Am I the only one who feels as if shit has been hitting the fan since Doug stepped down. Poor decision after poor decision. Walmart this is not sustainable!

I sat in the bench up front after work waiting for my friend to get off cuz he needed a ride and got off 3 hours after me. I waited outside for most of the time but it’s the middle of summer and hot so naturally I just wanted to sit inside a minute. I shouldn’t be required to walk up stairs if I wanna cool off. not even 30 minutes of sitting on the bench till my team lead came and told me I had to leave or he’d have me trespassed for loitering. I told him I asked the coach before hand (cuz I did) but he acted like it didn’t matter and when I asked the coach who gave me permission he just said “well that’s technically the rule you’ll have to talk to the manager when he’s in”. the supervisor in question had told us earlier that we had to take breaks in designated break areas only but when I’m off the clock and not on a lunch or working I don’t have to sit in the designated break areas. I am not on a break. I’m off work. reading a book. waiting on a coworker to get off buying snacks and drinks while I wait

Call me an asshole but I’ve been stuck at Walmart for 2 1/2 years and was only planning to be there for half a year. My job consisted of my managers being up my ass about the silliest things and constantly having them take their anger out on me because they got yelled at by higher ups. Now I have a job that pays more and I quit the day I started onboarding. No 2-week notice. They wouldn’t give me a 2 week notice if they fired me so I don’t feel the slightest bad about it at all. I have a family that needs me to make money and I’ve been working paycheck to paycheck for the last 2 1/2 years. I constantly licked their boot to at least get a higher position or at the least a fucking raise. I’m glad I’m gone.

Customer : "Do you guys carry my husbands bread?"

Me : "Umm, which bread would that be?"

Customer : "The kind he gets all the time. The other store didn't have it. Do you?"

Me : (realizing this is going nowhere) "Yes ma'am. We have his bread. Just got it in this morning."

My brother just passed away today and I'm absolutely devastated. I just don't know what to do or anything. Who should I contact or get ahold of? I'm sorry I'm just so lost right now.

TL here. I been so busy prepping for inventory, worked back to school, changing features, building features, swapping features....all that jazz. I come back from my days off and they say i need to convert to gametime where are those features? im like what features? I didnt know we had to switch to gametime. My coach said i am to plan for all seasons and conversions, i got zero planning communication from my coach and store manager. How the fuck am I supposed to know when we convert with out yall telling me? It doesnt happen same day every year. So now the only thing my coach is useful for is being errand boy for the SM and doing schedules. He does not communicate anythibg unless its something the SM doesnt like. Are TLs supposed to be planning for conversions now too with zero communication from coaches and SM?

Just clocked out of Walmart for the last time after working here since November 2024. This was my first job actually, so I didn’t expect leaving to feel as weird as it did. It was originally supposed to be just a stepping stone to gain experience. And it still kinda is, just didn’t expect to stay this long.

I originally wanted to move up and become a TL. Didn’t get it the first time, and that’s actually what made me start looking at other jobs. Later, again, one of my TLs left, I applied for her position, didn’t get that one either. Then eventually, I got an offer elsewhere that paid much better and decided it was time to go.

Funny enough, once I put my notice in, I had multiple people trying to convince me to stay. Even during my final shift, two managers tried one last time to get me to reconsider lol. One of my coworkers asked if I was actually leaving, and when I said yes he just went, “we’re so fucked.” I genuinely didn’t realize how much people valued having me on the team until I was leaving.

Believe it or not, I actually had a pretty good experience here overall. There was plenty of bullshit, obviously, it’s Walmart, but I met people I genuinely care about, became good at my job, and learned a lot about myself. I’m leaving without any resentment. I’m just ready to try something new.

The weirdest part is how anticlimactic leaving a job is. There’s no graduation or real finale. You just clock out one last time, say goodbye, and that’s it. Almost two years of your life just… ends with pressing a button.

I feel a little guilty leaving everyone while they’re understaffed, especially because the team we have now is actually really good. But I know I have to do what’s best for myself too.

Garden center associates get there own water dispenser. That’s completely fine. no problem. However clean water is apparently optional.

I'm 6'1, but took this at chest height. Who in their right mind thought these short cabinets that block information was a good idea?

Other than the layout being better, the remodel team made our electronics dept way worse. We didn't get enough magnet locks so now nearly everything is back to key locks and all the cabinets are this small. It's confusing customers and making it harder for OGP because they can't see the flashing tags for top row items either.

I am trying to make sure I'm understanding this correctly.

1. They're taking automotive and hardware and splitting the department's back apart.

2. They're taking the team lead / department manager from inside and forcing them back out into the shop...

3. And then they're making the department ran by just the sales for associate with no manager overhead.. ( the team lead / department manager). And no additional pay with more responsibilities

Am I understanding that correctly?

Does anybody know whats happening with this talk of going back to forced schedules for Team Leads? Is it true? Is it going to be store to store? Or enforced with an iron fist?

I have three days left of working for this company and I can't wait till Friday to turn in my vest and work phone its going to be so satisfying . not sure why I made this post but I'm highly looking forward to life after Walmart .

if anyone is ever thinking of leaving Walmart I promise you it is scary at first but it will be worth it looking back . there's so much out there .

Finally quit after a year of “fun times” and onto bigger and better pastures, combined with the questionable management, careless coworkers, and favoritism this truly has been an “experience”

Some tips to anyone looking to join the Walmart goons as an overnight stocker I would recommend keeping your own pace, don’t go to slow and don’t go to fast. Unfortunately for me I started off strong immediately and suffered the consequences of my actions. Another tip I’d recommend asking to be put on for 4-11’s as working 5-9’s like that absolutely ruined my knees from the constant kneeling. Having that extra day off definitely gave my already bad leg a rest.

Also can Walmart management decide to trespass you out of pure pettyness less questions the better?🥲

Ours just finished. It was shit.

So, I’m a new team lead and I need some advice. I obviously prior to being a team lead never had to order stuff. I’m over the areas paper, pets, chem, infants. How should I go about ordering? Like only to cover my endcaps and actionalley? So, basically I need advice on how I should process and handle ordering things. I don’t know if it’s only to cover my feature based items. On top of that, how often should I be ordering products?

I went on leave because parent had a heart attack. i took the twelve weeks went it was done tried to contact my coach but he was on vacay. finally got a hold of PL and got scheduled a week later. the day before she called me and tild me because i didnt come back before the 12 weeks my position was filled. got switched to door host

Like the title says, I am transferring stores. Going from the service desk and moving to the pharmacy in another town. My start date is the beginning of the pay period next week. I was wondering, if I already have approved PTO requests off at the store I’m at will those travel with me to my new store or do I have to resubmit. Yes, these are questions I can ask my new pharmacy manager, TL, and people lead; however would just prefer to get a better idea on here before I do so.

My ap coach is telling us to scan out items at continamited in the claims app, but I was always told to use the dispose screen. Something dosent sit right with me about that. They said its so our shrink isn't as bad, but that just seems like a way of doctoring a report. Im currently without a store manager so I cant go above him. Ive also caught my ap coach in several lies ive been able to prove.

What does the job consist of? What are you doing all shift? Is it very hard or physically demanding
