I think it's great you're enjoying your walk and all, but the most common place for this to happen is at school. Seriously? One of the very few places on earth where you have a deadline on walking from one spot to another, and you decide to talk a leisurely stroll in front of everyone else.

For context this was a short talking about how a 9 year old married a 22 year old in 1937 and it wasn't uncommon to see replies defending it.

These people actually exist among us. How someone could possibly defend this is genuinely beyond me. You don't even need to research this anyone who's ever interacted with a child knows they aren't developed and can't consent. How do you even defend this? Generally, I don't like it when people impose rules on how you should enjoy something-like saying that if you didn't play the same way I did, you're a fake fan.
But it bothers me even more when those arbitrary rules are applied to a game like Minecraft—a game that actively encourages creativity and doing whatever you want-so I don't understand why anyone would get upset over something the game itself offers you.

I’m an avid animal lover so my first thought is, why are we placing human morality standards on fucking animals. Second, I grew up adoring Steve Irwin and watching animal planet all day. To hold any sort of animosity towards an entire species for acting in its nature? These people NEVER LOVED STEVE IRWIN IF THEY THINK THIS WAY. He would be rolling in his GRAVE if he found out people hate Sting rays for this reason.

It makes me so angry people use his name in vain to hate an animal when that was the exact reason he worked with animals in the first place.

People wanna act like now is the worst time to live in human history, and that the past was better and the future will be better. Like most of human history was not romantic and heroic, it was significantly more miserable, with a lack of medicine and knowledge making mortality much higher, and life much more painful. There is no guarantee the future will be better, and while it likely will be, being doomer about living in the now is so pointless and stupid. Regardless of the period, all life throughout history has and always will be filled with love, and joy, and beauty that people should revel in, instead of whining about the modern world being "bad" as a whole. I'm bisexual, love the LGTBQ, I am purely talking about the flag from a design standpoint. There is no metaphor here, no underlying implications, I'm just talking about how it LOOKS.

I really like the 2018 one, the triangle on the left works well and the color combination and visual design is very aesthetically pleasing.

The issue I have with the 2021 is the purple circle. The flag is all stripes and the circle just doesn't really work in that context. It's also too thin, the actual intersex flag has a much thicker circle, and this one has a thinner one which looks weird compared to the thick stripes. Yellow next to the white pink and blue is also not a very good color combo.

There seems to be a shift in adventure stories and the like that lean away from the typical kind, strong, charismatic knight/paladin archetype to favour more brutal rogue/assassin flavoured characters that laugh at the concept of fair play or mercy. Or maybe I’m just reading too much manwha idk. Now there’s nothing inherently wrong with this, the latter can be awesome in its own right, but I dont like how they often make the former look like bumbling fools in order to prop up their respective MCs. The good guy is a dumbass for sparing the life of his enemy. He’s a naive idiot for letting his opponent have a fair fight, even if they wouldn’t do the same to him. He’s an antiquated fool who cares more for his pride than the innocent if he’s morally against torture, terror, poison and other such tactics (This obviously has nothing to do with the historical codes of honour or the lack thereof, I’m only referring to the idealised fictional version here.)

“Mercy upon the ruthless is evil to the weak” is a sentiment you often see in regards to this, as if sparing the life of someone you’ve resoundingly beaten will 100% of the time lead them back to stealing/killing instead of them turning their life around after this sudden brush with death by the hand of a person who could’ve killed them but was good-willed enough to give them a second chance. Isnt this way cooler than the other cynical view? Not to mention that I am CERTAIN that the same people supporting this notion wouldnt be okay with cops executing surrendered criminals on the street, so why is it a problem if a Samurai or Knight doesnt do it?

They make Shimura, who in universe is a highly accomplished and respected Warlord who has won unwinnable battles against “dishonourable” foes before (the Yarikawa rebellion), seem like a bullheaded dumbass who’d punch a wall 20 times and come to the conclusion that he needs to punch harder in order to overcome it instead of just climbing over. His in-game ideals about honour dont even apply to his own troops, how do you “look your opponent in the eye” as an archer trickshotting pissants from a mountain range over? Or using fire and hornets on your foes? Im assuming his bowmen acted like actual bowmen in his battles instead of doing the CQC bow strat Yuna does, so how does he explain that away? He’s deliberately made to look like a dullard in order for the audience to more readily agree with the brutal, cutthroat tactics Jin is adopting. The mongols won because they had an obscene number advantage and knew all of the tactics the Samurai employed, not because (fictional) Samurai tradition is inherently stupid.

ONE of the biggest reasons I dislike and almost DESPISE the Peter/Jean pairing isn't simply because “Scott and Jean are a better couple.”which I could give multiple reasons in favor of,but Naaaah, It's that a LOT of the fanon surrounding Peter/Jean seems to require Jean Grey to become a COMPLETLY.DIFFERENT.CHARACTER.

Look at the fanarts.

1-Put Jean in Peter's Spider-Man suit. 2-Put MJ in Peter's Spider-Man suit. 3-Change the hair a little bit, or not even that...and suddenly the visual distinction between the two becomes almost entirely superficial.

And that's exactly what bothers me,Jean is not supposed to be “the new redheaded love interest for Spider-Man.”, because She isn't MJ with telepathy NOR a premium replacement for MJ because Peter/MJ's relationship is currently (and has been)for most, an embarassement in the comics.

Jean has an enormous identity and mythology COMPLETLY independent of Spider-Man. this isnt an obscure fact, people should know this even from the DISASTROUS romantic triangles with hugh jackman movies (Wolverine),cartoons,etc as a whole.

Maybe they dont,but the thing is that She's originally one of the central characters of the X-Men, a telepath and telekinetic, a Phoenix host, a mutant dealing with constant persecution and existential threats, a teacher, a leader, a mother, and someone whose life is deeply intertwined with Scott Summers and the entire history of the X-Men.

And yet, in a lot of Peter/Jean fanart,heres what happens to all of that:

-Peter saves/comforts Jean while Jean somehow completly understands Peter.

-Jean wears Peter's suit(which I can understand for fanarts whatever)

But then she just becomes Peter's superpowered redheaded girlfriend...

At some point, what exactly is left that makes this Jean Grey rather than “MJ, but she's,more dependent on someone else somehow,and a mutant”???

That's my biggest problem with the pairing.

And the Scott issue makes this even worse

Scott isn't some random ex-boyfriend who happens to be inconvenient piece to the ship.

Jean and Scott have literal decades of SHARED history. They're teammates, leaders, family, parents, and have gone through some absolutely batshit insane stuff together. Their relationship is pratically woven into the mythology of the X-MEN itself.

Remove Scott from Peter's story and obviously Peter Parker is still fundamentally Peter Parker.

Remove Scott from Jean's story and you're literally removing an enormous structural component of who Jean is.

Peter doesn't need Jean to be Spider-Man,sure, Jean also doesn't need Scott to possess an identity either, obviously, but pretending Scott can simply be REPLACED by Peter without fundamentally changing Jean's character is ridiculous.

And that's where the “MJ 2.0” feeling comes from.

Peter/Jean fanon frequently doesn't expand Peter's world by introducing him to Jean Grey's world.

It takes Jean Grey and moves her into Peter Parker's world,like any other spider man fantasy,the female characters are just add-ons to Peter,and instead of them having something that was much more understandeable as a mentorship,it became seen as unecessary romance and the actual "ideal outcome" between characters that literally have no reason to follow that path.

Instead of Peter having to enter the X-Men's world, understand mutant politics, understand Jean's responsibilities, understand her history with Scott, her family, the Phoenix, her complicated relationship with power and responsibility, etc.(Which tbh would thankfully never happen),even in scenarios with context from the comics people have Jean simply becoming another person orbiting SpiderMan.

Another thing is that this Spider man fantasy of saving her is especially bizarre.

Jean has spent decades dealing with powers that are vastly more dangerous and psychologically complicated than ANYTHING Peter could possibly “teach” her how to handle.

She doesn't need Spider-Man to rescue her from herself.

She doesn't need a man to make her powers manageable.

She DOESN'T NEED Peter to give her "purpose".

If anything, the interesting question would be what Peter would have to learn from Jean.

But that's rarely what the fanon actually focuses on.

The ship's internal logic is as complex as the critical thinking behind it:

So once again, Jean's enormous character history gets reduced to “powerful redhead who needs Spider-Man.”

Yeah, That's not Jean Grey,but she really seems like She's being cast in the MJ role.

And that's precisely why the “Jean Grey + Spider-Man suit” fanarts are so revealing.

Because when you strip away the X-Men costume, the Phoenix mythology, Scott, Rachel, Cable, the mutant experience, the X-Men, etc., what are you left with?

What irritates me most about Iansan's design is a lack of any African inspiration that is visually noticeable, such as not having a strong red base and copper accent trim dress, along with the design being entirely based on vaguely Latin American-influenced clothing traditions, which just defeats the purpose of having a character named after a mythical figure when nothing in their design shows the original inspiration. I want to make it clear my issue is with the design is a lack of any visually inspiration rather then it not being a 1-to-1 accurate representation given Natlan is ment to be a mixed of a Latin American, African and Polynesian cultures.
