Rainy day

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone happens to know where I could find calçots (the Catalan-style green onions) in Toronto. I know they’re out of season right now, but I’m just curious if anyone has seen them available anywhere in the GTA, either fresh or frozen.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations or leads. Thank you so much!

I had to make jambalaya at work yesterday. This is approximately 2.5 pounds of onions. I feel like these may be rookie onion numbers, what do yall think? 🤔

Vidalia onions. Salt. Sugar. Deglazed with peach vinegar.

I prefer mine grilled, but a good raw red onion has its upsides. I‘d love to hear what the onion senseis of this sub have to say.

this took about an hour and a half. i am absolutely hooked. i had seven cats around my feet the entire time, and i blame them for the moistness. (do people still fear that word?)

Ratio here was about 75% onions to 25% everything else. Most everything on their menu is just like this, I love this Chinese place so much.

Usually when I order extra onions, I get skimped. Glad whoever made this understood the assignment.

Growing up my grandpa would always offer this to me as a snack while my grandma cooked dinner. Pretty simple! Take the end of a green onion, lick it, stick it in a bit of salt, and bite.

As a kid I didn't appreciate it, but as an adult I always save these for a little snack while I finish cooking.

Not only is dog seriously less than worth but I just needed a vessel for a ton of grilled onions. Very sad

For any Danes here, check out your local bazar, as many have good offers on onions, here 25 dkk for 5 kg. For the none Danes, it's about 3.34 € for 5 kg, and is often on offer for less!

I usually buy the yellow onions in a small bag for $1-2 but I don't really like the taste.

White on the other hand is very delicious but so expensive. I bought a good size one and it was almost $3. It's the ones they use in stir fries in Asian restaurant and take outs with chicken or beef and bell peppers.

Is there a reason why it's never sold in bulk like the yellow variety and why is it so expenive? Does yellow eventually turn into white if you leave it long enough like how green bell peppers become yellow and red.

These are so massive!!

The local taco shop that I ordered from today gave me this huge bowl of onion for an order of 34 street tacos. The whole break room will smell like onions for days! 😋
