The occasional opposite is fun though, I like it when you get the occasional ‘I’m a pretty conservative red blooded American, but [Says some great shit about freedom liberty and the pursuit of happiness and is unironically one of the most pro-trans people you’ll meet]. I moved to Arizona recently and there’s actually a lot of those type of folks here that I’ve encountered.
watch a YouTuber like that. he's a Christian, calls himself a conservative and says he leans to the right. he's in full favor of civil rights, anti-slavery, does not sugarcoat the horrors of slavery, will not tolerate any nonsense about the Civil War being over states rights or northern aggression, and overall leans more left than he'd admit and is a chill Christian that actually follows the teachings of Jesus
A coworker of mine is like that. He'll be casually vibing then someone will say some weird shit and he'll instantly jump in with something like "God forgives everyone, even if they are sinning, as long as they live a life of love. And preaching hate against X or Y because they are trans is very un-christ-like even if it is a sin."
Cooler if you'd not say that your friend is a walking sin, but still cool that you accept them and will fight for their happiness and safety regardless lmfao.
Counterpoint, being a walking sin sounds badass. Like one time someone tried to convince me to “join the fight” against gay people because they stole rainbows from God. The only partly logical argument I see is that God chose your gender so changing it is saying that God was "wrong". The issue with this is:
If you're trans, you didn't change gender, you were that gender in the first place, and you're just allowing yourself to express yourself as what you feel on the inside
This argument can be applied to everything from wearing glasses to surgery correcting life altering birth defects (oh you were born without legs and are using prosthetics? You're saying God got your number of legs wrong)

Reddit is literally biggest safe haven for trans people. Pick any random post from any random sub and it's near universally guaranteed to have rule in regards to transphobia.
Lol what? There is a ridiculous amount of transphobia on this site. Go to literally any post about transgender athletes, and you will see some of the most vile comments about trans people as a whole. Not only that, but there are still people, in completely unrelated subs, who think the stupid pronoun jokes from 2015 are funny and repeat them ad nauseam.
Idk what your looking at, but it is definitely not Reddit. Now granted, Reddit isn't as bad as some other sites, but it's still not great.
You will at most see 2-3 heavily disliked comments/ straight up removed comments. Compared to other sites where the same comments would be the top ones i would say the other guy is right.
The worst comment in this thread is someone saying special snowflake, the least transphobic comments on insta, twitter or youtube are things that could get me banned for just posting them as examples. Things no one wants to read.
There is literally no place on the internet safer than reddit for trans people. It's moderated stronger than discord which has AI mod that bans everyone who types 13 in chat.

Genuinely why I don't have pride flag pfp anywhere anymore. It just started to feel less like showing that I am here as who I am and more like taping a "kick me!" sign on my back.
Obviously it's less so, but in the few instances where I mention being asexual, people think they're free thinking mentalists and go "Have you considered this??" and suggest the most basic alternative ever imaginable.
Like I mentioned a while back that my asexuality is reinforced by the fact that I go to the gym a lot, and I'm surrounded by these athletic, attractive women who I talk to all the time and I'm just not attracted to them. And someone asked "Have you considered that you might be attracted to skinny/chubby girls?"
Like bitch, do you think I've never ever seen skinny or chubby women before? Don't you think that I'd know if I was attracted to them??
