Just what is hypergryph planning with Endfield?

The next update patch tomorrow is going to have only 1 new 6 star operator as well

Ts is failing on retaining players I reckon

18

u/tagle420 5h ago

After the super long single banner that was 1.2, I'd expect HG to at least shorten the patch length. But here we are with another single banner 1 month patch which could causes another decline. Doesn't seem HG is concerned with the trend.

17

u/Yomnuro 5h ago

I mean global feels lukewarm about the game but how does CN feel about it? On their bilibili accounts its just people glazing them, doesn't seem like they have a lot of criticism for them.

Also unrelated but this just reminded me of something.

My brother was in Shanghai last month for a business trip and they just gave him a Endfield bag and some others stuff in it for just walking down the street, he threw it away on the way to the Hotel because he doesn't play anime games in general and they fucking gave him another one

If their marketing team is this aggressive half of the nation has to be playing it

u/Vyragami I quit gacha why am I here 58m ago

You got it reversed, if the marketing is that aggressive then they're trying hard to attract new player or bring old ones back. Ask your brother how many times he saw Genshin-related promotion out in the open.

11

u/Ahenshihael Arknights 4h ago

Bilibili comments will always glaze the game that's just reality.

Look at overall discussion in socials and all. Most of discussion it generates comes from casuals and newcomers. There's very little fan content being made for Endfield overall, none on the level of AK community.

A lot of CN CCs that focus on AK have started ignoring Endfield.

Sure global is more critical but even CN aren't that hot and at best it's "Eh it's fine".

Even KR comments are treating game as average or mid at best.

u/Yomnuro 3h ago

Yeah but let's be real if CN doesn't raise a stink about it they are not going to do anything about it because those are still their biggest spenders and if they are fine with it the devs will be as well

53

u/lezerman 7h ago

People said the same thing in the Zhuang Fangyi patch, the reality is it's not a hyped character that is going to bring people back to playing the game. Everyone knows it.

16

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 4h ago

Why would anyone come back? What is there to even play? Who is this game actually for?

The story is bad for people who care about story.

The combat is bad for people who care about combat.

The gacha is bad for people who enjoy gacha.

The factory is bad for people who enjoy simulation.

The goon is bad for people who goon.

So what’s left?

The only remotely good thing about this game is the extremely subjective metric of optimization and "muh aesthetics". And apparently, that’s supposed to carry the entire game.

Take away the pretty graphics and the optimization circlejerk, and there’s basically nothing here for anyone to actually play.

u/gonzo5970 3h ago edited 3h ago

There was a post on the endfield subreddit going into meticulous detail about how the endfield gacha system was actually more generous than Hoyo/Kuro gachas are.

Bro wrote an entire PhD thesis on this. And the general consensus from the community?

"Yeah, it still feels bad"

And thats all there is to it. The off-banner rate can be 3%, 6%, 10%, w/e. If you're still making people pull 80-120 times for the rate up character, it just feels bad, period. It doesnt matter how many copies of Last Rite I get, I still have to spend a months worth of savings for a single copy of a rate up. Y'know, the character I ACTUALLY want?

Endfield's gacha just sucks. There is no way around it. It really sucks and nobody likes it.

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 3h ago

This is peak double standard in the Enfield fanbase.

When defending the gacha: “Dupes don’t matter, bro. It’s only a 5% DPS increase!”

Then you lose five 50/50s trying to get the featured character and get a bunch of garbage dupes: “Why aren’t you grateful? Those are FREE dupes!”

So which is it? Are dupes worthless, or are they suddenly valuable consolation prizes?

You don’t get to change the value of dupes depending on which argument makes the gacha look better. Pick a lane.

9

u/Equal_Tradition_5420 4h ago

bruh you droppin' a TRUTH BOMB!!! there nothing in endfield lol... glaze story... 2010 combat... cash grab gacha... no goon chars... their designs are boring imo... graphz and loyalty to hypertip is ONLY REASON to play...

-3

u/Hades_Re 4h ago

Without reasoning this post is as good as a cow sleeping on the street. It’s only annoying

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 3h ago edited 3h ago

Stop being annoyed, that's in your hands.

There is nothing to say. There are billions of comments here with the reasons. But you chose to pick the lowest hanging fruit where you can try and "fight back" and reclaim your gacha's honour, lol.

Stick to your bubble in the toxic positive cesspool sub buddy. The unofficial AKE subs are better anyways.

u/Hades_Re 2h ago

Wow, how much wrong assumptions can someone put in one comment.

I don’t take part in any Endfield community. I play genshin right now mich more than Endfield, I also care for other games like Uma more.

What I do is to educate you simpletons what I means to understand the world.

And calling your own comment the low hangers fruit is brilliant. Your comments have no worth

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 45m ago

How does it feel to put in 100% of your effort in trying to save Endfield's reputation but failing to gaslight players into trying it out?

Every month less money, every month players leave and no one joins. Keep fighting and claiming the game is peak, maybe a five year old will get gaslighted into installing it. Unfortunately that five year old doesn't have any money to spend on the game still.

u/Pr0Legolas360N0Sc0pE 2h ago

That guy's copy pasting the same message in this whole thread, just the usual tribalist hater nonsense. I trust as a Genshin player you saw similar nonsense getting launched against that game as well.

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 47m ago

Legolas, you really got a Google alert set up for whenever a Bumfield thread starts in r/gachagaming and follow me around like you have got nothing else to do. 😂

How does it feel to put in 100% of your effort in trying to save Endfield's reputation but failing to gaslight players into trying it out?

-23

u/Decent-Ad-2755 6h ago

The average players doesn't have the brain to do the factory period, even with blueprint YES you read that right, and if they do HAVE the brain they DO NOT have the patience Tiktok brainrot or whatever, it is what it is.

some high schooler in America can't even read..

15

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 4h ago

Oh please, Arknights is way more tougher to wrap your head around and it is doing fine. Don't blame TikTok.

12

u/Killjoy3879 5h ago

Shouldn’t the same be said about og arknights. There’s quite a few modes and fights that are pretty rough

8

u/Yixussy 4h ago

Blueprint is not a solution. “You don’t like the core gameplay? Why don’t you copy someone else’s work every 6 weeks for that, and stick around and spend monies pls?” If someone finds factory boring, they leave. Unless they are masochist to play a game they don’t like, in which case fair play. Masochism is a kink after all.

And if you genuinely think Endfield’s barebones factory needs brains, that speaks a lot about your intelligence. Really embodying the Endfield elitist stereotype with your comment.

This has nothing to do with liking a feature or not.

Gacha player have 0 attention span, can't read and are more focused on how much they get to gamble per patch than anything to do with the actual game.

10

u/2B____ 5h ago

I'm a strategy fan Xcom, Starcraft, Age of Empires, Company of Heroes have a very good PC and i find the factory system to complicated and tedious to do on PS5 Pro. I like the story, world but man the factory system is a turn off, i don't like it.

5

u/cranberrymaple 4h ago

Ok barring the US if we want to believe what you said, how does that it excuse the fact it’s also doing terrible in other regions, even back home? Nothing to do with the average player, everything to do with the content the game has.

31

u/littorio Genshin | HSR | ZZZ | Nikke | Endfield | CZN | NTE 6h ago

unpopular opinion, but I feel like Endfield needs to cater more toward factorio/satisfactory players, aka factory lovers.

- Give us logistic system to play with instead of instant transportation like black magic.

- Give us more vertical production ramp up that goes through multiple production process instead of only using the latest shiny metal added to new map

- Increase the cap on facilities we can place on map, let us reshape the world. Stop making map so convoluted for a one-time story use. Make a wide open map like Valley IV

- Give us more options to do with stock bills. Heck, let players directly trade factory produced goods to other players' hub instead of superficial buy low sell high system we have right now. Factory production system + player economy would be nuts.

- Make characters we pulled more involved in day-to-day AIC operation. Might as well give them production passive (which synergies well with above suggestion about player econ sim) if devs aren't going to give us more combat scenarios to use them in.

Like games like GTA VI is coming out, more direct competitor like Silver Palace and Anata are also releasing soon. Like why would Hypergryph make most graphically appeasing gacha game + one of the most solid foundation (factory gameplay) to play with and do nothing with either 😭

9

u/waiting4signora Just waiting for signora atp 5h ago

There are train rails on the map. I pray for them to get us trains.

9

u/Ahenshihael Arknights 5h ago

Absolutely true.

They failed to get that Genshin crowd they dreamed of and drove away the core audience that is STILL making AK a success.

They need to deepen the factory gameplay, shift combat towards more tactical and focus on regaining AK players and attracting tactical, building, and factory players into the game.

6

u/DerpTripz 4h ago

I agree with this, I think doubling down on a niche to attract a entirely separate corwnd instead of trying to get a piece of an already fought over pie would be a better outcome for the game in general.

37

u/neclaabla 7h ago

I think they will re-design the game ZZZ style sooner than later. They are severely below their competitors. And now with Silver Palace on horizon, i reckon they will try to swing it big

9

u/Defiant-Seat5425 6h ago

yeah need to remove or simplify that factory gameplay like tv in zzz. some people like it but majority thats not familiar with AK not

18

u/Khoceng 6h ago

maybe simplify and not remove, cause good god, the new materials needs to be processed so much, my base is basically rats nest, like 8-14 raw materials that is processed 6-8 times just for 1 output, then there's also waste material

even Satisfactory put waste stuff at the end and they feel useful! because FICSIT do not waste

3

u/Defiant-Seat5425 6h ago

i prefer both, makes it optional like you can skip it or simplified it of cannot skip like wuwa did with puzzles, don't force it on players.

many gacha players like me too lazy to use brain or search on internet lol

26

u/BeastX_GUDAKO 6h ago

With Endfield they tried to have their cake and eat it too. Appeal to the more mainstream/casual demography with a more generic 3D action combat system and try to get the OGs with the IP and factory.

At least in my anecdotal experience, this didn't really work. The mainstream audience hates the factory, the OGs hate the story and often don't care for the combat.

I think you're sadly right in that they likely will make the factory easier or less relevant, because the other option of overhauling the entire combat system to try and appeal more to the established Arknights audience is almost certainly not going to happen.

5

u/Defiant-Seat5425 6h ago

agreed with your point, that's literally the problem because they can't make up their mind on which audience they want to target lol.  need to sort that out first, most gacha usually get the idea after 2-3 patches but endfield dev kinda slow, no idea what they are thinking.

20

u/Venvut 5h ago

Nah, the factory gameplay is its big differentiator and it’s honestly fun. They can continue to simplify it, but if they remove it they destroy the soul of the game. They have pretty much zero endgame though, so why pull for characters? They REALLY need to work on a reason. I think the bones are good, it’s my favorite current gacha, but they desperately need more reason to keep playing. They improved on the story pretty drastically in the last two patches and I like where it’s going, but I still feel little reason to keep playing in between patches.

But I play this and Infinity Nikki so I am the niche weirdo this appeals to loll

4

u/Defiant-Seat5425 5h ago

yeah but people who like it are niche minority like you sadly, their choice is going all in with people like you or abandon it if they still want to target mainstream audience, cannot do both or its gonna flop like now lol

20

u/Killjoy3879 5h ago

I would genuinely quit if they did that. The TV was ass in ZZZ but the factory gameplay almost has me wish this wasn’t even a gacha.

14

u/Saahil_08 GI/ZZZ/HSR/Endfield 5h ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/X6lrsqspAJIcybTo9L

Exactly my thoughts ZZZ already had a very solid combat system and endgame focus since the beginning but Endfield's entire soul is Factory everything is build around even the open world so removing it is equal to declaring EOS and I DO NOT want that.

0

u/StarlightKnight2101 5h ago

That pretty much outlines the reason for why it’s failing no. With such an in depth factory system being the major point of the game, what purpose do the characters serve and why even bother pulling potentials for them. It completely half asses the character aspects of the game which is why the game is in the state it is.

5

u/Defiant-Seat5425 5h ago

honestlt endfield need to decide what they want fast, they only got teo choice, keep the factory but give up on mainstream audience, or remove it if they want to pursuit mainstream audience, cant doing both.

7

u/tagle420 5h ago

Factory will stay that's for certain. They were very clear about it from Gamescom panel. They plan to expand on the system. Things is we won't see any of it this and next patch.

2

u/Defiant-Seat5425 4h ago

yeah means its gonna make mainstream audience away lol and gonna flopped harder, unless they are ok with what they have now, but surely that's not gonna sit well with investor because they want to see growth

2

u/Killjoy3879 5h ago

I just don’t think they have too lol. The primary issue people have is with the story. If you want to skip the factory you can copy and paste a blue print which takes 5 minutes.

10

u/MidniteCowby 5h ago

The problem is that the BP system is really tedious.

You cannot just simply select a factory and plop it down, no you have to copy 5 or so different blue prints and align them properly which is just tedious.

-1

u/Killjoy3879 5h ago

it's 20 minutes of work that'll last 6 weeks or more...at that point i just don't know what to say.

u/mutabila 18m ago

For me, it's 20 minutes.... but only after you manage to upgrade the areas to the max to use the most efficient blueprints (because the max expansions are required for space) and then it's only useful for a couple weeks before they release a new region and then all the armor is blocked again. I genuinely wouldn't mind it as much if all the armor wasn't blocked behind the factory, but it is and it's frustrating, and way more of a time investment to get to being able to do the 20 minutes of placing blueprints.

I'm still hanging in there because of Ardashir yearning and I enjoy the robot puzzles, but I shouldn't be dreading new regions just because oh gods, I have to max everything out and set everything up again.

5

u/Defiant-Seat5425 4h ago

20 minutes kinda long and tedious for typical gacha gameplay though.

-5

u/Killjoy3879 4h ago

20 minutes that you spend once every month and a half or more? jesus christ man do you even like playing games? That's such a painfully lazy thing to admit to.

-5

u/DerpTripz 4h ago

I'm sorry but that's a severe lack of attention spam. Literally looking at a 20min in depth guide from Kyostinv that's literally just plug and play and literally handholding atp can't be too hard no?

1

u/Dynamite600 4h ago

Thats what they have decided to do, they've said time and time again they are sticking with the factory.

Noticed this with early days ZZZ, people always say they gotta change one of the things that makes a game unique. You guys just want to play several games that are all the same?

u/Defiant-Seat5425 3h ago

problem is endfield want to be unique with factory but also same with action gameplay, those 2 dont mix well becaymost action game players dont like puzzle/managing gameplay.

they need to pick one and drop other.

u/Dynamite600 3h ago

Doing that would be a sure fire way to kill the game.

Also, the game is still doing well? The action combat and factory works just fine and where have you seen people complaining about managing and puzzles? I think youre just trying to use personal experience to speak for others.

u/Defiant-Seat5425 3h ago

managing/puzzles is factory thing im talking about, of course there is minority of people who like both but lots of people getting filter out because of factory, most casual just want easy action gameplay.

other gacha know about how tedious/boring minigame can filter out many players, hence why when they include some puzzle gameplay, it will be easy and short, or letting player able to skip them entirely with hint or simple skip button. you cant force tedious minigame in action gameplay. if you want to make it long that just make the game that focus on factory only, not with action gameplay just to bait casual mainstream audience

u/Dynamite600 3h ago

I think its great that there are developers out there trying new things instead of just copy pasting their own version of a old formula. I think Hypergryph were well aware they wouldn't hit revenue levels similiar to Genshin, and that's absolutely fine, a game made for everyone is a game made for no one.

Also, factory mode in Endfield does have a 'skip' button, Blueprints, it doesnt take long to copy one and then you dont have to deal with it for several weeks if you dont want to.

5

u/Ahenshihael Arknights 5h ago

Other way around.

They need to redesign the game to attract AK players back since attracting casuals didn't work.

5

u/Defiant-Seat5425 4h ago

the thing is AK players dont like some mainstream thing like action combat so its not that easy to redesign lol, might as well make new game much easier.

u/Ahenshihael Arknights 3h ago

If they could flip combat to action like half a year before release, they could flip it towards tactical like before 2.0.

They just need to add the old skill targeting and make future characters have more complex skills and more tactical combat going forward.

u/Defiant-Seat5425 57m ago

that's lots of rebalancing to test lol but i can see it could work since its more familiar to what AK players like

1

u/Alterated_user_229 5h ago edited 4h ago

I quit the game because of the factory gameplay. I mentioned in my feedback back then I wouldn't be back unless it was completely removed. But at this point it's probably too late, my interest is gone.

12

u/Dynamite600 4h ago

Just accept the game wasn't for you and move on. Not everythings gotta be tailor made for you.

u/MidniteCowby 1h ago

That's what people said about the ZZZ TV gameplay who actually enjoyed it. But the game would be most likely dead by now if the had never changed it.

Something that I must admit, even as someone that really enjoyed the TV segments.

u/Dynamite600 1h ago

I see your point but at this stage I dont believe Endfield could remove the factory without harming the game nor do the devs want to.

Zzz devs made a kneejerk reaction and struggled to establish the story and characters as a result of it for a long time.

At this point we cant expect every game to be the same, and eventually people just have to accept that not everything will be to their tastes.

3

u/Alterated_user_229 4h ago

I'm not sure I follow you. Isn't it clear that I accepted the game wasn't for me? That's why I quit. Is it that weird of a concept that people quit what they don't enjoy? I even said my interest is gone.

u/Dynamite600 3h ago

You left in feedback that you wanted them to remove the main feature of their game lol. Its like loading up a CRPG and complaining its not an FPS.

u/Alterated_user_229 3h ago edited 2h ago

What's the problem with leaving feedback? The devs can choose to ignore it. Or follow it, like with TV mode in ZZZ. In zenless TV mode was integral at launch and was removed. Also, what I actually said was I wanted full automation so I didn't have to interact with the system. I didn't actually ask for full removal.

u/Dynamite600 2h ago

So why say in your above comment you wanted it completely removed?

Either way there's nothing wrong with leaving feedback but as some point you gotta just accept that something isnt broken its just not for you.

u/Alterated_user_229 2h ago

I expressed myself badly. I meant I wanted it completely removed from my playtime. Full automation would mean I would never interact with the system, so fully removed for me, but it would leave it in the game for the factory players.

Also, as I said, I did accept the game is not for me. At this point even if they implement full automation it's very unlikely that I return, unless they also add other things I want. But the "it isn't broken" is debatable, since the game clearly underperformed economically.

1

u/Defiant-Seat5425 4h ago

yeah, they dont learn from zzz sadly.

1

u/Alterated_user_229 4h ago

People still defend TV mode, but I only started ZZZ once I heard TV mode was gone.

-1

u/Defiant-Seat5425 4h ago

kinda same problem with factory in endfield, cannot skip either and takes too much time.

i don't think its bad as it is, but its not a good mix with game focus on action gameplay.

u/White_Shadow7 3h ago

lol, 0 chance they remove it. They even said in 1.4 live that it would be more financially viable to drop it but they wanna stick to it cous they love doing it.

u/Defiant-Seat5425 1h ago

i mean its not wrong if they not greedy for more money, 10+ mil still lots of revenue any company will be happy to have lol

u/Siri2611 1h ago

Yeah lets just make another 3d open world slop, that's just a genshin copy

u/Defiant-Seat5425 53m ago

That's what people like though, people never get tired of open world game.

even for non gacha game, open world game like gta are very popular, people never get tired of it.

u/Siri2611 18m ago

But do we need more tho? Not really

16

u/littledeerspace HoYo / Kuro / IN / RE1999 6h ago

Genuinely I log on, pull the character (if i can without spending), play the story, and log off till next patch. The story is improving but overall the game just has really nothing going for it.

7

u/x2oop 6h ago

So the same as HSR, yet they are almost always in the top. HSR playerbase is more and more dissapointed by the Hoyo approach to the game, yet we don't see drop in the revenue.

13

u/mybankpin 5h ago

HSR still has access to the casual fanbase that doesn't really care about things like powercreep. If characters pretty, story interesting, or gameplay fun, that's good enough for them. Getting your opinions on Reddit/Twitter/Bsky is not going to be remotely representative of casual players because most casuals don't engage very heavily with a medium outside of the medium itself.

Endfield's factory gameplay is involved enough to push away some casuals.

16

u/littledeerspace HoYo / Kuro / IN / RE1999 5h ago

HoYo has a way firmer grip on the fandom as HSR has been out for many years so things like routine and lost cost fallacy need to be taken into account. Most people didn’t like Endfield at launch and only stuck around to see if it improved, which it didn’t enough.

I’m someone who doesn’t enjoy what HSR is now but I still play it daily. There’s parts of the game I do like and characters I like, and I’m interested in the story which I believe is still good. A big part of this is also that HSR dailies are automated (I put my phone down and check it in 5 mins) while actually using stamina in Endfield is quite time consuming without the extra claim currency.

3

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 4h ago

Their CEO hates to hear it, but HG isn't Hoyo.

-1

u/Equal_Tradition_5420 4h ago

hsr char design is 10 times better than endfield lol... HOWEVER i agree both games DO seem to be played CUZ hypertip loyalty and hoyo...

8

u/UsefulFeed8826 5h ago

I stopped playing endfield in 1.4. I lost motivation to play the game in general. Idk how they will fix it tbh

14

u/Pale_Let3756 6h ago

Marketing sucks I mean + low player retention

12

u/crazy_leader22 6h ago

What's wrong with the marketing?

14

u/andre5n 6h ago

A lot, releasing the 1.4 livestream before 1.3 main content even started, giving the Livestream to IGN, sponsoring variety gacha CCs that proceed to only get 20% of their average views every single patch, zero help to the dedicated CCs that actually play the game, generally spending big money doing big events like the gamescom panel and having zero uptick trend on new players, wasting the network effect of having the biggest launch outside of Hoyo gachas. I mean what have they not fucked up marketing wise.

4

u/Sierra-117-Mobile 4h ago

They keep doing hyped reveals on IGN instead of their own channel.

And then release on thier official channel.

The views on IGN are like less than half than on their official. Don't know why they pay money to IGN to market.

3

u/StrawberryFar5675 4h ago

Waste of money lol. Most of IGN viewers are very negative towards gacha.

u/BCA2118 ZZZ | HSR | GI | WW | AK | NtE | Trickcal | Morimens | AKE 2h ago

6

Marketing team is half decent - they hit all needed big gaming events and all that.

The issue is that they have barely anything to work with.

They could have showed massive trailers in Gamescom and NotE3 that show how game is turning around but they just had 1.4 content instead.

Even best marketing can't save game that doesn't do anything to be saved.

-3

not sure wtf is up but this happened:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Endfield/comments/1w0t0al/hypergryph_has_rented_a_37floor_high_total_90k/

My guess is they make more on PC, international, while other games make more domestically and on mobile.

10

u/Ok-Ride6728 5h ago

I can't see a bright future to endfield unless they revolutionize in 2.0, if the game even reaches that point

-1

u/raineFF 5h ago

Chill dude, how many mobile device can play this game pretty well? A lot of players will most likely be on PC. So it makes sense for mobile revenue to be low.

u/Ok-Ride6728 3h ago

Endfield does not have what it takes to take off at the moment, too average at everything in a really saturated market, and a game like that I imagine is really expensive to maintain running

u/BCA2118 ZZZ | HSR | GI | WW | AK | NtE | Trickcal | Morimens | AKE 2h ago

why would they be expanding then, if they felt the game was doing that poorly they wouldnt have that confidence

u/a_stray_ally_cat 21m ago

Biggest problem with Endfield its the factory integration with character gacha.

Some players love factory, some hate it. However the fundamental problem is character themselves have nothing to do with the factory gameplay.

Its the same issue as TV mode in ZZZ. TV mode itself is "fine" and innovative in its own way. However the character you pay $$$ does not appear in TV mode or being used in any meaningful way. This is why they ditched the TV mode and made the characters move around in game world directly.

Its the same problem in Endfield. If the game is sold on character gacha, you need those characters to DO stuff in the game to justify the purchase. If players are spending a large amount of playtime on factory, where characters do nothing, why pull?

6

u/Interesting-Soup286 7h ago

That's what i was curious too. Endfield seems to have really slow rate of new operators while OG AK pumping out new ones constantly.

44

Duh, arknight operator is basicslly just a jpg while Endfield operator is 3d model.

Endfield is doing fine. + Like 70% of its revenue is from pc and console. Not to mention those mobile revenues are estimates and nothing more. Ye, hoyo games and some other games are doing better than endfield but endfield is far from eos more like each patch is better and better.

They have some weird ideas when it comes to marketing, they teased Si and she was very positively received by the community, they have a quite hostile gacha system although if you do pull to the guarantee it's actually quite fair, so people will save up for her.

They then decide to run a banner with an operator a new player like me has no idea who is and then later they're gonna have a rerun of an old character and then most likely some horse guy before we get Si.

So naturally, i will just save up and skip everyone, very strange business move. But it seems like they release their banners in accordance with the story and if that's the case, huge respect to them for not just releasing one fomo character after the other and destroying the overall plot just to bring hyped characters to us quicker.

compare AK and AKEF, I will just say make 2d idea to 3d model is really hard. I can always know what spark art come from AK, but for EF is just feel like other gacha

They had an absolutely massive venue over at Gamescom. I'd say, let them cook as always Sensortower is sensortower. GFL2 was doing worse after 6 months and it's still chugging along.

And then they are already changing the gacha rules on a rerun banner..... bruh the devs are lost.

Next update is filler patch and that new operator is probably the ugliest they had so far (yeye her png in og ak is loved by the shills nobody cares), its going to do even worse this month. They need major overhauls to combat and char designs, make the factory completely optional and do some sort of game relaunch then MAYBE theyll get some players back.

Yeah, so basically what you say, the need to become like all other gacha games, without their own identity.

Right, now they have so much identity! Like copy paste combat or the most watered down 3D gacha storyline, both of which competitors do better than Endfield nowadays. The only identity Endfield has is base building that is not deep enough for fans and only irritates casuals. On all levels, it is so mid and uninspired, it is already like all other gacha games with worse events, worse character design, story and combat, not that bad, but average or below average in all fields.

70% or more of their revenue comes from PC, which this graph doesn't track.

It's easier to do factories in PC than mobile.

In comparison, OG Arknights has more % coming from mobile. Until this month, it did not have a PC client.

Global didn’t have a PC client*

Most of the revenue is from CN’s Angelina alter banner I think, and they already had the PC client for the past 6 months

Also, if it’s really 70% (I believe it’s even higher, closer to 80% tbh), then Endfield got 21-25M this month, which is basically the same as OG while being a much costlier game to maintain. I really hope they can do better, and while I trust HG figure it out eventually, this one will be tough.

I think the main 2 things driving people away is the shit story at the beginning and having to re-do the factory every patch (not the factory itself)

The story of Arknights isn’t the best at the beginning too but the bad part is really short compared to Endfield which requires 10s of hours for you to finally reach the good part, when in Arknights it’s like 6 hours of reading at most while also having the anime as an option to skip the beginning of the story

Idk what they will do to the factory but I hope they don’t remove it, the problem is having to re do it not the factory itself

Edit: also, Arknights story at the beginning is not as bad as Endfield’s too, which is a complete nothing burger. I honestly think they will have to remake it entirely, since even if they keep releasing good new stories, a new player won’t see these stories until they’re 50 hours into the game

When does the good story in endfield start?

u/billyshears55 ARKNIGHTS 2h ago

I heard that the 1.4 story was great, Haven’t seen it myself though. If 1.5 continues to be good maybe it’ll motivate me to continue through to see it

Next month gonna be Waterloo for Endfield mains

For doom, for hater, have a field day, it's surely gonna be worse for AKE than this, sure you'll love it

Typhoeus Yvonne rerun both are not so popular, got same  element as hyped character Arcane - in big half anniv pacth 1.4 ,  no sign of long awaited Si

They don't care about engagement, after hype big patch, whatever, drop the excitement to 0.

They have all necessary materials to 📉 📉 📉
