I kind of starting having my doubts and started not liking the guy when he missed that wide open tackle on Dak that led to the Cedee's 92 yard TD against us back in 23. It was literally a wide open tackle and I 100% think we would've won that game if not for that.

I feel like in general he's been super underwhelming, constantly getting burned in coverage and missing tackles. Watching him getting routed up by Jameis Winston this past year was kind of my last straw.

Derrick Barnes ranks for 2025: 112th in tackles, 123rd in tackles for a loss, 88th in sacks (zero sacks in the last 9 games), 90th in interceptions. Zero forced fumbles, zero fumble recoveries. He was targeted 27 times in pass defense and the opponent caught 24 of those for 89% completion percentage against. All this playing 85% of the snaps. 41st/88 LBs per PFF.

At least from what I've seen and the stats, I just haven't been impressed by this undersized 6'0 LB.

Does keeping 4 TEs and just 4 WRs on the active roster imply pretty substantial 13 personnel usage? Was Dortch maybe just too small to run a every man blocks type of offense? Tay is 6'3 185, maybe that helps explain it.

Does anyone know why you can't find Alim McNeill jerseys anywhere? There are none in any color on Lions Supply, Fanatics, or the NFL shop. So I was hoping his Rivalry jersey would be available since he was in the launch images, but the collection went up on the store today and still no Alim option in the Lions shop.

The weirdest part to me is that if you order a custom jersey, he seems to be the only guy not listed on the drop down player list. You can manually fill out 54 and his name, but the jersey still won't be correct because the name plate comes out as "MCNEILL" with a capital C — his game jersey reads "McNEILL."

So what's the deal? Is he in some kind of licensing dispute or something?

Technically the Bills only signed him to the practice squad, so the Lions could still bring him back as long as they put him on the actual 53-man roster.

There is a rule where they cant poach another players practice squad players for the 6 days leading up to the game, so they would either have to bring him back prior to the 11th or wait until after the bills game week 2.

It seems like toe perfect of a fit for them to just let him walk right?
