Missing Peace Dominion Energy lets ANYONE call and turn off your power
I am moving into a new apartment tomorrow. I got all of my utilities set up last week with no issues. But suddenly late Saturday I get an email from the power company (Dominion Energy) stating that my request to shut off power at my new place has been submitted. At first I thought I had goofed up and hit stop service instead of start, so I call them this morning to get it fixed. They tell me on the phone that some other person claims to be moving into or from that unit the day after I move in and they requested they change. I correct them that I'm moving in and need the power on. They say no problem and fix it. 5hrs later it gets switched back to a stop service request! I call again and they tell me the same thing happened. They refuse to tell me any details about who is doing this and tell me to take it up with my leasing office. My leasing office is confised, they don't have anyone moving that week besides me. They suggest I send Dominion a copy of my lease to prove it is me that wants power on. I call Dominion and the refuse to let me send them my lease! They tell me that they are required to honor all requests to turn power on and off! I ask then if I could just call in and turn off my neighbors power, and they say YES! Repeat; ANYONE can call and turn of ANY ADDRESS' POWER!!!!! That's insane! I called my leasing and they think it is insane! Still working on a solution. My service request hasn't been flipped again yet, but I'm worried it might be. Not sure what will come of this.

Missing Peace Mom took my USB with all my Films on it so she could transfer pictures, forgot about it and somehow bricked it
So me and my mom have a rather cold relationship
A few days ago she seemingly walked passed my USB mass port connector and unplugged one randomly to use it to transfer fotos from her phone to their home PC
The USB that she picked had about 150~ish gigs of pirated films that I really loved and the recordings from a few good friends that I haven’t had time to meet in a few years now
Cue three days later when she talks to me right after I get home from work, she hands my tired ass the usb she randomly unplugged back, which for whatever reason was snapped off from its grip
She explains that she needed a second USB from me because this one "got to hot"
She somehow fully bricked the fucking USB which now needs to be formatted again, which would delete all the data on it

Missing Peace Don't ask people questions about their body if you don't want to hear the answer.
I've had to have more than a few surgeries in my life, some of which involve parts of my body I don't usually discuss at work. I've gotten a bit irritated at people who press for more information when I respond "you'd probably rather not know" so the other day I decided it anyone asks "what are you having done" they get this answer:
"I have some scar tissue inside of my urethera that makes it difficult to pee and causes pain, so they're feeding a tube into my penis, then inflating a balloon covered in drugs to break the scar tissue up and hopefully stop it from returning. Then I'll have to wear a catheter home for a few days afterwards."
If they're still interested after that maybe I can describe how fun it is to piss straight blood for several days after the catheter comes out and how I can't have sex with my wife for awhile afterwards and even then we'll have to use condoms for a few weeks after that to avoid any of the drugs being passed into her.
Basically, maybe if it's not someone you're very close to, maybe don't ask about their body. If they don't volunteer the information, it might just be something they don't want to discuss.

Missing Peace No spoilers, this was yesterday. At least my streak was only 50 days…
I debated between the two on the sixth chance and chose poorly…

Missing Peace Customers make requests 2 minutes before closing
Something I’ve always hated is when customers come through the door or order in the last 10 minutes before closing, it makes us stop our closing procedures and we’re just trying to go home.
Tonight 2 minutes before closing, a customer comes up with a request (I work at the ice cream station at a market) for me to scrape out the ice cream that isn’t in the raspberry ice cream case. I told her we’re out and even after attempting to persuade her she still wanted to see it even though she could clearly see inside the container (and yes, I told her there was none in the building. And yes, I’d stand up for myself but I didn’t feel like getting in trouble). I took a spoon and scraped out what there was which wasn’t even enough to fill the spoon, and it was THEN she said “oh now I understand” and she ordered a different flavor. Some people lack common sense and this actually happens often.

Missing Peace Coworker waits until we're alone in the break room to blast Bible verses at me.
It's only when we're alone here. If there's a 3rd person, nothing. If I walk in after he does, he waits until I sit down, then turns the speaker up, and vice versa. If it's just him and another person when I walk in, it's completely silent. He only does it when it's me.
I always have an earbud in, so I know it's not to drown out whatever I'm listening to.

Missing Peace I hate that one of my ankles swells but the other does not
No medical advice, please. This has happened for twenty years, I have done all the tests my doctor recommended, etc. It's just my life. Seriously lol, none of it.
For the record, after all tests were concluded and they found nothing when I was 16, the doctor told me it is likely a case of weak valves in the veins of that leg or something. Basically nothing to do but shove a compression sock on and try to get exercise.
Anyways, one of my ankles swells and the other does not. Sometimes the entire leg swells. This was worse in high school when I did marching band. Luckily it hasn't happened in a while.
But what pisses me off is not the mystery medical shit lol. I know this is shallow but I just want both ankles the same size. If they both are cankles that's fine by me! Just MATCH EACH OTHER YOU WANKERS
Even when I wear compression socks, when I take them off there is residual swelling that they cannot fix, and my ankles are still not symmetrical.
FATHER HEAR MY PLEAS. FOR SYMMETRICAL ANKLES, PLEASE.

Missing Peace One-star review response from company more than a decade later
12 years ago, I had a horrible experience with a moving company that involved them not having a truck for me despite my having reserved one many weeks in advance. I left a one-star review, citing a horrible customer experience and explaining that I would be taking my business to a more reliable company.
Last week, the owner replied that they were taking the matter seriously.
Edit: autocorrect error, grammar corrections

Missing Peace I paid for a window seat
I paid for a window seat since I sometimes get nauseous when the plane is banking. Seems I picked the one location there was no window. The diagram for booking clearly showed a window here.
Edit: Thanks to all who recommended Aerolopa! Here it clearly shows there is no window in the row I was in. Useful tip for future travels.

Missing Peace Family member put away puzzle my mom and I were close to finishing
Didn't ask or even let us know she was going to put it away. It was on a puzzle board, so it's not like it was taking up table space. And she had been working on it with us. I think she wanted to start a new puzzle, which I guess is valid. I probably shouldn't be, but I *am* a bit irked.
(Btw, flair is intended as a pun. Might have missed the mark, though)

Missing Peace No vinaigrette and no creme caramel
How is one supposed to eat salad without vinaigrette? It’s on the plan, not on the plate…
"Creme caramel" is yet another non-savory yoghurt.
I don’t expect a michelin star dinner from a hospital but it’s not even normal hospital food atp

Missing Peace The toilet in our hotel room is partially open
The top of the toilet is open, like in a public bathroom, and there is no other door to separate the bath area from the rest, so you can hear (and smell) everything in the whole hotel room.
