Open Door on gross misconduct (theft)

So I got terminated for stealing the ranch packets from deli for my meal. I was not aware they cost anything. I thought they were freebies.

Is it worth open dooring it with a store manager?

Freedom (Overnight stocking associate)

Finally quit after a year of “fun times” and onto bigger and better pastures, combined with the questionable management, careless coworkers, and favoritism this truly has been an “experience”

Some tips to anyone looking to join the Walmart goons as an overnight stocker I would recommend keeping your own pace, don’t go to slow and don’t go to fast. Unfortunately for me I started off strong immediately and suffered the consequences of my actions. Another tip I’d recommend asking to be put on for 4-11’s as working 5-9’s like that absolutely ruined my knees from the constant kneeling. Having that extra day off definitely gave my already bad leg a rest.

Also can Walmart management decide to trespass you out of pure pettyness less questions the better?🥲

If anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask otherwise this post has probably been overdone 🫠

curious about a coaching i received

I and another employee got coached for the time between our pick walks being too long when we take our 15’s. We got told that the 30 minutes in between our walks were too long, and we specifically got in trouble for two days because we were assigned picks and did not see them because we were not told, and had gone on break. We got the assigned picks done after break and they did not go late. After a pick walk we have to walk back across the store to the ODP room, stage the totes (we have to stage all of our totes i know other stores are different), get new totes (and bags/stickers/ etc. as needed), take our carts to the back bathrooms, and then head to break. We then also have to walk to the back bathrooms after break to get our carts and enter a new walk. The time between our walks are simply based off of our last seen, which does not include any of the tasks before and after break.

We were slammed the day that the coaching was written up, so the walk to the room and staging could have easily taken longer than usual. Unfortunately I do not remember specifics of the day because they waited 2 weeks to coach us. I apologize for the lengthy post but i feel the need to explain all the steps that are not shown in the stats. would you fight this coaching? we only got coached for it because they noticed that we did not do the assigned picks when they were given, though they did not tell us they were assigning anything and knew that it was time that we usually take breaks. We have started keeping a log with our last seen time, when our break started (written on the board), and the time we head back to our carts to use as “proof” because this is the only thing we know to use. I have also asked others in the department and they say they usually have a 25-30 minute time between their walks at break time.

Coach is saying I need 4.5 hours of PPTO to cover a 2-11 shift (1 hour break brings it to 8 hours) is that true?

TL here. I been so busy prepping for inventory, worked back to school, changing features, building features, swapping features....all that jazz. I come back from my days off and they say i need to convert to gametime where are those features? im like what features? I didnt know we had to switch to gametime. My coach said i am to plan for all seasons and conversions, i got zero planning communication from my coach and store manager. How the fuck am I supposed to know when we convert with out yall telling me? It doesnt happen same day every year. So now the only thing my coach is useful for is being errand boy for the SM and doing schedules. He does not communicate anythibg unless its something the SM doesnt like. Are TLs supposed to be planning for conversions now too with zero communication from coaches and SM?

Quitting while on short term disability.

I don’t think I can go back to Walmart with it being so strenuous on my body after surgery. I don’t want to breach the contract or do anything illegal where they find out and I have to pay them back. I also want to leave on a good note. Does anyone have factual information?

Bereavement

I have a funeral/wake to attend to this Thursday/friday. Do you think they’d give me the bereavement time off?
My husband will be one of the ones carrying the casket and I can’t go to work bc I have kids as well.
I’m willing to take the L and call off

If given the opportunity to fix one thing you hate about your store, what would it be?

Structural properties. The way things are ran. Anything.

Who thought these cabinets were a good idea?

I'm 6'1, but took this at chest height. Who in their right mind thought these short cabinets that block information was a good idea?

Other than the layout being better, the remodel team made our electronics dept way worse. We didn't get enough magnet locks so now nearly everything is back to key locks and all the cabinets are this small. It's confusing customers and making it harder for OGP because they can't see the flashing tags for top row items either.

Dispensing

Confided in my teamlead that I cant keep dispensing everyday as its kill my mental and physical health and she literally just compared to another worker who has stated he literally cant pick and then told me everyone has to do it even tho we have the same 8 workers who dispense like every week, also pretty sure them having me dispense everyday is part of them trying to rule over the fact that im currently going to a doctor for stomach issues, they hadn't said anything about my issues after I had to go to ethics and then suddenly started making me dispense in the morning which is usually when my stomach hurts the worst, do i go to ethics again?

Company Life Insurance?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Just will restate here so you don’t have to jump to the other subreddit, noticed under benefits that there’s a company life insurance policy. Anyone know how I can find out information on this policy like who the beneficiary is? I know Walmart got sued back in the early 2000 for taking out “dead peasant” insurance on workers without informing them and I’m wondering if this is a similar situation.

Automotive changes

I am trying to make sure I'm understanding this correctly.

  1. They're taking automotive and hardware and splitting the department's back apart.

  2. They're taking the team lead / department manager from inside and forcing them back out into the shop...

  3. And then they're making the department ran by just the sales for associate with no manager overhead.. ( the team lead / department manager). And no additional pay with more responsibilities

Am I understanding that correctly?

Just quit

Call me an asshole but I’ve been stuck at Walmart for 2 1/2 years and was only planning to be there for half a year. My job consisted of my managers being up my ass about the silliest things and constantly having them take their anger out on me because they got yelled at by higher ups. Now I have a job that pays more and I quit the day I started onboarding. No 2-week notice. They wouldn’t give me a 2 week notice if they fired me so I don’t feel the slightest bad about it at all. I have a family that needs me to make money and I’ve been working paycheck to paycheck for the last 2 1/2 years. I constantly licked their boot to at least get a higher position or at the least a fucking raise. I’m glad I’m gone.

My brother just passed away today and I'm absolutely devastated. I just don't know what to do or anything. Who should I contact or get ahold of? I'm sorry I'm just so lost right now.

Garden center associates get there own water dispenser. That’s completely fine. no problem. However clean water is apparently optional.
