Cleaning/detailing my car is like my mental break, although it’s physical intensive! Got my 2018 RX on April,2018 and I had been put 98k miles on it. This is my 3rd Lexus, but 1st brand new Lexus. I had been taken care of it carefully and this is how it looks after 8 years usage with almost 100k miles.

Vehicle Photo The first Lexus in a long time I would get because I like it and not because of reliability or resale.

I’m genuinely impressed by the NX refresh. The interior looks premium and compared to the GLC, Q5 and X3, I think it’s an overall better executed package. The X3 with the B58 is still the emotional choice but I just can’t get behind the looks. The GV 70 as we all know has the most premium feeling interior of the class but the design has gotten a bit tired.

Hopefully this energy can be directed to the TX which I feel is Lexus’ laziest effort.

Question GS350 replacement KYB shocks stiffness?

Hello all, recently replaced all 4 of the shocks in my 2013 GS 350 F sport RWD with the AVS compatible KYBs as 3 of them were leaking severely (at 71,000 miles). In addition to the shocks themselves, I also replaced all 4 of the shock mounts with the OEM Lexus part as well as the bump stop and any other rubber components. However, afterwards I never really regained the ride quality that I used to have with the car both in normal and spirited driving.

Before I replaced the shocks, the car felt pretty wobbly and the body roll was severe even in sport+. Now after replacement, it feels a little bit better but still not at all like I remember the car driving. It somehow feels more floaty than before but also doesn't absorb bumps as well. Additionally, although sport+ is a little stiffer, it is nowhere near as stiff as it used to be months ago with the OEM shocks. It feels like Normal mode is Eco and Sport+ is normal mode. I even put the car into VGRS Test Mode and used techstream to manually test each AVS motor and rocking the car side to side I definitely felt that all 4 motors were making the car stiffer when adjusting it from 1 to 17, but it still is just not as stiff as it used to be.

I'm wondering, is this really just how these aftermarket KYBs feel like? I expected them to be basically identical to the shocks I took out of the car but the floatiness is really disappointing. The only option I could think of is something to do with the orientation of the AVS motor and oil control valve, as the instructions on how to orient that properly are very unclear, but I am really unsure. Would be great if anybody that has replaced their GS shocks with these KYBs could chime in with their experience, thank you.

Question Cabin air filter early replacement?

2026 RZ350, under 5k miles. I feel like my cabin air filter needs replacement already because there is this smell within the car. Anyone else with an RZ or newer Lexus experience this? Car is only 6 months old, I feel like the filter should last more than 6 months usually no?

Discussion The LC 500

• Upvotes

I work in a small shop in San Antonio, Texas. We mostly work on Volkswagen Group, BMW, & Mercedes; however, we do get some other cars from this used car dealership were partenered with. Today we received a 2024 Lexus LC 500 in Copper Crest. I've always thought this car was stunning, but after seeing it up close, sitting in it, and test driving it, I can say this might be the most beautiful and desirable car to come out of the modern era. everything about this veicle is so incredible. I am so surprised these aren't talked about more. I feel like people sweep this masterpiece under the rug. I hope someday to own one, but I fear that before I will be able to afford one, the market will begin to value this car for what it's worth. Anyways, thanks for reading. I would love to hear y'all's thoughts on why people don't really talk about this car much. Obviously, I'm posting this on the Lexus subreddit, so I imagine most people here will understand the incredible draw to this car, but whatever.

Question Advice Buying a New Lexus

I’m in the market to buy my first Lexus, a NX350h AWD with Premium trim. It seems the local dealer is holding firm to msrp. It seems this is a popular model with at the moment little wiggle room. What approach has worked best for you?
Has buying from Costco worked?
Should I wait until the new 2027s are out?
Should I consider buying a car out of town?
Thanks.

Question Lexus ES 330 Car Mats

Hello,

Recently purchased a 2005 Lexus ES 330. It came with the beige oem carpet mats and the seller tossed on two random rubber mats in the front, so i am looking to replace them. I tried looking for photos and parts #'s and came up with nothing. Did this model come out with OEM all weather mats?

Question Found a hairline crack on my 2024 RX350h Canadian ultra luxury trim moonroof glass covered with glue — 2 months after CPO purchase. Advice?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Bought a 2024 RX 350h Ultra Luxury as Certified Pre-Owned from a Lexus dealership about 2 months ago. Yesterday I noticed a small mark on the outside of the moonroof glass — assumed it was bird droppings or tree sap after rain, so I wiped it with my finger. Turned out to be adhesive/glue applied from the outside, directly over a hairline crack that’s visible from inside the car.

The vehicle passed the dealer’s full CPO inspection checklist (moonroof item specifically marked as ā€œmeets standardsā€), so either it was missed, or the crack + glue predate the inspection.

I’ve emailed the dealership with photos/video and I’m waiting on a response.

A few questions for anyone who’s dealt with something similar:

**1.** Has anyone had a CPO dealer actually cover something like this as goodwill, or do they typically push back and say it’s the buyer’s responsibility to catch it at delivery?
**2.** Any idea on realistic repair/replacement cost for the panoramic moonroof glass on this generation RX?
**3.** Is escalating to Lexus Canada / OMVIC (Ontario) worth doing in parallel, or should I give the dealer more time first?

Appreciate any input from people who’ve been through this.

Question Clutch pedal in an auto ā€˜01 IS300?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys! Maybe this a dumb question with an easy explanation that I just don’t know, I’m no expert that’s for sure. I was just wondering why this ā€˜01 automatic is300 had a clutch? Was it swapped from manual to auto? Seems unlikely given how rare manual is300s are right? Thanks in advance!
