Ethan Nwaneri has joined Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old Hale End graduate has been with us since the age of eight and signed his first professional contract in March 2024 when he turned 17.
Ethan had already made history by that point, having made his first-team debut as a substitute away to Brentford in September 2022. Aged just 15 years and 181 days old, he became the youngest player in Premier League history, while the appearance also made him our youngest-ever player in any competition.
A breakthrough 2024/25 campaign saw Ethan make 37 appearances in all competitions, including 26 in the Premier League and seven in the UEFA Champions League. He scored his first goals for the club in September 2024, netting twice in our 5-1 Carabao Cup win against Bolton Wanderers, before opening his Premier League account two months later in our 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Emirates Stadium.
Ethan spent the second half of last season on loan in the south of France with Marseille, making 11 appearances in all competitions with the Ligue 1 side.
An England youth international, Ethan has represented the Young Lions at every age group from Under-16 to Under-21 level, making 58 appearances and scoring 27 goals.
We wish Ethan all the best during his valuable time with Borussia Dortmund and look forward to following his continued development.

The 29-year-old joined us from Manchester City in July 2022 and made 123 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 31 goals.
The Brazil international forward made 27 appearances across all competitions during our Premier League-winning campaign, having missed the majority of the 2024/25 season after suffering an ACL injury in January 2025. Before that injury, Gabby had been in excellent form, scoring a hat-trick against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup before finding the net twice more against the same opponents in the Premier League just three days later.
Gabby leaves us with an outstanding wealth of Premier League experience and a proven record of success at the highest level of English football. Across spells with Arsenal and Manchester City, he made over 200 Premier League appearances, scoring more than 70 goals and contributing to five title-winning campaigns.
A teenage sensation at Palmeiras in Brazil, Gabby made his first-team debut aged 17 before quickly establishing himself as one of the country's brightest young talents. He burst onto the international scene by helping Brazil's under-23s win Olympic gold at the Rio 2016 Games, and later that year made his full international debut. He subsequently represented his country at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
We thank Gabby for his contribution to the club during his four years with us and wish him and his family every happiness and success for the future.

Fabio Vieira has joined Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on a permanent transfer.
The 26-year-old joined us from Primeira Liga club FC Porto in June 2022 and made 49 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Fabio spent the last two seasons on loan, returning to boyhood club FC Porto for the 2024/25 campaign before joining Hamburger SV last season. He enjoyed a productive spell in Germany, scoring seven goals and providing five assists as the club competed back in the Bundesliga after seven years.
An impressive debut season saw the Portuguese midfielder make 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and assisting six times. Fabio’s form continued into the following campaign when he scored the winning penalty in the season’s curtain-raiser, as we beat Manchester City 4-1 in the shootout to lift the 2023 Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.
Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Fabio for his contribution to the club and wish him and his family every success for the future.
