RUNNING TRAIN RT Polish Liveries 2: Branchline Boogaloo

There's more! This time for the KR5000. 3 liveries based on different stages of life of the EN94 trainsets: as built (with decorational circles standing in for headlights), 90s post-ZNTK Bydgoszcz with yellow front and 2003-withdrawal red and blue. There's also one livery based on the narrow gauge MBxd2 railcar, from which I got the idea for a big "FAUR" lettering on all liveries.

Like when I go on zusi 3 datenbank i find timetables that I don't have, are they modded or does my installation have issues? Is there a way to filter to have only vanilla ones?

UK Railway Tycoon

Hello all.

I hope you are having a pleasant bmk holiday Monday?

You may remember about a year ago I launched a game called UK Railway Tycoon. Due to not being happy with the initial design and the flow of the game I went back to the drawing board and decided to take it offline.

However, after much work I am now in a position to start revealing details about the new game.

A deep, data-driven UK Train Operating Company (TOC) management simulator built in C#/.NET, focused on real-world rail economics, route tendering, and operational reliability.

DfT & Open Access Bidding: compete against AI rail groups in government tender boards (Passenger Service Contracts) or take on full farebox risk with Open Access paths.

Realistic UK Rail Economics: Balance Network Rail Track Access Charges (FTAC & VUC), passenger yield models, and rolling stock leasing fees.

ROSCO Fleet Management: Lease bi-mode, electric, and diesel multiple units (from Class 800s to Pendolinos and Turbostars) based on route electrification and passenger demand.

Schedule 8 Delay Attribution: Real-world delay mechanics—claim compensation from Network Rail when infrastructure fails, but pay out when fleet breakdowns or crew shortages cause delays.

Passenger Satisfaction & Delay Repay: Maintain your Public Performance Measure (PPM) to protect your operator reputation and avoid massive Delay Repay passenger compensation payouts.

Spreadsheet-Deep Management UI: Designed specifically for management and tycoon purists who love detailed ledgers, timetabling, and financial forecasting over casual graphics.

You may be aware the last version of the game was web based, however I have decided to make this desktop only and for Windows

When the game releases it will be available on a website with a demo version of the game available for free.

Any questions or suggestions please let me know. I'd be happy to hear them 😄. If you would like to beta test the game please also let me know.

Player made map of this Minecraft (with rail and cart plugins) world's multi-line rail and freight infrastructure that is used for actual in-game transportation and logistics

Post image

This is a map of a continent-wide rail network to link main settlements, industrial zones, and coastal ports. Once the main lines were complete, the map was put together to track line hierarchy, route efficiency, and major transfer junctions.

You'll notice several long, perfectly straight lines running directly across ocean gaps. Rather than snaking around massive inland seas, these were engineered as direct inter-continental causeways and submerged viaducts.

The very in-depth system even has automatic routing features and high capacity express spines designed strictly for long-haul freight and rapid transit between regions.

The network includes multi-tier transfer stations situated at major bottlenecks (like Elysium and Tidehold) that handle switching between express spines, local loops, and coastal shipping spurs.

Building straight across major bodies of water took massive structural investment, but cutting out thousands of blocks of coastal detour made it essential for long-haul line efficiency.

If I want a train game with "simple" controls, where am I best starting?

So long story short bought Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor on a whim has been monopolising my gaming time these last 2 month, which is surprising considering a remake of my fave console FPS, came out within that time frame (one sentence review of Halo Campaign Evolved? "Its a solid 7/10, but wait for a sale honestly.")

Anyway, been really enjoying it on the "realistic controls" which basically means you can have the throttle /brakes applied at certain percentages rather than just n holding down throttle and braking being "on" or" "off" as needed

So I decided wanted something a little more meaty so tried Train Sim Classic and Train Sim world 6 (got em both for £6)...and got immediately intimidated by the start-up procedures , and especially on driving the steam trains. I'm wondering if there's anything that can optionally control like Wonders of Sodor...or am I gonna just have to wait for Train Sim 7 and see what it's simplified controls are like?

I wanna try the others again eventually but just wanting something a little easier to start off with

30 stations: including Paris, Rouen rive droite, Maromme, Dieppe and Many others

rolling stock: 231g558 pacific, bb67400 with the RRR(rame reversible régionale) regiolis x84500 and ZGC Z 27500+regio 2n

**scenery:**from paris suburb to Norman countryside and the sea at Dieppe

would you like drive this line in tsw? let me know what you think!

ps full project here on the official forum: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/suggestion-paris-st-lazare-dieppe.99244/

I built transport simulator, focused on trains, running in browser

It's called Rail Island. It is inspired by Transport Tycoon, but focused on building, without economics. There are many transport types (buses, trams, ships, aircraft, cable cars), but trains are the main focus of this game.

I'm building an Open-Source Procedural Train Simulator with two engines: a modern 3D view and a classic 2D ASCII Terminal. Just released v1.0.0-beta.2! 🚂

Hey everyone! 👋

I've been working on
\*\*LeTrain\*\*
, a procedural railway logistics simulator written in Java 17 using LibGDX. The twist? You can play it seamlessly switching between a modern 3D engine and a classic, hardcore 2D ASCII terminal mode.

I just pushed a massive update (\`v1.0.0-beta.2\`) and I’d love to get your feedback! Here’s what’s new:
\*   🚦
\*\*Speed Signals:\*\*
You can now place speed limit signals on your tracks to control traffic flow. (Fully modeled in 3D and integrated into the terminal UI).
\*   ✨
\*\*Massive 2D Terminal Overhaul:\*\*
The ASCII mode now uses continuous box-drawing characters for tracks, crossings, and dead ends. It finally looks like a proper retro management game! Added smooth blinking animations for loading/unloading stations too.
\*   🚂
\*\*Reversing & Physics:\*\*
Completely overhauled the coupling physics. Reversing trains (or running double-headed consists) now works flawlessly.
\*   ⌨️
\*\*Better UX:\*\*
New unified camera deadzones and much better hotkey handling for semaphores.

\*\*Where to get it?\*\*
It's completely Open Source! You can download the ready-to-play \`.zip\` files for Windows/Linux (or the Snap package) directly from the GitHub releases page:
🔗 \[GitHub Repository & Downloads\](https://github.com/antoniovazquezaraujo/LeTrain)

I'm currently working on adding a Passenger Trains economy based on procedural city sizes and punctuality. If you like management/automation games or Java/LibGDX development, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

First post- A trip with a diesel loco in TD2

A few shots from my run with an ST44 to Tomaszów on Train Driver 2. I'm hauling a 200m long intermodal train.

PS I really love the forest area around Mlynary (2nd photo)! In that area, which lacks a catenary line, which consequently makes an electric locomotive unusable, the speed goes down drastically, descending from the one met on the newer and tougher tracks (100-160 km/h) to a mere 60 km/h, which, together with sharp turns, the absence of guardrails and less tolerating railway tracks makes it incredibly easy to derail. However, especially during the day and at the sunrise/sunset, the view is stunning, since you've got the Sun in front of you and the incontaminated forest (which the developers absolutely nailed). During rush hours, the line can get busy since there is only 1 track which is shared by trains from both directions. Hope you'll like it!

Microsoft Train Simulator? (AI Rendition)

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Who here would actually enjoy a Microsoft Train Simulator franchise? I'm curious to know what the demand is.

I understand most of you are all mainly into flight simulation, as am I. But I do share a passion for trains as well.

If you don't already know. There are three main train games on the market.

- Trainz 2022 (N3V Games)

- Train Simulator Classic (Dovetail Games)

- Train Sim World (Dovetail Games)

There is quite a bit of a limit to train simulators because they never have caught up with the rest of the games on the market. Train Sim World is the most up to date when it comes to graphics and releases, but it has limitations and it doesn't replace its predecessor Train Simulator Classic.

A new franchise by Microsoft using their data could end up being one of the best train games ever released. Similar to msfs2024 they should hire 3rd party developers to make the vehicles, and some developers could even make enhanced stretches of routes.

The entire world would be modelled. And world updates would revise routes that are lacking in detail.

Developers could make addons that enhance routes via a marketplace or their own website.

A subscription method could be used to fund the development of routes. Pay a sum and have access to an entire nation of up to date routes and trains.

An easy to use world editor would be implemented to make your own routes, edit others, or have a world hub. You could also participate in groups etc.

What do you all think? Good or bad?

Google Gemini AI was used in the making of this post to show an estimated view of what the game could look like.

Looking for a SIM where you can load/unload things for working productions, not just drive point A to B

Is there a SIM that exist where you can load stuff(like raw materials) and you have to deliver thems to say factories to drive a world economy, or something liek that?

Not just ala TrainSim where you only drive in 1 direction from start to finish, then end scenario
