I posted on here with my ex a while ago and if anyone happens to remember this may be awkward lol, but y’all were sooo sweet. Turns out my ex was not so sweet, miss girl would apparently do a mental SWOT analysis of my appearance, compare me to other women, and subtly neg me??….My last ex did something similar why do I keep attracting this tomfoolery idk, but therapy should help me figure it out 😭

But now I’m posting to celebrate being single, so excited to redirect my love to all the good things in life :) Love you guys!

Questions / Advice Wanted I slept with a girl and I feel awful

I (20F, lesbian) recently started talking to a girl from my college. She (19F, lesbian) started a conversation with me on social media after seeing that we had some interests in common, and confessed that whenever she saw me, she wanted to come up and talk to me, that she thought I was really pretty, stylish, etc. She seemed VERY excited and invested at first, to the point where at some point I realized it was probably the first time she had ever tried anything romantic with someone.

We talked a lot and made plans for future dates, but I started getting worried about how quickly things were moving (she was already calling me pet names after 3 days of talking), and I was afraid of hurting her or disappointing her expectations. Anyway, she really insisted that we watch a movie at her place as our first date, so I agreed. We watched the movie cuddled up together and it was really nice, until the movie ended and she decided to kiss me, and suddenly things took a turn I wasn't expecting. Since she seemed to know what she was doing and was the one who initiated it, I let things happen, even though I had a feeling she was a virgin.

At some point, I decided to ask just to be sure, and she said yes, she'd never dated anyone or gotten to that level with anyone before. From then on, I told her there was absolutely no pressure for her to do anything, asked if she was okay every step of the way, and everything else. I tried to be as careful as possible to make sure it was, above all, a good experience for her, since I'm more experienced. Afterward, we talked, I asked if she was okay and told her she could talk to me if anything had bothered her, and she seemed fine. But as the afternoon went on, I got the impression that she was becoming distant. Since she said it wasn't anything and she's naturally a reserved person, I tried not to read too much into it.

I got my Uber, went home, and when I started talking to her, she suddenly sent me several messages apologizing, saying that she felt weird and that she was too confusing and complicated, that everything was very new to her, and that her mental health had never been this bad... I was understanding, and in the end she said she'd rather we just be friends for now and "see where it goes" later. I agreed.

She hasn't messaged me since then, and I can't stop thinking that I did something wrong, that I pressured her even though she was very verbal about telling me that I was great and that she didn't feel pressured, and even though she was the one who initiated everything. It's kind of consuming me. I feel horrible, and I keep thinking that she wasn't ready but felt like she HAD to do it to please me.

During that conversation, she kept emphasizing how much she liked me, but now I'm convinced that she hates me and that I'll forever be associated with a bad memory for her...

Relationships / Dating How can I fall out of love

Hello! Long time listener, first time caller here.

So I (39) came out later in life. I was married to a man for 8 years, and realized I was a lesbian. We worked it out with a lot of therapy and time, and are good friends now.

A few years later I tried dating, it was a lot of first dates, rejection, and casually searching for someone I would click with. Eventually I met an amazing woman (41) and we fell in love. We dated for about 7 months, and made it official 4 months ago.

When she told me she loved me, I was elated, and realized that I was in love with her too. She quickly became someone that I didn't want to live without. And things seemed to be going well.

We both ride motorcycles, one of the reasons we first connected, and she planned a romantic getaway for us, a long weekend in a cabin in the mountains, and we were to see the sights and enjoy some alone time together. The first half of the trip was the happiest I had ever felt in a long time.

But about halfway into our trip I noticed something was off. In pictures we took together, her body language changed. When she would normally have her arm wrapped around me, she kept as much distance as she could, and didn't touch me. I wanted to let it go, but I worked up the courage to talk to her about it.

I asked her if everything was okay, despite being on this romantic trip, she seemed to be keeping me at a distance. She admitted that she felt the spark had left, and that when she first told me she loved me (she said it first) it was because she was happy about a gift I bought her, but when she'd say it after that, she felt like she was lying. I was everything she wanted on paper, but she was afraid she can't love, is avoidant, and only wants to be friends with me.

It was devastating, and even worse, it was the middle of the trip, and I was trapped in the middle of nowhere, with no way to safely leave. All I had was my motorcycle, which is very unsafe to ride when emotionally distraught. So I had to wait, for hours, for a tow to arrive for my bike to get me home. Thankfully she paid for it.

My heart is broken. Before I met her, I thought I had loved someone before, but after unpacking all the comphet I went through being with men, I made the sad realization that she was probably the first person I ever truly let into my heart.

Despite everything, I still love her. If she asked, I know I would run back to her in a heartbeat. But I know that's not what she wants. I don't know how I am going to recover from this. She lit up my life in a way that I never thought possible.

I don't know how to move on, I want to hate her, to be angry, but all I can feel is a numbing pain.

What can I do to let her go? All I can think about is her.

Any advice, comfort, anything would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this.

Life I want a gf sooooo bad

As the title says. I want one soooo bad. I miss having one. I’m also not really in a good spot in my life to go out and go on dates and really like try? I work pretty much everyday. I recently moved into my first apt alone and I’m paying everything by myself. It’s honestly so hard but I also love it at the same time.

Yes I work my ass off but it feels nice to come home to an empty house and not have to worry about stepping on someone’s else feet. Anyways back to wanting a gf. I’ve tried and I get let down. I think I’m just too much for girls.

Last relationship I tried with everything. I want someone just to try for me. I thought I found someone about month ago but she also thought I was too much for her even though she was fine with it when I told her I was going to be too much for her but oh well 🤷‍♀️

Anyways just wanted to rant because I really don’t have anyone to talk to about this stuff

Questions / Advice Wanted U-hauled too soon and now our relationship is hanging on by a thread

I need advice from other wlw that happened to move-in too quickly. For context, my girlfriend 28F and I 25F moved in after dating for only 3 months. We already had been through some problems early on the relationship, however we were very much in love. It’s been 6 months and honestly some days it seems like we can’t stand each other. We went out during the weekend and nobody said a word until we did and it started a fight. We fight about our cats, about chores, petty little things. Our chemistry is not the same and when we did have good sex I was blacked out drunk and don’t remember a thing. Breaking up feels more like an option as time passes. Im traveling for 15 days and we won’t see each other until then. I don’t know what to do. We still have 6 months left on our lease. Is this normal? Is it just a phase? How can we move past this?

Relationships / Dating PLEASE HELP, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS GIRL

There’s this girl I work with and we get along really well. We talk a lot, joke around, and generally have a really good relationship. She’s also a lesbian, and sometimes she makes little flirty jokes with me. I’ve also caught her looking at me or looking for me when I’m somewhere else.

But sometimes I genuinely don’t know what to make of her behavior.

One day she’ll be completely fine with me, talking and joking like normal, and then the next day she’ll walk right past me without saying anything or even looking at me. We work in different departments, so it’s not like we have to interact constantly, but sometimes it feels like she’s deliberately ignoring me.

And honestly, it’s starting to hurt my feelings. I keep wondering if I did something wrong, if she’s annoyed with me, or if she just doesn’t feel like talking to me that day.

The confusing part is that sometimes her behavior makes me wonder if she might actually be interested in me. The flirting, the staring, the way she seems to look for me… but then she’ll suddenly act like I don’t exist, and that makes me VERY hesitant to do anything about it.

I don’t want to make things awkward at work or ask her why she’s ignoring me and make it seem like I’m expecting her attention. But at the same time, I’m tired of trying to figure out what’s going on in her head.

What would you guys do? Would you ask her directly if something is wrong, or just stop putting energy into it and let her come to you?

Relationships / Dating What even happened to dating?

I was fortunate enough to find a lovely women to date in college. We dated for 6 long amazing years. Unfortunately, things did not work out for many reasons i dont need to get into. Since then, ive had the opportunity to date a few women the past several years. I just wanna say, wtf happened? Theres been something wrong with every girl ive ended dating and i genuinely dont know what to make of it. In college me and my gf just chose each other and made it work till it didnt make sense anymore, mutually. Since then its been:

  1. Far too immature

  2. Ghosted me

  3. Admitted to dating a man who killed people for a living, knowingly "cuz it was hot" among other insane shit

  4. Cheated on her bf with me, i didnt know

  5. Ghosted me

  6. Randomly dumped me over the phone because her "type changed" and other totally innocuous reasons that made no sense (longest of the bunch, 1 whole year down the drain)

  7. Ghosted me

These are just the ones i dated. I went on plenty 1st dates where there were obvious red flags, simply no spark/unaligned goals, and a shocking amount of aromantic and/or asexuals (nothing against that, just disappointing)

I fear im absolutely cooked. What even happened

Relationships / Dating AITA- my girlfriend thinks I should apologize for spending my birthday how I wanted

Upvotes

Me and my girlfriend have argued about this situation everytime it comes up and I hate that she makes herself the victim but who knows maybe I am the asshole. So for context, the situation happened in October of 2024, It was the day of my birthday, keep in mind, I had been reminding my girlfriend of this all month of what I wanted so she wouldn’t struggle or just half-ass something (I told her I wanted a hand-written note and to see a Studio Ghibli movie that was playing in theaters at the time, we were both struggling with money back then so I didn’t ask for anything except a card, I only mentioned the movie because she insisted we had to do something so I made it simple for her). She brought up that she was gonna take the day off and all this other stuff. The day of my birthday comes and she admits that ended up not taking the day off but she would get off early which was ok, not a big deal, I told her we can do something the following day. I had made plans with my mom for earlier in the day and that me and her can just do something the following day and I would hangout with my friends the day of my birthday since our plans weren’t working out. She gets off earlier than she expected and then she decided to go pick up her dog, from her moms where he had been staying. However at her mom’s house, he was an outside dog and hadn’t had a bath in who knows how long. I told her that I would prefer if she waited one more day because I didn’t want him to make everything dirty, especially the day of my birthday. She ensured that she would shower him before she got home. Then she ended up just bringing him home and not showering him and as soon as he saw me, she let him jump on me after I had just finished getting ready to go see my mom. I was really upset even though it wasn’t that big of a deal because I felt that it was inconsiderate after I had just spoken to her about it and she had reassured me that she would take care of it and she didn’t. Anyways so after I left with my mom, she showers the dog and then decides to go to Target to barely get me something for my birthday. Anyways I get home, already suspecting that it’s gonna be a half-assed gift. And what do you know… she put together this half ass basket that had nothing that I liked except for one thing(cool ranch doritos but still no handwritten note either). The rest of the basket just looked like she picked up random things. I ended up being kind of upset and letting her know I was upset. I ended up telling her I was going to go out with my friends still (which was already planned btw since she didn’t take the day off, I switched plans with my friends to the day of my bday and mine and her plans to the following day) and she knew but she put the basket together and cooked dinner in hopes that I would stay home and spend the rest of my birthday with her, a part of me felt bad at the time, but it was also my day. I didn’t want to spend it being upset when I could go out and have fun after she literally ignored every single thing I said. Idk but everytime she brings this up, she says that I did her so dirty and she spent a bunch of money on me putting that basket together but she never takes how I was feeling into consideration when the day was literally supposed to be about me. I even tell her, how she spent all that money putting the basket together when she could have just done what I had wanted and it would have been cheaper and made me happier than what she put together. She then gets upset and tells me that I am ungrateful. So idk I am just wondering if it makes me an ungrateful person/bad girlfriend that I did that.
