterday, I was in an area known for complete disconnection from all networks. While I did not notice any change in that behavior (no improvement in reception even at the edges of perceived boundaries) -- I did notice that my app based monitor for the signal showing a 4G signal that would normally connect but in this case did properly connect via Android Auto to maps. (google store: "Signal Strength" Developer: Lakshman) It kept cycling back to "retry". A spotty connection for sure.

I know there is a lot going on in that statement beyond just how the phone modem is behaving, but now I am curious about how these strength monitoring apps function. My observation is I have good reception even when the native app is showing 4G two bars of service but the app shows much reduced "service". My primary motivation for using a third party app has been to have a larger tile based image of signal strength when travelling.

I am curious about others use, choice of app, and observations regarding signal strength and service. What app(s) is-are the best of class for monitoring and having a visible signal strength tile?

Keep upgrading the processor, memory and camera, and work towards eliminating the camera bump. Don't do anything else. I'll keep buying the "same phone" forever.

Pixel 11 Pro purchased through best buy with trade in promo. I thought I could only get Geeksquad accidental warranty if purchased through Best Buy, but My Pixel app is offering pixel care.

Which am I better off with? Any prior experiences for anyone?

Best buy is $10 a month and Google seems to be $14.

So my Google Fold is set to metric, but when I use Google Maps, the measurements shown on my Google 4 watch are imperial. For example, “100 yds to turn right”.
This is annoying but not fatal. Am I missing something here? A setting perhaps?

I have a specific problem:

Randomly the wifi connection gets slow, so that browsing is not possible anymore. But it is connected... after disconnected & reconnecting: It takes longer then normal, few seconds in step "getting ip address..."

After this.. wifi is back, but slow.

Some retries are resulting into: wifi connected but "limited internet access".

But there is not WIFI issues as all other devices are connected perfectly.

Last time I could solve this by deleting the wifi connection, reboot & re add it. Now it happened again.

Anyone else with this problem?

EDIT I'm adding this edit because I'm getting some wild, crazily presumptive and frankly insulting replies. I'm a very experienced albeit, non-professional photographer. I've used many DSLR cameras. I know what a raw photo is thanks, and yes I've been processing them for twenty plus years.

What I'm trying to ask the community is what is the pixel phone camera doing to raw/jpeg output that my canon 5D etc isn't? Because the raw image out of this phone is so flawed and filled with baked in visual issues that can't be photoshopped out of existence by bumping up the sharpener etc, it's making me feel like Algorithms are doing a LOT OF HEAVY LIFTING with the jpeg output. The jpeg doesn't even seem to be derived from the associated raw. It shares no roots. This is not in all situations, this is not every single time. But it's enough times that I've noticed it

My pixel 10 pro raw photos are consistently worse than the jpegs created simultaneously. Often blurred and out of focus, and yet the exact same jpeg is great. Is this just a result of the phone doing a hell of a lot of processing? Is there any point in taking RAWS on this phone?

Was sitting at a high top bar table, maybe 5ft high? Dropped Pixel flat on screen on concrete.....it was loud and I thought there is no way it survived, but it did. I have carbon fiber case with no overlap onto the screen. Lucky I guess......

google is giving really good trade in value for my phone around £610 for my s23ultra, Samsung will give one major update and 1 year security updates I think, so I am on fence.

First of, I love the phone. My only annoyance is the fact that you cannot switch to the phone right away after dialling when making a call when you are connected in your car via Bluetooth - you have to wait for the caller to answer first. Why is this a problem? Well when my kids are sleeping in the car the other callers greeting via Bluetooth can wake up the kids. I also have this problem when I am working, and want to talk via speakerphone. I have to wait with my finger hovering over the speakerphone until the other party answers. Google please fix this.

​I dropped off my Pixel 10 Pro via Royal Mail on 24 August for a trade-in, but I haven’t received an update or final valuation yet. For those in the UK, is this typical turnaround time, or does the assessment usually take this long?

New 11pro has significant issues picking up the hey Google prompt, especially while connected to Android Auto. Never had issues with my P9 pro in the same car.

Anyone else having this or ideas for a fix besides returning?

Newer Pixel 9a user and this is something I held off on during initial setup then forgot about. It's now popping up for me to enable when I open phone screen. Any problems with it? I've searched a bit but don't see a lot about it so thought I'd ask here.

Since the exact same device is currently listed on Amazon.de for €1,069, I tried to take advantage of Google’s price guarantee.

Result:

“The current price of the device on Amazon is €1,069.74, while the price listed for the device in your order is €1,007.56 (excluding taxes), which was applied to your purchase. Since the price of your order is already lower than the current price on Amazon, the price adjustment cannot be made.”

I really don’t understand why Google is comparing a net price to a gross price here.
The net price on Amazon is €898.

As a private individual, I paid the full VAT and really don’t understand why a company like Google offers a “price match” only to then come up with excuses for not having to refund the difference.

In any case, this is a really poor showing on Google’s part and a bitter disappointment.

I've come to the Pixel 11 Pro fresh from a Pixel 9 Pro due to an extremely attractive trade-in offer. Very happy with the Pixel 11 Pro and it looks like it will be a decent, incremental upgrade from the old one.

In one way, however, it's noticeably less good than the old one: DJI apps.

Both DJI Lightcut and DJI Fly (which has now absorbed the functionality from Lightcut) don't explicitly support any Pixel phone after the 9 Pro. They mostly seem to work, but in several areas are not taking advantage of the hardware and falling back to a nasty, software encoding model. e.g. in Lightcut, if I load videos on the Pixel 9 Pro they load to the timeline instantaneously. On the 11 Pro it throws up a "processing" window which can take a long time - the last one was something like 15 minutes to grind up the files before I could get on with editing. Likewise, when exporting video, the Pixel 10 and 11 Pro are limited to 2.7k resolution, where the 9 Pro will do native 4K. This is the same with the equivalent functionality in DJI Fly.

Some reverse engineering has shown that this is down to a hard device filter in the app and I presume would a trivial change to fix for DJI...but I suspect it's one that they are unwilling to make given their fractious relationship with both Google and the US government. They're probably not too worried to see Google's hardware mildly crippled when using their apps. Petty, but I can't blame them I suppose.

Anyway, it's not an easy fix through reverse engineering (the app has tamper protection) so I'm just letting people know that if you use DJI apps, you might find that you get a pretty substandard experience now and in the future on Pixel phones. I'll be honest, I wouldn't have been so quick to update mine had I known beforehand...
