[OC] I saved my Silvia from any more decay after three years in a leaky shed

Went home to New Zealand and finally dragged my Silvia S14 out after it had been sitting untouched for nearly 3 years
The original plan was pretty simple: get it out of storage, see if it still ran, give it a quick refresh and get it back on the road.
As usual, that escalated
Ended up spending a good chunk of my trip sanding, fixing things, painting it and generally questioning why I thought this was going to be a quick job.
Pretty stoked with how it came out though — especially seeing it driving again after being abandoned for so long.
I filmed the whole process if anyone’s into oldschool JDM stuff / S-chassis builds. Would genuinely appreciate any feedback on the video too

It’s insane how replacing taillights only cost a few bucks, but replacing headlights nowadays cost 1000s of bucks.

I just replaced one of my taillights for a few bucks a few days ago on my 2022 Altima. When my left daytime running light was out I was quoted 3k+ at Nissan. I laughed and told them to give me my keys and I drove out the dealership. I went on carparts.com and ordered the light assembly for like 200 something bucks and had my personal mechanic install it for around the same. But it’s crazy that these newer cars require you having to replace the entire head light assembly just to change one bulb. But yea I saved like 2500 bucks because the dealership snatched my wig off with that 3k quote lol.

Used 19 Sentra for $7.5K

It ran 60K miles. I took a PPI and found no major issues. I might need to replace brake pads, rotors, and CVT fluids. Do you think it's negotiable? Or just accept the initial offer because it's a good deal?

Nissan fast-tracks hybrid Rogue twice to battle Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V — but supplies will be tight

Nissan has pulled forward the launch of its make-or-break Rogue Hybrid crossover for a second time, in a high-stakes scramble to claw share from the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

Having watched sales of its No. 1 nameplate bleed without a competitive hybrid, Nissan is betting its homegrown e-Power system will deliver more than just improved fuel economy when it arrives in late fall.

“People buy hybrids primarily because they’re efficient,” Tiago Castro, Nissan’s U.S. sales chief, told Automotive News. “Our vehicle will be efficient, but we’re going to offer more.”

The accelerated arrival, previously fast-tracked to January from mid-2027, necessitates a gradual ramp-up of shipments to dealerships. The Rogue Hybrid now will arrive in November in a single upper-grade trim engineered for volume and margin.

The Japanese automaker expects the hybrid to quickly become the dominant version of the Rogue and reverse years of sales declines. By mid-2027, Castro projects that hybrid variants will account for about 30 percent of Rogue sales, with roughly 60 percent of those buyers new to the brand.

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid, which Nissan initially will import from Japan, won’t transform the nameplate overnight. Each of the brand’s 1,050 U.S. dealerships will receive one or two in November. Supply is expected to increase to about 6,000 units by March as the hybrid lineup expands with two additional trims.

The staggered rollout underscores the urgency of playing catch-up in the cutthroat compact-crossover segment.
U.S. Rogue sales slid for a second consecutive year in 2025, dropping 11 percent to 217,896. Its share of the segment sank to 7.6 percent - the lowest since 2009.

Nissan’s third-generation e-Power system is designed to meet American drivers’ demands for fuel economy and performance.
The all-electric propulsion system drives the wheels using a pair of battery-powered motors. A gasoline engine mainly acts as a generator to recharge the battery but can power the motors directly for added performance. The result eliminates EV range anxiety and the mechanical compromises of conventional hybrids.

Brandon White, a Nissan marketing director, described the hybrid system as “smoother, quicker, quieter.”

Qashqai J12 1.3 DIG-T no-start — IPDM injector power question

Thumbnail

Hi folks Qashqai J12 1.3 DIG-T no-start — IPDM injector power question

Car cranks, sync OK (crank + both cams reading), rail pressure 214 bar, ECM calculates fuel demand but Injection Amount = 0 g. Pin-to-pin at injectors = 0V during crank (ground side OK).

IPDM p/n 284B7-6RA0B (HS). All external blade fuses good.

ACTUATOR1 (15A) has no visible user fuse in the slot — appears internal/built-in. Is this the injector +12V feed?

Can anyone confirm:

Is ACTUATOR1 the injector power circuit on this IPDM?

Is the 15A protection internal (soldered fusible link) or is the fuse simply missing from my unit?

Anyone have the J12 IPDM pinout or ACTUATOR relay mapping?

Front impact car. Radar/camera/sonar faulted. Suspect IPDM internal relay or fuse blown on injector circuit. Need diagram before I order replacement.

Thanks.

Repair Help Nissan Altima 2015 door rattle

Hi! A few months ago my passenger side rear door started to make a rattling/squeeking sound. It’s not constant. It comes and goes. I can sometimes stop the noise by opening and closing the door from the inside. But it always comes back. I replaced the door handle w a brand new OEM part but the noise is still there! Anyone know about this issue specifically? At this point I don’t know how to fix it other than replacing the entire door. I’ve taken off the door panel and inspected inside but couldn’t find anything loose
