I'm freaking out because this has never happened to me before with shipping and receiving items. I'm assuming at some point along the way it was stolen? I messaged valve with my shipping receipt and I guess I have to wait and see but holy fuck this is insane.

I called fedex customer support and I literally can't file a claim because the tracking number was created/provided by valve and I don't have access to their account number. I just have to wait to see what valve says.

The adaptor chain is almost comically bad. I kinda love the signal degradation through it. I have some music video ideas brewing in my head.

Steam deck battery health has dropped from 90% to 79% in the span of one month. Doesn't seem like that's supposed to be normal and I'm wondering if this is some sort of issue with other steam decks. I'm a little hesitant on replacing the battery because of the adhesive and considering just getting another PC handheld to replace my deck. How hard is it to get the battery out with the adhesive?

Hey I know I'm too specific with this question but what are your favorite games with "cartoon" graphics that run well on the deck? By cartoon i mean games that look "cute" with colours and look like they could be a tv show (the theme/story of the game doesn't matter it doesn't have to be cute haha). I don't like much dark-themed games like blasphemous, most souls-likes or expedition if I'm going to play on the deck. I don't know if you know what type of game i mean hahaha.

Some examples I can think rn that fits my description are cult of the lamb, brotato, absolum, borderlands, ruined king/battle chasers, sunset overdrive, darkest dungeon (even if it's dark), slime rancher or palworld.

I guess valve just doesn't care anymore. How in the world is this verified? Its literally running at sub 10 fps at points.

No compatibility for a 360 era game, there must be a way to make it run properly, a mod or a translation layer, anyone aware of a method?

Sorry if I’m late to the party on this and apologies if you have maybe seen this thread a gazillion times. I wanted a quick discussion on what people think about loaded.com these days.

I remember CDKeys years ago as being a ‘dodgy’ website where 95% of codes worked and the other 5% were not legit. I avoided loaded.com as I feared it was the same after their rebrand however I was quite surprised to learn that they are trying to move away from that image. This stood out for me from the website:

Is Loaded legit and safe to use?

Officially sourced products: We get our keys directly from authorised distributors and publishers.

I’ve even seen that Crystal Palace FC have them as a sponsor?! That for me added a bit of confidence in using them as I thought them to be a grey market seller.

Anyway, I’m off to shop for some games on this wonderful PC ecosystem. Please share if anyone has had issues with codes on loaded.com (I know CDKeys had its fair share) especially with PSN/Nintendo ones.

I didn’t really anticipate this before I got it, but I like playing on the steam deck so much that it’s changing the decisions I make about which games to actually play. I’ve developed a taste for games I would have never even tried before.

On my desktop I've always gravitated towards certain games, either competitive pvp games like Dota 2 or Rust. And really complex and in depth roguelikes like Caves of Qud and Cogmind. And that was like 95% of my gaming life. But ever since I got the Steam Deck I am gravitating towards games with fun movement that play really well with a controller. Also catching up on a lot of metroidvanias that never interested me before, working through Nine Sols now.

Platforming was always something I hated, well it turns out that they just don’t feel nearly as fun on a keyboard compared to a quality controller. Kinda figured that out through metroidvanias and now I wanna give some pure platforming games a shot too. Pretty hyped for Croak (it has the Cuphead artstyle which I just adore), definitely wanna play that when it comes out. I am also thinking about giving Celeste a shot, I know it's pretty old at this point but I’ve never played it and I heard it holds up quite well.

And overall I have to say I prefer gaming on the Steam Deck compared to using my PC, which just feels insane to say considering I was always a bit of a PC master race type of nerd (never owned any console before). And I think part of that is the convenience, and part is that I’m discovering new games I like all the time just because they play well on the Steam Deck (which pushes me to buy them and then I end up liking them lol).

Has anyone else experienced something like this? My gaming library has changed totally since I started playing on Steam Deck more.

Wasted almost two hours of my life last night messing with the Apollo settings until I found a Reddit post (sorry can’t find it now) saying it was due to the newest Nvidia update. Rolling back to the previous driver fixed it instantly.

For those curious the update stops the host display from turning off and resulted in my PC monitor’s resolution displaying on the steam deck. I have an ultrawide so on the steam deck 21:9 is basically unusable.

If for some reason you need the latest driver I was able to get the right resolution to show on the deck by selecting “duplicate” instead of “show on monitor 2 only” on windows display settings. It didn’t turn off my PC’s monitor but at least made remote play usable.

Does anyone else regret skipping the OLED when it was easy to get/cheaper?

Now that it looks like it’s a really long wait to the SD2, the LCD will have to do for a few more years.

I was completely fine with it until I got a Retroid Pocket 5 and realised how much nicer an OLED looks, but can’t justify a new device with basically the same power.

About month ago, I got myself a pre-owned (I wouldn't call it used) Steam Deck LCD 256GB for around 310€. Not even a scratch, battery condition 100%.

I wanna share that I love this device. First of all, I thought It'd be uncomfortable to play with, but god damn I was so wrong! It's super convenient to use and play.

My ride to work (around 1,5h One way) was made so fun thanks to this.

I am currently in time when I'm moving out so my Appreciation for Deck is even bigger.

For this price I got it? It was one the best things I could have bought.

I get also that the performance may not be it's strong side anymore, but all games I play with it run so smoothly and without an issue. Rn on my jouney to get all achievements in Borderlands 2:D

So yeah! Live long handheld gaming!

Hey everyone, I know this question has been asked a million times before (I've been looking at the threads), but it's usually a little more broad than what I'm looking for, so I thought I should maybe make my own post in case anyone else feels the same way that I do.

I'm looking for good 3d platformers on the Steam Deck that control like Odyssey (ideally have a mid-air dive and/or a dive cancel), especially multiple moves that you can chain together to really get some momentum going.

I've really enjoyed Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom, Orbo's Odyssey, and Pseudoregalia in terms of movement, and I've gotten about halfway through Penny's Big Breakaway but have been a bit turned off by some of the wonky camera and controls at times. A few games on my radar that I haven't picked up yet but look interesting to me are Mr. Sleepy Man, Crumble, Demon Tides and The Big Catch (which I know still doesn't have a release date). I also have Hell Pie sitting in my library but the crude humor turns me off.

Also, BIG DISCLAIMER: I know that everybody and their mother absolutely adores A Hat in Time, but my ashamed confession is: it looks so ugly to me I cannot imagine playing it. The movement and gameplay looks lovely, but the horrific Unity dynamic lighting pasted over a game with an already-barely-coherent aesthetic completely turns me off from the game. Am I being a baby? Does it get better? Are there settings I can mess with to make it not look like such a horrorshow? Or are there any hidden gems I'm missing that I should look into? Please help, I just want to bounce around and hoard collectibles. Thank you!!
