Discussion & Feedback Power lines should be obstructions

First of all, its not going to be implemented in game unless the dev team wants it to be. Don't cry about people discussing changes, they can just be fun discussions, nothing more.

Here's my arguments for why power lines should have hit box collisions.

  1. Power lines not having collision actually affects a lot of potential landing zones and landing patterns. This would limit LZ choice for fast pilots or inexperienced ones and encourage more caution.
  2. More pilot skill expression. People hitting power lines and exploding is a learned consequence of dangerous flying. Good pilots have hit things, blown up and grown in skill from it. Bad pilots have not yet had the opportunity.
  3. Power lines are hard to see. Further delineates good pilots that are cognizant of the map or have the wherewithal to notice utility poles and the common sense to know what bridges the gap.
  4. Realism. The game is arcade as hell, but nothing reminds you more of that than when your entire helicopter phases through trees, buildings or powerlines. Powerlines don't have hitboxes at all, unlike the other two that have partial.

Edit: Nobody can read (see: fun discussions) and ig people would rather just have no discussion. Thanks to everyone who provided input without spiraling out into a little validation tantrum

Discussion & Feedback Stop downvoting people who are asking questions and curious about the game. You guys literally ruining this game for new players and creating a toxic 4ss community. Is that really what you want?

I got downvoted to hell for a question. And I noticed that its a common thing here, other people's questions got downvoted too. This is how you guys gonna treat new players? This is how U wanna build up the community/playerbase for this game?

I know its Reddit but damn guys... Be better.

Question Didnt have the time to join the playtest, how does it compare to arma 3's koth?

Hello,

im super exited for this game as Im a huge arma 3 koth fan with hundrets of hours in it.

I didnt have the time to join the playtest as I was on vacation at the tine.

How similar is the game to Arma 3's koth? Does it feel more like a mil sim or battlefield-esque? Are armed vehicles balanced to be realistic or to be arcady? Is sniping with tanks possible?

Discussion & Feedback When will most players start to build FOBs outside of the towers ?

It is really boring to always play the same towers all the time…
Do we know if the towers will at least change locations on the maps sometimes cuz it feels like only 25% of the map is played…

Question Simple question

I did not play the beta. Very interested in the game. Quick question for the progression. The way I understand it is you can progress your kit as you play it to get unlocks. Like better find and helicopters etc. then you can. It them with your money.

So when the games over and you start a new game do you already have that higher tier unlock available to start with?

And if so how would the game balance it so one team isn’t just stomping the other cause they have the best gear right away?

Thank you!

Discussion & Feedback This sub is already over reacting

I'm seeing half the posts on this sub sitting at 0 downvotes, and most of them aren't offensive, bad ideas, or poorly written. Some guy will just be like "Here are some cool grips they could add to the guns!" and it'll be mass downvoted instantly. I get that people don't want this game to skew too far off of the current vision, but chill out a bit? Maybe engage with an idea instead?

Hype & Speculation Banter between the 3 Teams

I only play as the blue team, so naturally I have begun separating myself from the other two. I have been referring to the green team as “boogers” and the red team as “cherries”. What are your thoughts on how to improve the friendly banter between teams?

Question Does anyone know if levels will be wiped

Like I've seen a lot of people say class levels will be wiped I think a dev also said something like that but it was rather vague while the community manager on steam said only cash is wiped not XP as the progression is very long

Does any of you guys know if levels and xp are wiped

Is the only friction after a wipe to pay the unlock fee or unlock fee and hit that level for that class again

Question Any steam machine users?

Did anyone here by any chance launch the game on a steam machine?

I didn’t get to play in the beta at the weekend, as someone running just a steam machine nowadays for their PC gaming I’d like to know if this game will run at all well on it?

I know someone got it running on the steam deck on YouTube (albeit at very compromised settings!) and the devs have said they are adding support for proton / Linux OS, so my question is more about performance than whether it’ll actually launch.

I’d be playing on a 3440X1440p monitor, but would be happy to run in windowed (1080p etc) mode if it means I’ll get 60fps at a good graphics level still, but ideally I’d play full screen

If it’s a disaster on the steam machine, then I may have to wait for the console release when the game reaches 1.0!

Discussion & Feedback Giving lore to the 3 factions.

I hope one day they actually bring some lore or atleast background for the factions. Like Lonestar is an American merc group, Valkyrie is maybe mix of Russian and Chinese, many core is a mix of European.

And then they can make one very high level gun or equipment only exclusive for each faction.

But this can be much much later. When 1.0 hits

Discussion & Feedback So what's the "Huge Announcement"?

Now that the beta has been announced, what do we think the "Huge Announcement" will be? I'm hoping that they are upping player count to 120. Maybe that will be part of the stress test.

Discussion & Feedback I built a free WARDOGS Shots-to-Kill / Time-to-Kill calculator ahead of Early Access — looking for feedback before launch

Hey r/WarDogs,

With Early Access dropping Sept 10, I put together a quick tool to help figure out loadouts: https://wardogscalc.com/. Punch in a weapon/armor combo and it spits out shots-to-kill and time-to-kill so you can compare guns without doing the math yourself mid-match.

It's a personal project, not official, and it's still rough around the edges — I'd rather find the bugs and bad numbers now than after launch. If you have a minute:

  • Does anything look off or miscalculated?
  • Any weapons/attachments/armor types I should prioritize adding?
  • What would actually make this useful to you as a player?

Drop suggestions in the comments or just roast the UI, I'll take it. Trying to get this solid before the 10th.

Question Varying Payouts

Was just watching Peanuts. He kills a guy for $3500. Few seconds later, gets another kill for $4000. Then a third for £4500. Fourth at the same reward. Then $5000 for the fifth. Then another for $2750. All in the same building. How does this work?

Discussion & Feedback An idea for doors being left open

Allow us to build an upgraded door that consumes a small amount of fuel per minute per door that will auto close after a certain amount of time (say 15 or 20 seconds so you can open a door and drive a vehicle through).

It would help keep doors closed in case of some idiot but would be a tangible upgrade that needs constant upkeep and supplies from base.

If you didn’t have fuel it would behave like a normal door.

Discussion & Feedback Don't let streamers ruin this game

WarDogs has something genuinely great going for it.

King of the Hill is a perfect example.

It’s a concept that hasn’t really been explored by a huge mainstream audience because historically it has mostly existed through mods and niche communities.

WarDogs has a chance to take that kind of gameplay and build something special around it.

What worries me is seeing the same pattern that has hurt other games: a game gets attention, streamers become the loudest voices in the room, and suddenly development starts revolving around whatever creates hype, clips and short-term engagement.

Please don’t make that mistake with WarDogs.

Streamers can absolutely help a game grow, but they shouldn’t define what the game becomes. Their incentives aren’t necessarily the same as those of the people who will still be playing two or five years from now.

I also really don’t understand the hype around Peanut. His style isn't for me at all, and I find a lot of it pretty cringe.

But more importantly, I don't think any streamer—or their fanbase—should be treated as representing the entire community just because they're loud or have a big following.

Milsim and tactical games especially need to acknowledge their core player base. A lot of those players are older, less hype-driven, don't spend their days arguing on streams or social media, and may not be the most visible part of the community. But they're often the people who stick around.

Listen to streamers, sure. Listen to new players too. But don't forget the dedicated players who actually want WarDogs to remain WarDogs rather than chasing whatever happens to be popular this month.
