On track, it suddenly was down on power, came into the pits and it sounded like a 2cyl. Came home, took the valve cover off, and found the top of the bucket had broken into bits and the wall of it stayed intact, falling to the bottom of the spring. You can see some chunks of it. Boroscoped the cylinder & I’m staring at the top of that exhaust valve, so it dropped a valve too. Drained the oil and… voila. That’s the end of it.

It had UKRS springs, that’s all I know. The bike ran like shit originally. Stator and rectifier shorted to ground, brake lines kinked, rearsets bent, midpipe kinked, MC failed. Finally got that all fixed, then this happens. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well

Anyone got a first gen 675 motor in New England? In the meantime, I just picked up a 765 to finish the season.

I was at Sonoma in intermediate group for a track day riding my ninja 300. During session 3 of the day, I sadly crashed at turn 9 (bus stop).

I've attached a clip that mashes up videos from my rear-mounted insta360, my in-helmet cam, and a rider following me respectively.

This crash has stumped me so far. This session, I was actually focused on my exit drive at turn 11. At turn 9, I'd say I was spending at most 70%-80% of my max effort. I was not pushing at all. In fact, since an earlier crash in Laguna Seca (grabbed brakes hard) and subsequent discussions with some ChampSchool peeps, I now prefer long, light braking to the heavier, shorter style. At this turn in this session, I was not at all fazed by my entry speed nor was I panicking. Not a walk in the park, don't get me wrong.

I felt my front tire go over something rough and slip out. Soon enough, I was sliding on the asphalt :(

On the same day as the crash and at the same event, I showed the videos to multiple trackday instructors separately and independently, there's been no consensus on why this happened. I've heard cold tires (fell on my left and had mostly been through right turns?), bad line, slippery curb, etc. I'm trying to look within but I can't pinpoint what I did wrong (I'm guessing I'm not at that level yet?). I have my personal suspicions but I'm not very certain and if this is a vague case, I'm worried to sort of bias folks towards a certain theory.

I'm now presenting my case here hoping experienced folks could guide me to what I need to work on. Please, let me know what you think and feel free to ask any clarifying questions. I do have brake/throttle data set up for logging on my bike and I did press record before the session but after the crash, none of that information could be recovered :(

Just saw this ad on instagram and it ticks me off. It’s clearly a ai picture if you zoom into the torso and the right leg they don’t even line up. The bike is a cross between a motoGP bike and maybe a r1 idk. I don’t watch motoGP so this could be a full blown GP bike which would be even worse.

Just sad to see what this racing series is becoming… pay $100+ just to watch the races then they want you to spend more and buy some ai slop that any real rider would notice right away is fake.

Back in July we posted here about TrackTutor, the lap analysis tool we have been building. You upload a session from whatever logger you already run, and it breaks every corner into phases so you can see where the time actually went.

In the last few months we added quite a lot of new functionalities, and polished other functions. Right now, we just launched the first iteration of our biggest feature yet: Trackday Prep

Your booked days live in a calendar with their own screen. Open a planned day and TrackTutor reads back every lap you have ridden at that circuit and ranks the corners where you are losing the most time against your own best. Each one comes with an explanation of what the numbers suggest and something to try. Never ridden the place? It shows you onboard video of the layout instead of an empty page, matched to your bike where it recognises it.

- Our trackday prep lets you choose three goals to work on. Corners it suggests, a drill it offers, or something in your own words like "body position". What you commit to is locked in with the numbers it was measured against, so nothing shifts under you while you ride.

- Upload between sessions and it tells you what happened to each goal: gained, unchanged, or went backwards. If something else on the circuit turns out to be worth clearly more than what you picked, it will say so, but only when it is genuinely bigger rather than marginally.

- Afterwards, every trackday gets a report: what you set out to do, how each goal ended, and the session by session trail of how you got there. Your next day at that circuit takes the outcome into account, so a corner you have just cracked does not get handed straight back to you.

Another big feature we totally rebuilt was our maintenance module, it now accurately tracks wear and maintenance history. Set your setup(s) once, upload a session and TrackTutor automatically updates your components. Also you can now see when you added or changed components and what you changed them for.

Everything else we updated since the start of our open beta in July:
- Added support for GoPro as telemetry device. On a GoPro Hero 9 or newer, you can connect to your camera with our app to download the telemetry directly to TrackTutor. Videos are never uploaded and never copied, only the telemetry data from them is read.
- Starlane support added.
- If your device is not recognised, you can submit a sample file and we will add it.
- Compare laps by distance or by time, with sortable insights.
- Suggest a missing track and we will review it and add it.
- Redesigned public share pages to show more info and with metric and imperial switching.
- And a pile of fixes: duplicate uploads, phantom out laps, corrected speeds on older sessions, and signing out properly clearing cached data on shared devices.
- The Android app is now properly available for everyone on the Google Play Store

This was my 4th trackday and I lowsided my R6. Does anyone have thoughts on why it happened so I can learn from it? It was my 2nd lap of the 2nd session, thought my tires were warm, wasn't pushing like super hard I felt the pace was easily maintainable but somehow ended up lowsiding. I'm trying to undestand if it was bc of body positioning, just cold tires, footpeg scraping etc. Any tips are welcome, just trying to learn from My mistakes

I would like to share a service I built based on my own needs over this season, trackdayz.io.

Insted of checking multiple organizer websites whenever I wanted to plan trackdays, i decided to pull them together into one calendar. This idea has grown from there into a small platform for finding upcoming motorcycle trackdays and other features me and my friends found useful or fun.

Right now it mostly covers organizers and tracks in my own region, because that’s where I ride, but I’d like to expand it over time, especially if other riders find it useful.

What it does right now:
- browse upcoming motorcycle trackdays in one place
- filter by country, track, and organizer
- view event details, prices/status when available, and organizer links
- see circuit pages with upcoming events, layouts, organizers, and lap-time records
- add your bikes, log lap times, and compare on leaderboards
- mark the trackdays you’re joining and keep them in My events
- add rider friends, message other riders, and join event message boards
- give you a sharable profile with your best laps, future trackdays and socials, if you set it up

Got sick of the DDA software being so trash for an $800 option, so I started out by taking an evening vibing up a converter to get the data off their fancy USB stick and into a CSV format for RaceRender, etc.

Then I said hell, why not just continue and make the tool I want? So two days later, here we are. The local converter is a python script with a gui, which that either converts to a usable format or generates a self-contained HTML file that is totally cross platform and offline. Nothing touches the internet except to pull satellite image tiles.

Then I made it so it can output custom video overlays with alpha channels so you can plop that on your video clip and have some data. Might have been inspired by world-class racing series when I styled them. Sample at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK0NfyUadV8

Will this make me any faster? Not on its own.

Is it cool as hell? Yea, I think it is.

I'm sure the R6 is better handling like everyone says, but I thought the difference would be bigger. I want a middle weight bike that I can install a blipper on. Now I'm considering an RR. What are some other affordable middle weights to consider?

Can't race on an empty stomach. When I'm away for 3-4 days I can't prepare everything in advance. Looking for inspiration when it comes to

What do you prefer to stuff your mouth with that is easy to cook and can be prepared with a minimum of cooking utensils.

My current track bike is a 2020 R3, i’m looking at buying a set of tyre warmers. However i’m wondering if it is worth me spending extra for Digital Warmers that can set the temps manually up to 109 degrees?

I currently run Bridgestone RS10 tyres but have a set of V02 takeoffs to put on. After that i will move to slicks completely.

It’s $279 AUD for the Analogue (3 settings 60/80/95 degrees) or $339 Digital. Is it worth it? I figure most smaller profile tyres/slicks you buy will only ever need a max of 80 degrees. When i move to a bigger bike i will need a new set of warmers anyways?

I’ve got an Aprilia rs660. My maintenance guy found a nail in my Diablo rosso 4 rear tire. He told me that it would be fine to place a rosso 2 for the rear despite the front having a rosso 4. Is this safe or should I get get another rosso 4? For context I’m a novice rider and this is one of my first track days and first track day with this specific bike.

On some tracks, my Street Triple RS '17 with Rapid Bike Race and blipper tries to kill me, by suddenly blipping the throttles without me shifting, especially with higher (> 10k) revs. In a brake zone.

Talked to a friend, mechanic and racer later – that's what broke his collarbone. Twice.

I had reduced but not solved the problem by lowering the sensitivity and setting filtering to 2 – not sure about that value. If I look at the signal in the Rapid Bike, there is always a slight variation (like noise), and wiggling the shifter makes this larger. My shift lever is slightly lose on its axis and could maybe use a plastic washer or new bushings.

So, do you know that problem and how did you solve it?

Hello there! After a couple of years riding through the mountains, I’ve decided to try my first track experience in Misano, together with some more well-experienced friends.

I’m a bit anxious about riding on a much wider road and having to find completely new reference points. To make things easier, I’ll have a trainer with me during the morning session, so I can get familiar with the track and hopefully enjoy the experience with less panic and more fun.

Do you have any advice you wish someone had given you before your first track day?

Im looking to get some general advice on my body position for corners. I usually practice on some smaller 150cc’s as it’s a little cheaper.

New bike this year, upgrading from a 03 ZX-6R to a 2011 S1K.
Of course the power is a massive change, it feels great not be constantly overtaken on the straights by people that then end up holding you up in corners.

However, the biggest difference is how comfortable this thing is, allowing me to work on my bodyposition.

Been running this A Nucleon KR1-Cell back protector have 11 TDs on it this year and still feel restricted. My neck gets super sore trying to keep my head up. Admittedly my A* GP Plus is a bit snug in the shoulder area, the back protector makes it worse. I’d love a custom suit with airbag but that’s not in the budget right now. I do have a single snap in the back of the suit but no pocket or anything.

Any advice on a slimmer or even smaller? Back protector?
