Which style/type of beer do you like the most? Which do you hate/like the least? Why do you like/hate these type/style of beer?

I recently started drinking craft beer and I like stouts and new england hazy IPAs and dont like west coast style IPAs.

Over in Ireland here, have worked in bars and would consider myself maybe a little snobby about beer although not really 😂. Our beer is pretty good here especially draught, though not too big a fan of bottled and canned beer just not really the same. Had a mate just back from New York there and asked him to grab a can of Coors Banquet for me, just always wanted to try it for some reason probably here, plus the can is cool so. Anyway just after cracking it open and really surprised at how good it is. On par with pints I’ve had of draught, fairplay. Actually a bit annoyed because I can’t get it over here 😂 if you’s would have any recommendation for something I can get over here would appreciate.

This is going to be a long shot so here it goes...buddy of mine is getting married and his favorite beer of all-time is Redhook ESB. His fiance and I want to surprise him with it, however it seems as though it is impossible to get if you don't live near the state of Washington. I live in Columbus, Ohio and my buddy lives in Newark, NJ. Any help/suggestions on how to get my hands on any of it? I tried delivery orders from multiple sites and even the Redhook finder to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated for my pal as a wedding gift. Thank you in advance.

Anyone ever notice that calling a beer “light” could have 3 different meanings? Is there a correct definition, or is it all just context dependent?

1) Light beer with light (or lite) in the title. A beer specifically brewed to have minimal carbs. ie. Coors light, Busch light, Miller lite

2) A beer with an ABV on the lower side

3) Light in appearance with a lighter color

I am trying to find beer with the same taste I experienced around 2008. I believe it was Great Lakes Oktoberfest because I remember the 6 pack art being a painting of people in a Biergarten. It had a distinct bitter taste. I’ve had Great Lakes Oktoberfest many times over the years but it doesn’t taste like I remember back then. I assume the recipe has changed. Am I crazy or did it used to taste like that and are there any beers out there today with a similar taste? Thank you.

A friend of mine is in his 80s and mentioned to me recently that he used to love Barley Bright but they stopped making it years ago. I can't find any mention of it online and I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find it, or something very similar. He's helped me out a lot recently and I'd like to get him a treat. I'm in the UK if that helps, Any advice or recommendations would be very much appreciated :)

Posting here because I feel like I’m going insane and need to know if anyone else has had a similar experience. Went to 3 Brasseurs, a chain brewery in Montreal (I went to the Vieux Port location). First time in Montreal, no issue with any other beer here including some local brews. First beer was their standard lager, which had an extremely strong cereal grain flavor that I’ve never experienced in a beer before. I was immediately not a fan, but I thought “OK, this is my bad, as it was advertised as “céréaleé”. Finished it mostly out of politeness and decided to play it safe with their version of a NEIPA, something I’m very familiar with since I’m from New England. This was even worse than the first. Still had the same crazy strong cereal grain flavor, but when mixed with the fruitiness of an IPA it genuinely tasted like drinking a liquefied stale cigarette. Not trying to shit on Montreal or Quebec beer as this was a total one-off experience, but just genuinely curious if anyone has had a similar experience at this particular place or any other. I’m not picky about beer and can mostly drink whatever even if it’s not something I’m super into, but never before in my life have I had a beer that was so off-putting. Is it possible that this was a bad batch? I’m not really familiar with the brewing process or what signs to look out for in that regard. Anyway sorry for the long-winded post, any input would be greatly appreciated to put my mind at ease!

I’m having a problem at work - whenever I’m running line cleaner (which is connected via a pump) the fob detectors empty and the float drops after only getting about half a pint of fluid through the line.

This means I’m constantly climbing up and down the ladder into the cellar to fill up the chamber and click the bottom to refloat the ball.

I’ve tried increasing and decreasing the pressure on both the line clean pump itself and the individual beer lines but it still empties after almost the exact same amount of fluid.

During busy times this is becoming a pain so any ideas would be very welcome :) thanks

I like clean tasting lagers like Miller, Heineken, Asahi, and Corona, but those self-proclaimed beer experts always tell me that they’re not good. All they ever recommend are these super bitter beers I’ve never heard of or even seen at grocery stores. They’re bitter as hell, like drinking cold syrup. Why do they think only bitter beers are considered good beer?

Recently Pabst had a whole bunch of beer stolen recently. Beer it wants back.

The Pabst Brewing Company is asking the public for help after more than 40,000 pounds of beer was stolen in what may be one of the largest beer heists in history.

Montclair Police said Friday they are investigating two cargo thefts from the Anheuser-Busch distribution center in Montclair, California, at least one of which involved a truckload of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Pabst said it would give the thieves 18 days and 44 minutes to return the beer in its Aug. 21 post – so the clock is ticking. The company is also offering a reward for help solving the theft.

Pabst beer? Seriously? Aren't there better beers if one is going to make off with beer like that?

Went on a cruise a couple years ago and discovered Paulaner weissbier, loved it but forgot about it until I saw it recently in my local supermarket (US). This has sent me down a path of drinking every German import ive been able to find. The Paulaner Munich Lager Helles was fantastic, now trying Warsteiner Pilsner and it too is a fantastic drinking beer. I dont know what it is, I love Yuengling as im from PA but these beers so far have been perfect to me

My stomach isn't the strongest and I find some alcohols / beers mess with me more than others. I'm just trying to find something I can pick up regularly and rely on, I want it to go down as smooth as possible and I hate fake liquor like twisted tea.

I bought a bunch of 750ml Allagash Curieux (and some variations https://www.allagash.com/beer/ale/curieux/ ) when my son went off to school - and then life intervened (heart attack, cancer) and I got distracted.

Now I realize I have these bottles that have been sitting in a fridge - unopened. Just pour them out? Give them a shot?

Spent most of the summer trying different beers from LCBO and the Beer Store, and somehow I keep ending up back at these three.

3 Speed just hits the spot for me — crisp, smooth, and ridiculously easy to drink. Kozel has a bit more malt character and feels a little richer. Czechvar is excellent too, especially if you're into that classic Czech lager bitterness and balance.

I've tried a bunch of others along the way, but these are the ones I'd happily buy again every time.

Curious if anyone else has similar tastes. Based on these three, what should I be trying next from LCBO? Paulaner? Pilsner Urquell? Something else I'm missing?

I feel like a lot of people hate on Bud Light but in my personal opinion it’s a very solid lager at a great price. It’s also very versatile. I like drinking it pretty much every season, though I do prefer Guinness in the cold months. Saturday morning working around the house or mowing the lawn? Sipping a Bud. Saturday afternoon watching some football or grilling some burgers and links? Sipping a Bud. Folding clothes? Sipping a Bud. Sunday evening meal prep? Sipping a Bud. Taking a shower? Sipping a Bud. Writing this post? Sipping a Bud.

I grew up in India associating beer with one Hindi word: kadva -कड़वा, bitter. Whisky was different. I kept bottle-price spreadsheets, had Lagavulin 16 marked "must buy always", and used Laphroaig 10 as my smoke experiment. Wine got actual study through WSET and the Wine Scholar Guild paths, plus tasting plans before trips to Burgundy and the Loire. Bier got a rejection slip.

Then, on 10 July 2026-two days before my birthday-my German friends Johann and Mario offered me a Natur Radler during the Spain–Belgium World Cup quarter-final. It was cloudy, lemony, spritzig and suspiciously süffig. Mönchshof became the bottle that broke my old model.

Naturally, I opened a spreadsheet.

I checked exact product identities, official brewery pages, BeerTasting and Untappd scores with sample sizes, community discussions, a comprehensive Stuttgart store-and-delivery list, and local prices by litre excluding Pfand. The audit corrected several earlier mistakes: Waldhorn was not unreviewed, one metallic comment did not make Warsteiner an "avoid", and several supposed delivery matches were actually different beers from the same brewery.

My personal top three remain:

1. Mönchshof Natur Radler -my reference bottle.
2. Hochdorfer NaturRadler -the strongest top contender I can get delivered.
3. Gösser NaturRadler -the broadest positive public consensus.

Gruibinger, Rothaus and Schönbuch are my next trials. Alcohol-free products now have a separate ranking, led by Mönchshof 0.0%. The store list contains 18 exact mixes: 12 alcoholic and six alcohol free.

I also wrote honestly about why Indian mass-market beer left such a scar. The evidence now includes the 2024 expired-beer seizure, CAG-documented beer-testing failures, broader Maharashtra FDA enforcement from June 2026, and FSSAI's August 2026 laboratory findings against misrepresented spirits. The last two strengthen the quality-control concern, but they do not prove that all Indian beer is adulterated. That distinction mattered.

The next step is not another rating site. It is an Augustiner Hell vom Fass in Stuttgart, followed by a tasting ladder through Weissbier and eventually regional Bier across Germany and Austria.

I live in New York and would love to know if there’s a readily available Mexican Lager out here on the east coast. 2 of my favourite beers (Dos Aranas - Spider Bite Beer, Green State Extra - Zero Gravity) have been seasonal only and it’s incredibly disappointing when I clean out the local distributor (again).

Is there a brewery that does a delicious Mexican Lager continuously? Is that even a thing?

I don’t MIND drinking Modelo if there is nothing available from smaller breweries, but I really prefer the fresh tasting craft stuff.
