A big obstacle to “post-racial” society is self-alienating minorities who blame everyone else for their own bigotry

A lot of people who aren’t white mainly feel comfortable with people of their own race, and this leads them to alienating themselves in places where they’re not the majority.

But because they believe they can’t be bigoted, they think it’s everyone else’s fault.

As a result, integration is more difficult.

casual hot take i really don’t care how long i’ve been with my partner, the second they buy a motorcycle i’m leaving

idc if we’re married or have kids, i’m not sticking around for it, and imo it’s actually 10x more selfish to pick up that hobby knowing you have kids at home waiting for you.

the most i can do is express my anxiety and heavily discourage them from doing it, but at the end of the day i cannot control a grown person’s actions. i’m the very last person to ever give an ultimatum in a relationship but at that point you would have to choose between me or the bike. way too much can go wrong and the risks HEAVILY outweigh the rewards.

and i don’t care about life insurance either. i would rather you be alive and healthy with me than be compensated for a 100% preventable tragic accident. no amount of money is worth losing the love of my life

no matter how focused YOU are on the road, there are hella people out there who aren’t paying attention and all it takes is one person on their phone cutting you off to either permanently disable you or end your life completely. while you’re out having fun riding at 100mph, i’d be sitting at home going crazy with constant anxiety and stress and that’s not something im willing to deal with ever.

casual hot take If you as a man can’t cook a meal without it being junk food you shouldn’t be trying to date.

I don’t care if you like women or men, or if their you’re non binary boo. if you can’t cook for your partner other than shit like hot dogs, fried food, burgers, and eggs you shouldn’t be looking to date anyone.

If you know how to beat eggs you know how to make 90% of sauces, but you only use ketchup and mayo you make me sick man…this is coming from a D1 Ketchup glazer.

Every meat is just a weird burger or steak, apply that logic and you can make a lot of dishes.

Stop spamming garlic and onion powder! Just put diced onions and minced garlic on the stove and let that shit get translucent like British teeth before put your food in and you can actually taste it compared to those veggie ashes. Unless it’s a rub you don’t fucking need it.

All purpose isn’t a substitute either, just because wet wipes says it’s flushable doesn’t mean you can flush it in every toilet, apply the same damn logic.

The amount of my friends that either don’t know how to cook or just orders out is sad! I just remembered most of my homies can’t even cook anything that doesn’t need to be flipped only twice and got mad lmfao.

Servers that complain about people not tipping are usually the shittiest servers. You don’t automatically get 20% for showing up, if you don’t like your pay go learn a marketable skill and change jobs.

serious hot take People need to stop excusing women being abusive just because they have Postpartum depression.

Yes, I heard about the Lindsay Clancy case and I got the main point of it. I am not referring to that specifically as a source because i don’t know much about it.

There has been men that get abused by their wives after having kids because of postpartum and if the man can’t appease her it’s his fault. It seems no matter what a woman does during that time people justifying it like she doesn’t know better.

If the woman is upset and constantly goes off on her family, “they must’ve not been considerate!”.

I always say that no matter what trauma or mental illness you have been through is an excuse to hurt other people. it can be a reason but anything more than that is dodging accountability and why they are as comfortable doing it as often as they are right now.

I’m all for giving people the help they need if they are going through something but the second they end up being either a leech or abuses others thats when I withdraw my support. It’s not hard to not hit someone.

You don’t put a baby in the oven because it’s crying set you off or pull a knife on your mom because she was slightly loud when y’all disagreed.

I don’t know how people justify this shit and say “we can learn from it!” Then tie their hands behind their back when they see this happening.

casual hot take the "gun and ball gamer" critique is entirely valid.

its entirely valid to critique someone whos entire catalogue and play experience consists in what is essentially the same 2 games reskinned, specifically when that person then tries to turn and critique the quality of a game in a style they downright refuse to play because they can't sit through a 5 hour story, because it ISNT a "shoot the ball in the hoop" or "fire a gun" game.

TLDR: my opinion about Clair Obscur or The Last of Us isnt going to be swayed by a guy who only plays COD and FIFA and is mad because the games made him think.

casual hot take Most anti-woke people are just bigots

Keyword: Most. As in 90%, the remaining 10% have good points.

I might just be naive, but it feels like most anti-woke people are just miserable or don't enjoy anything because they're so obsessed with hating minorities or groups they don't like. Most of the time online and even IRL, when it comes to a movie, game, or show, you see these guys throwing a fit because there's a woman or a minority. God forbid they're both a woman and a minority.

It's a bit odd to me because how do you enjoy any form of media at that point if you're so blinded by hate that any appearance of a minority, no matter how minor, completely ruins your enjoyment of the media?

I do understand some of the points from the anti-woke side. For example, if a queer character is in a show and they don't have any other characteristics besides being queer, that's just a lame character. Or if a character is added purely for PR points, that's also lame because there's no real point to their existence. Those arguments I understand.

What I can't understand is how some of these people can't enjoy anything that has a minority or a woman in it. At that point, are they just trying to escape reality, or are they trying to project some kind of fantasy world onto everything just for themselves while making it everyone else's problem?

serious hot take The reason “what if the roles were reversed” is such a popular argument is because there are no double standards favouring Whites over minorities or men over women

If you had some double standards favouring each group, it would broadly be seen as fair. Each groups would have separate double standards in their favour, but it would still be equal despite being separate.

The problem is that all racial double standards favour minorities over whites, and all gender double standards favour women over men.

For example, it would be fine for blacks to be the only race with an n-word pass if there was a corresponding double standard favouring whites, a corresponding double standard favouring Asians, a corresponding double standard favouring Greeks/Italians, etc…

It would be fine that men are the only ones drafted if we were also the only ones who could vote.

But when all the racial double standards favour minorities, especially blacks, and all the gender double standards favour women, that’s unfair to white men.

Furthermore, it also means there’s no incentive for white men to feel bad about the exclusion our ancestors did in the past - when the shoe is on the other foot, they are just as exclusionary of us as our forefathers were to theirs.

Also, the groups with the favourable double standards aren’t even the ones who had it the worst historically. Irish Catholics, such as myself, suffered more than any of the others, and unlike them, we didn’t deserve it. We never rejected Christ and his church like certain religious groups did, we developed an advanced civilisation on our own, we were innocent.

serious hot take For every clocky trans woman, there is a cis woman who looks just like her

Trans women have been a pretty big topic of discussion recently and every time I hear someone talking about the things trans women can / cant do that set them apart form cis women it is 9 times out of 10 something some cis women also can / cant do. For someone who holds strongly to gender rolls, "being a woman" is a very unique and personal thing as it is a part of ones personal identity. I am not a women in the same way that my mother is a women, and my mother is not a women in the same ways her mother is a women, that does not change the fact that we are all women. And I don't think some cis women realize that when they criticize trans women the target is also on their back, cuz all it takes is someone thinking you don't look right before they're asking you what's in your pants.

Edit: I am a cis women. And maybe I wasnt clear enough, I'm not saying cis women cant criticize trans women, ppl are allowed to be critical of litterly wtv they want to be critical of. I am saying the more you try to define what a woman is the more of a box you put us into. For example trans women cant give birth or have periods. But if we are lucky to live that long all cis women loose the ability to do those things anyway, does that make them less of a women? Not to mention the women who don't have kids cuz of disorders and simply just because they choose not to. Are those women less of a women because of those things? Another example ppl say trans women still look like men. There are countless cis women who have masculine features simply cuz thats how they look. Cis women shave their face and other body parts just like trans women. And even historically what it means to be a women has changed. We don't define ourselves by the same things women in the 1900s and 1800s did. Thoes women would probably think all modern women are sorry excuse for women. What it means to be a woman isn't a rigid checklist, it is unique to the individual and how they express themselves.

casual hot take Women are equally addicted to p*rn they just call it smut.

Smut serves the same psychosexual role it does in porn. The only difference is one is visual.

Also you'll notice that erotic novel consumption went up around the same time OF did in covid. And women are the main consumers.

I rest my case ✋🤚

hot take, harshly criticise me for it! Ozempic is cheat mode for fatties

Upvotes

Back before Ozempic and other “miracle drugs” for weight loss, people had to earn their toned body through good eating, exercise, and discipline. Ozempic bypasses all of this and lets the fatties shed pounds the easy way. And, let’s face it, not all of the Lard-o Calrissians have some thyroid disorder: they simply chose the path of least resistance (Twinkies and fries). Ultimately I don’t hate ozempic because it is getting people to lose weight, but most of the people on this drug would have stayed fat and unmotivated without it.

No one else is responsible for you feelings but you

Had a discussion with some friends yesterday about some girl who apparently thinks I’m creepy. They mention “Oh such and such is avoiding you because she’s weirded out by you” to which I responded “ok so?”. For about 10 minutes they’re just speculating on why she thinks that or just reiterating that she thinks I’m creepy and I continue to ask “ok what’s your point”. They make a lot of random reasons why I should care which don’t mean anything to me such as you should avoid her or something like that.

Why this girl feels this way, I don’t know and I really don’t care. I haven’t spoken to this girl in almost 2 months and even before that I had maybe 5 actual discussions with her over 5 months. If my presence makes her uncomfortable then it’s on her to deal with it but it’s not something that I need to think about.

I see this mainly happens with women towards men where men are meant to be responsible for the way someone feels about them but I think it applies to anyone and everyone. Your perception is not reality and of course you’re free to have your opinion, feelings and boundaries but you are responsible for your feelings, not them.

I’m noticing a trend I America specifically, but maybe in other places, where people are expected to change the way they behave and act just to appease others emotions.

Canadians have become completely delusional towards the US.

The headlines up here are nothing short of delusional and hysterical. There's a common theme we have been "attacked" by tariffs, and that we are "at war" with the US over a trade dispute impacting less than 5% of our exports. This has created a rally round the flag effect that sees the US wanting to invade us. People up here have fallen in to a real of delusional mass hysteria that I am firmly convinced will be studied one day. It's totally fucked.

r/HonestHotTakes 4h ago

People who don't tip and act like they're "changing the culture" are just pieces of shit who have managed to delude themselves into a rationalization that make 0 sense at all if you think about it for 2 fucking seconds.

Tipping is basically the restaurant giving you the option of not paying 20% of your bill.

Sounds great, why would you not save the 20%?

Except the management is making it crystal fucking clear, that if you don't, that 20% is coming out of the workers pay. Managers get their money regardless of what you tip.

So, really, you're just saying, "Fuck the workers, I'mma get mine."

And a preemptive fuck you to every comment coming that purposely misses the point of this little rant of mine. Some people really go out of their way to not understand shit and it comes from pedantic Redditors all the time. Show a modicum of critical thinking.

US people always bring the level of the conversation to zero

Hi. I know many people won't like this, but it's the truth. In whatever discussion US people takes the level to zero (0), specifically with their "Democrats vs Republicans" centered mindset. Not all the world is the US and political discussion is A LOT more nuanced than the basic level you have in your country made of slogan and cheap pseudo activism. Please US people, do better.

serious hot take The death penalty should be brought back.

Im just reading the contents of the David case and i wonder how this guy is still alive, but obviously my point extends to any case of rape.

Cause that is an act that has no rational excuse in my mind, there are many illegal acts people get penalized for that i find in some scenarios completely okay to do, like shoplifting in smaller crimes and murder thats justified.

But i truly dont think the rape of a person male or female is such a horrid act there is so justification.

As an agnostic atheist i don’t believe in hell and i do want these freaks to suffer but if you have enough power even jail isnt an issue id rather not walk this earth with them on it.

"Porn addiction" is just a nice way of saying "masturbation addiction"

I'm not really sure why this is the case, but it seems much more socially acceptable to talk about "porn addiction" than it is "masturbation addiction", and that's the hot take. I understand, and fully concede, that porn is certainly involved in the addiction, and that some people specifically use porn during each urgent scratch of the addiction, but it's being used as the fall guy for the deeper actual issue of masturbation addiction. It's not like the addiction was invented when porn came along. Plenty of tales of people masturbating endlessly on park benches and hunched over in dark alleys during the middle ages.

It's still embarrassing, but somehow it's much easier to look my boss in the eyes and say "sir, I'm sorry. I have a porn addiction" rather than "sir, I'm sorry. I'm addicted to masturbating in the office". Just sounds better.

MEN’S “BROTHERHOOD” AND FRIENDSHIP ARE MOSTLY A MYTH

Men’s “brotherhood” and friendship are mostly fake. I don’t understand how people still believe in this myth. Many men wouldn’t hesitate to sleep with their friend’s wife or girlfriend if they found her sexually attractive and had the opportunity.
Many men have slept with married or taken women and even bragged about it. Yet men still believe they are part of some kind of “brotherhood.” If a man is willing to sleep with another man’s partner, that tells me everything I need to know about how real this so-called brotherhood actually is.
I’m not saying every male friendship is fake, but I think the idea that men naturally have some deep, unquestionable loyalty toward other men is exaggerated. Sexual attraction can be enough for some men to betray that supposed loyalty.

serious hot take Redditors have a tendency call dating and financial successes as BS because they're inexperienced at life.

Upvotes

The only reason I still use reddit myself is because I'm big on nostalgia and a have a soft spot for my NEET neckbeard phase when I'd be on reddit all day.

But when I say I slept with around 40 women in the past three years since being a virgin or that I made a 500k net worth that I grew during that time while working multiple jobs, people call bullshit because "someone who could do that wouldn't be on reddit".

And when I share how I grew or how the average person can do just as well as me if not better, there's always something dismissive reason as to why that's not the case.

I don't get it.

And this isnt just me. There's a bunch of successful people I know who occasionally post on reddit and will get mass downvoted when the advice they gave is actually the reason for their success. It's almost as if a lot of people are too inexperienced to clock it

Lindsay Clancy Is

Provided Lindsay Clancy did kill her children (there's some that believed she didnt this is not for them despite the evidence. And admission to guilt.) There is no extenuating circumstance where she should not spend the rest of her life in prison. Under no circumstance is she fit for a civil society after having killed her three kids. That's it. Prison. Mental disorder and that is very clearly what this is is no excuse for killing your children And to add it was premeditated. She planned it.

casual hot take All girls must face mandatory screening for uterine conditions at age 16, because hidden hormonal imbalances impair cognitive performance and warrant accommodations.

After the age of 16, all girls should be tested for uterine conditions. Conditions like endometriosis and PCOS can mess with hormones that in turn mess with cognitive performance. In some ways, it acts as a silent impairment on daily functioning, focus, and overall capability.

A lot of times, the condition can be actively there but the physical symptoms are minimal, so it goes completely unnoticed while still draining their energy and mental clarity. Honestly, doing mandatory screening is the only way she can receive the actual support, medical care, and structural accommodations she needs in life.

Edit: if you’re here to say “what about boys?” Seriously? What about them? They don’t have a uterus. If you’re here to comment that then piss off you eggs.

DLSS 5 is good, actually.

i genuinely can not understand the hate towards it. first of all, because it is completely optional. no one is forcing you to use it, you can toggle it any time.

second - because it doesn't necessarily "ruin art style". this of course doesn't apply to all games, but many games DO want the photorealistic art style DLSS 5 is providing, only that the models during gameplay are naturally lower quality than they would be in a cutscene, DLSS 5 is simply providing that in real time. this applies to TLOU, RE and cyberpunk for example.

third - graphic mods do the same thing as DLSS 5, yet no one complains. enhances the appearance, ruins art style and is completely optional.

fourth - it objectively doesn't even look that bad.

that is of just my opinion, anyone's free to think what they want. i guess i was just more annoyed at how many people keep mindlessly hating on it in gaming subs without paying a second thought to it
