I've been customizing Brooklyn Tweed's Ballantine gloves for my husband, adding stitches customizing things to fit him perfectly. This has to be my sixth one, at least. (This process has been about 2 years in the making, as I'd never made gloves of any sort or edited a pattern before.)

He came down with COVID and is miserable, so I stayed up late to finish them and was so excited to present it for him to try on. I noticed something felt a little odd...

Sure enough, I made a right handed companion to the right handed glove I already made him that he loves. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Sharing here because I cannot be the only person that has made this mistake, and I could use some support lol.

I counted down the days till this pattern released, and finished it within 1.5 weeks. Safe to say it does not disappoint

I tried following a flat sock pattern https://crazyhands.net/two-needles-slipper-socks-knitting-pattern/ because I don’t have circulars or understand knitting in the round yet. I knitted it in 100% wool because I had it left over and knew from the start it would not be successful enough to actually wear. It’s too small. I didn’t understand how to do a proper gauge square before I started. I learned a lot about following patterns and seaming at the end. The two things I’ve come away confused on is how to do a yarn over increase if you need to immediately go into purl position (I ended up doing kfb increases instead because I couldn’t understand). And why my selvedge stitch never looks like neat v’s no matter what technique I try. I hope you enjoy my 1300’s sock!

I'm still pretty new to knitting and I wanted some advice on my scarf :)

I don't think I'm twisting anything and the tension looks good...?

My edges are folding in but thinking blocking will help with that in the end.

I'm self taught, YouTube mainly. I have a friend that gives me advice thru texting but idk if she's just hyping me up or not lol. She's been knitting for a few years now.

Hello everyone!

Here is the finished Marielle top by Marias Verden. I'm so happy with the result! The pattern was well written, but it was quite a challenge for me as a beginner knitter.

As you can see in photo 3, I had to add a few stitches on the armpits as the top turned out to be a bit too wide. That's probably my fault, as I didn't do the gauge swatch😅.

I knit it in the size 3 and used Knitting For Olive Cotton Merino yarn in Rhubarb Rose. I will be deffinitely wearing this all the time for the last weeks of summer hehe🌸

The darker more mysterious sister to my „Runner Rabbit Vest“.

Story is also pretty much the same for both… I am trying to make some good stuff out of my stash, to make some room.

The dark blue yarn was a gift so I have no info on it.
The light blue (snails color) is Elisa Merino 80 (100% wool).
The baby blue used in the cuffs was from an old sweater I unraveled, I think it’s cotton.

The cuffs are crochet, but anything else is knitted.

I found the snail motive online and tweaked it so that it fit my measurements. Can drop it in the comments, if anyone is interested.

Yarn dyed on a yarn-dyeing evening at my lovely local yarn studio.

Eyelet lace, Dutch heel, cuff down. 2.5mm needles magic loop.

I seem to be unable to follow a pattern without making changes. Lol Sized needles down for a less see through fabric, went up to a large to account for it, added a v neck and ditched the ribbing at the neck, added an extra repeat, and of course, worked in a completely different fiber than suggested. Oh, also changed the raglan a bit to account for the v neck.

I'm a very monogamous knitter. If I start a project I can't bring myself to start a new wip until the first one is finished. However, this inevitably makes every project feel like a slog by the time I reach sleeve island. Which is a bummer! I try to remind myself to enjoy the process of knitting instead of just wanting the finished product. But boredom inevitably sets it. Can you please unlock the thought process behind having multiple wips!!?!! The idea of having options of what to work on seems great. But I can't help but think that I'll never have any FO/get overwhelmed with so many things to complete.

I feel like my knitting production is slow because of said monogamy and feelings of slog. But I can't get past thinking nothing will ever get finished with multiple things going.

All y’all with your fancy sweaters and I’m still over here doing very simple scarves 😂 I mostly crochet, but I dabble in knitting, and I only just learned that double stockinette is a thing so I had to try it out! Also this only looks kinda wonky because it was on an uneven surface, everything is straight and smooth when laid flat!

I’m using Arcane Fibre Works “All Hallows Eve” 100% merino wool in worsted/aran. The artificial lighting doesn’t do the colors justice, they’re so pretty in person!

Just did a swatch of this Plymouth Aireado to test gauge for the Step by Step Sweater. I really love working with it. I thought it would be pretty fragile and unravel easily, but it glides along my needles seamlessly and knitted wonderfully, with no snags.

I think the gauge on this seems good. Just wondering if it looks okay to way more experienced knitters?

I never really post here but I’m quite proud of these : Heather’s Charm Mitts by Woolen Tales by Alina Bogdanova. Made with Ernrum E+2 from The Woolly Thistle. It’s this super yummy Icelandic wool + Mulberry silk.

The colors were chosen by the person these are being gifted to and I believe the blue is limited edition that was included in my Spring Taster box this year.

Going to my best friends’ sibling’s wedding and my buddy has a 9 month old who will be the ring bearer. I half jokingly mentioned knitting a baby tuxedo to my friend, looked to see if there was an easy/free pattern, and here we are.. I still need to wash/block it, but look how freakin cute!

This is my first finished garment (is a sock a garment? If it is, then it’s my second.) I think next time I’ll make a small, it grew a lot after blocking but I’m happy with it

I just finish skein 19 out of 38 !! First half is done ! and 2 third of the main body too

I'm self-drafting a fitted drop shoulder cardigan based off of my favorite sweater. I wanted shoulder shaping to create a slope, but I could only find how to do this with bottom up. This is Drops Belle (controversial side note, I vastly prefer Belle over SD Line; I don't know how people can claim the two yarns are interchangeable; they're so different!)

The problems:

1) For yarn chicken purposes, it needed to be top down.

2) I could have done a provisional cast on and worked the shoulder bottom up, then continued the body top down. I probably will do this in the future with other yarns. For this project, I don't like provisional COs with stockinette in plant - based yarns because on my needles, they never look right (I'm guessing because my gauge relaxes as I get more used to the yarn).

My unvented solution:

Photo 1: I knit the back first and put the shoulder shaping in there with knit and purl COs.

Photo 2: I picked up and knit the front panels and then put in GSR for the shoulder shaping. I picked up the entire row first using a needle 2 sizes smaller, switched to the normal needle (it was a bit tight but I made it work) and then added GSRs per usual, following the same shape as the back.

Photo 3a&4: the final result - I think it looks pretty darn tidy and sturdy!

Wanted to share because my online research didn't reveal another way to do shoulder shaping top down and thought other people might like it. Has anyone else tried something like this, or has another method they've unvented? Is there some source out there that I missed?

I’m fairly recent to knitting. Completely self taught through YouTube, I’ve done a t-shirt (which didn’t turn out great), and now I’m working on the Fabian Sweater from Isager.

I think I still need to improve my M1R and M1L (especially regarding tension), but I would love to get your opinion on the progress so far.

When doing a new hat design it will usually take 2-5 tries before I am happy.

My first pride hat used a simple flower design but the yellow didn't stand out against the while and the Pride theme didn't jump out at me.

He second hat went better. The solid lines of color easily identified the Pride theme, but the 3*1 ribbing (chosen to highlight the colors) ended up too tight and inelastic .

I switched to a light blue and a 2*2 ribbing for my third attempt. This worked out perfectly. It was a touch big, but a quick trip in the dryer after a wash, shaped it perfectly.
