New Studio Charging AAA Prices is this the new normal? Blood of Dawnwalker's price is crazy

First the game looks great and looks like a lot of work went into it. The reviews coming in are giving it decent ratings which is also good. But come on! Charging AAA prices for a studios first game is absolutely insane! Everything is getting more expensive and this is used as a convenient excuse to charge more for video games.

One of the key things I believe they're overlooking is sure you got amazing graphics and such, but if people can't afford the RAM or GPU to be able to see all of this then what's the point of charging that kind of price?

The base game is $94cdn the same price as Resident Evil Requiem any the difference in devs is night and day. Crimson Desert is $30 LESS and the amount of content in CD is staggering for the price.

Is it just me or are they trying to price us out of gaming? I can't see this game moving a lot of copies just because of the price point alone.

What are your guys thoughts on these recent price changes to new titles? Or am I just the Abe Simpson meme of the old man yelling at the clouds?

Demo released for Sushiamo: A sushi roguelike inspired by Balatro but with infinite retriggers

Hi everyone, I created a roguelike deck-builder in the style of Balatro but about Sushi! It's called Sushiamo.

If you've played Balatro before or you are intrigued by this kind of games, I bet you will enjoy this :)

The demo so far has gotten 7,000+ players with an avg. playtime of 3 hours, and over 50 100% positive reviews 🩵 (I'm so thrilled that so many players are enjoying the demo!)

In the game, you collect ingredients, tools, and sauces to create the most broken sushi combo and reach day 25 to win the run (and unlock more things).

The favourite part for players is that every ingredient has its own rule and bonus (for instance):

  • Rice: x2 Flavour to every Topping if the sushi contains a Nori
  • Shrimp: +30 Flavour for every ingredient you have in hand
  • Eel: +50 Flavour to adjacent ingredients
Just some of the game items (👁️ 👄 👁️)

(My brother is obsessed with a full Shrimp build + a sauce that lets you draw 5 more ingredients to your hand)

You can play the DEMO right now on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4555040/Sushiamo
Wishlist the game to know when it's out! ^^ 🩵

You can play on Win, Mac, and also Steam Deck (full controller support)

PS: Curious about the infinite retrigger? Some ingredients can retrigger over and over forever*
*the odds are reduced every time it retriggers :p

Thanks to the mods for allowing me to share my game!

Happy to answer any questions or curiosity about the game or its development :)

The demo for Harvest Exit Plan is out: a first-person collectathon about clearing the orchard your grandparents left you

Your grandparents left you the orchard you spent every childhood summer resenting. The plan is simple: collect every fruit, sell the place, never pick up an apple again.

It holds for about twenty minutes. Then it fails, because you are having fun.

What you actually do: walk a garden and pick fruit, haul it to the cart when the basket fills, sell it, and spend the money on tools and upgrades that let you pick faster and carry more. Shake a tree and more fruit comes down. Six gardens, each denser than the last, and a robot per garden that keeps collecting while you are somewhere else. Nothing here has a clock, a fail state or an enemy.

The demo is the first two gardens, about twenty-five minutes, and it does not lock you out at the end. Shake the trees and the fruit comes back, so it turns into a sandbox if you want to keep going.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5131940/Harvest_Exit_Plan/

Early Access starts on 30 October. I am one person, and every number in there is measured against exactly one player: me.

The weakest part, since I would rather say it than have it found: twenty season cards ship with the game, dealt out between runs, and every single one of them is a multiplier. More fruit, faster picking, better prices. Not one of them changes how a season actually plays. I know that is the soft spot, I have not solved it, and it is the main reason this is going into Early Access instead of out the door as finished.

Happy to answer anything in the comments.
