Yeah, waiting for Si really burned me out. I dunno who thought it was a good idea to show her as an “upcoming character” but then refuse to release her for the next 6 months.
Thing is, even if that unit releases if it doesn't feel unique enough or have something to make combat fun, I doubt it is going to do much, maybe gets back to 10m on this chart but that's it.
Devs need to rework entire combat system and make their gacha units unique, they all feel the same that's one of the reasons why the combat is rock bottom on Endfield, it is just flash over substance.
Nope May scores lowest with less than 5 million when there was no new character for a whole month, but this time there was a new character and it does only slightly better so you can see the playerbase really has dropped ever since then.
The amount of parts you need to make factory buildings is very small, even very basic setups can easily produce what you need there. Like you can cludge together something or copy an older blueprint and youll have plenty soon enough.
I dont even bother with factory. Devs just straight up give you gear for new characters instead of building factory to craft the gear. Musta figured out noone except reddit likes factory
It's almost completely unobtrusive already. You go copy Kyo's base and cable manage a few pipes for new resources if any, and you're set up for the patch.
Eh not really i think last month arcane still do fine, it just that liino is completely new character introduce in the patch and not really a must have or anything, people also more hype for si
Despite all the fixes that this game has made (based on what other people have mentioned), I feel like a glaring issue for Endfield is the combat.
It’s just so clunky compared to top games such as Genshin/ZZZ/(wuwa, though I don’t play it, I’ve seen some combat showcases). Something about the attack animations seem really rigid(?) which is why I eventually stopped playing after Fangyi’s release. Idk if that’s changed, but that was my personal gripe with the game and I really gave it a good chance by playing it for a bit.
The combat is the main reason I ended up dropping Endfield. I can only watch Endmin's chain skill go sideways or backward toward something off-screen so many times before I give up.
They should have stuck with tactical RPG like combat and improved it as it seemed promising and stood out in comparison to the rest of the industry. The original combat was very situational, tactical and crowd control focused with character skills being directly targetable and more characters having CC capabilities. Each class had a more defined role. Dungeons had very different kind of pacing that was more Baldurs Gate 3 than ZZZ.
By going all in on action combat it just gets compared to big shots and looking average at best.
The next part is story. The storytelling drove away the OG AK fandom which stuck through AK content droughts and issues. What fueled year one of AK was all the discussions fandom had about the story and character decisions and the morality of those decisions and this doesn't have that. The story and worldbuilding feel so themepark-y and toothless here. There's no real reason to keep being excited for next patch when most things get resolved in same patch and there's nothing to discuss or debate.
I feel like if to save the game they need to go all in to fixing story, as well as to completely overhaul the combat.
Yes, the reason we have dodgeslop now is because beta testers whined.
However, most of beta testers were specifically not AK players as HG gave priority to Genshin and big games CCs and players in selection proccess.
And after their whining, instead of actually iterating and improving a unique and more tactical system, they abandoned it for something so much more generic and braindead.
YES! AE combat just FEELS like it shouldn't have been a real time action dodge-counter slop IMO.
All battle system screams it should have been tactical where you manage units' positions, SP usage, status effect stacks infliction/absorption and all that. It's just not as effective when it's fast paced action gameplay. Yes, you can make up interesting combos, but the way things are you just learn the best possible chain and that's it. All that complex and diverse characters' kits and teambuilding freedom just goes to waste.
Perfect parry gameplay slaves just went to beta and ruined it for everybody and now refusing to play duh.
They should have stick to their initial idea isntead of overhualing whole class and battle system. Now nothing works right in that deoartment.
Honestly, it's fine if the game had dodge but, for example relegated it to a specialist class. So a defender would tank damage while a specialist would dodge or parry.
You want to switch to AOE unit in your team or CC unit? Better be sure you won't need to dodge when you do. You want to defend against enemy attack? Swap into unit that can parry or dodge or tank.
Just another way that would make classes more different from each other.
Yep, you nailed it. Endfield combat is really lackluster, it reminds me of a watered down Dragon's Age 2 combat, which was super old, this one gets old fast too.
Units don't feel unique at all, or have some sort of spice added into their kits that is gameplay noticeable, even the latest unit with the idol you can't even pilot her because she just sings without doing anything else, it is just so boring.
The story is another MC created the air everyone breathes which lowers the experience to rock bottom, at least for me.
They need an entire combat rework to make it more engaging and fun, Endfield is just not original enough for such a big market when you can play a lot better gacha's.
Frankly the combat is like play an old style of MMO like WoW or something like Dragon Age Origin, stand in place and press or hold button to do shit, sometimes move when shit gets thrown your direction, it's just way too static by modern standards IMO. The combat also lack impact, half of the time if feels like you hit something and it doesn't even react to said action.

Is this the lowest Endfield ever did? Oof...
