Is this study helpful, and did I do okay? What can I do different?

I'm new to studying form and I'm struggling a lot with overwhelm from too much information. I'm following a suggestion in the documentary Learn to Draw Comics the Marvel Way, I know this doesn't look Marvel lol but I've never tried drawing shapes for bodies. It seems like I did it right, I feel like the anatomy mostly makes sense? Idk lol any critique is useful

hello! now that im getting close to the year mark of startin to pursue art im finally choosing to get out my comfort zone. as always im open to any crit! im not good at drawing torsos but theres always time to learn, we never really do stop learning dont we? :)

Right now I'm drawing for 10–15 minutes once per week, which I don't feel like is too often. So how long would you suggest I draw every day or week?

this sort of exercise centers around one vanishing point and i understand that each cube is tied to it. but it seems like there are no other things which connect the other cubes. each cube has its own other vanishing point (or points for the 4 in each corner.) i just dont understand how youre supposed to know at all where these points lie. i thought 1/2/3 point perspective can describe a scene but it seems like it can only describe an object within a scene

help! how do i figure out where to put the vanishing points of each square! i have no clue how to correct myself when i do this exercise!

I’ve been doing a lot of drawing on my tablet lately. This app allows me to overlay images and videos too on my drawing applications! It honestly works great for my workflow (Especially now for my animation work).

When learning about how to draw humans I have been told to practice gesture drawing over and over and over, so I've been practicing it, this has truly been the most angry and frustrated I've ever been doing this. Im drawing all these gestures, but I feel no closer to drawing people. This place has been amazing for getting advice, i probably just need some rest. Your help and advice would be appreciated

id like to get my friend to 3d print me a skull, however having never handled a skull, i dont know which of the models floating online are proportionally and anatomically correct. having accurate proporsions is more important

So I kinda feel like the eyes are very flat and I’ve tried erasing and redoing the shading but I feel like nothing worked Any tips would be realllyyy appreciated

I like the pure blue background, but clouds might be nice? But if I add them, it could take away from the main subject. I just draw as a hobby, so any ideas?

Just updating from my post a few days ago. I’m still trying to learn to piece everything together. Not at all a spectacular artist yet i know; I got too confused trying to figure out how to draw the head. I sort of worked out some other problems while drawing that I fixed to the best of my abilities, but I can feel there are a lot of other problems with it that I can’t quite define fully.

Last post seemed to get a lot of responses about using a reference so I tried that and it definitely helped, though I wasn’t able to eyeball everything into correct proportions, I think the figure overall looks better and closer to a human than before.

Overall just trying this even though I thought I wouldn’t be able to get as far into it as I did has me feeling like I can understand some books a little bit better now if I reread through them.

Lol randomly got the urge to draw for the first time the other day and have been having a blast! Any tips other than 'Just do it a lot'? Quite literally am at level -1. Am mostly interested in drawing with a ballpoint pen so far

I’ve spent many hours now trying to get a realistic sketch of Lucy Gray Baird from the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I know I’m not a terrible drawer, and I’ve succeeded with portraits before, but I can’t seem to get a likeness here! I am drawing it fairly small, which is likely contributing to my challenges. I ultimately want to paint this, but I need to get a solid drawing down before that, and I’m really stuck. Any tips or advice hugely appreciated. I’ve done a couple versions of this drawing but I’ll just share my best one, as well as the reference photo.

i have a very big frustration rn. i stopped drawing for 6 months and felt like i forgot everything i learned. i used to be able to just look at reference of real people and draw them semi realistically. but when i came back, its like i forgot everything. so its either i just got rusty or i didnt understand what i learned at all. i came back following tutorial of a new artist who's art style i like. i did this so much cuz my drawings came out so nicely. but when its actually time to draw by myself i find myself not knowing what to do. or even if i memorize the steps, its like i cant do it without physically seeing someone do it first. it just ends up looking bad. but when i follow a draw with me, even a fast one, im able to draw it and make it look really nice. do i just lack the skills in decision making when it comes to art? how do u fix this?

Looking for some feedback here! Im still a beginner and have been practicing almost everyday, mostly focusing on form, anatomy, and light & shadow.
Im trying to learn how to choose different colours for my base, light, and shadows using the colour wheel, but I find it so confusing. I also get a little intimidated when looking at a reference cus I’m always thinking, “what if I choose the wrong shade?” “what if experimenting ruins the whole thing?”
{I know I’ll eventually understand it with enough practice, but I’m such a perfectionist in my head that I end up freaking myself out before I even try lol.}

How do you guys choose those unique colours that aren’t necessarily present in the reference, but somehow still work beautifully with the light and shadows?
Always blows my mind how some artists do this so naturally.

Would really appreciate any advice or resources for learning colour better!💫

This is the most challenging drawing i have done, as Iam still new to drawing.

I think this is because of a lot of foreshortening. At first that made me draw much worse shape, but then i utilized negative space much more and it became like the picture which is much better. But I know it is still far from perfect, so feel free to give feedback!
