Inspiration (30M) Moved out of the city and bought small mezzanine house.

First time posting, I’m a big fan and follower of this subreddit. And I was inspired to post my little home. As title suggests, I have moved out of the big city FINALLY! And bought my first place. It’s small and older than all the other houses/flats I looked at, but it was something about this place that felt right. The high ceilings, unconventional layout but had personality and character which I loved. The skylight adds so much natural light inside during the day, as you can see the plants have been thriving. I’ve started to appreciate a quieter life, doing more hobbies, planting my own veg and just slowly growing up I guess. Still plenty of work to do, I’ve mostly done the cosmetic stuff to make it look a little fresher. What do you guys think? Any suggestion in usage of space? I have tones of LEGO’s I’d like to put up but I don’t want to clutter things.

I live in a small (ish) studio in Copenhagen. This is my take at a living room.
I have a proper carpet and some small stuff arriving in the next few days. But I’m pretty happy about it so far.

44, PTSD addled backwoods hermit with an iron spine, hows my shack look?

I built it with whatever was on hand in the fall of 2015, rushing to be ready before the snow fell, built alone in about a month for under $5000.

No foundation (the feral barn cats shelter under it in winter , the possums live under the outhouse), no plumbing (haven't had s bath in a month, too many mosquitoes, dishes are soaking in the tub), no utilities, etc. some solar panels to run lights, charge a prepaid cell, and an old win7 laptop sometimes. Lot of the year its oil lamps for light and no power at all. No fridge, no ac. Only heat is the wood stove. Sanitation barely exists, got an outhouse, and an artesian well. My drinking and washing water all come from the same source. No carpet, just chipboard uninsulated floor. Cabin has 1-2" spray foam insulation on walls and ceiling. No bed, i sleep on a couch (mostly because I have a hard time on a bed with being locked into a slumped forward hunchback shape with half my spine bolted together since a logging injury, i sleep with my spine in the V between the back rest and the seat). Weather ranges between -40 and 105f. Up on the Canadian boarder, gotta watch my step around these parts or might accidentally step in Quebec.

Class 08 Wanakena Ranger School (forestry college) and grew up rural poor.

I'm a pornstar on r/shittyfoodporn because i post my terrible rations almost daily and they are often quite horrible due to no fridge and only getting a ride to town a couple times a year. Lots of terrible looking stuff that Rambo wouldn't eat.

Tax man decided this shack is now worth $60k and my taxes trippled, what y'all think?

Update: im overwhelmed by all the comments, trying to keep up, will be up voting every even if i don't directly reply.

The living room is where I spend most of my time, either working remote or for my free time. The TV might be suitable for the subreddit TVtoohigh, but idc, I like it like that. Then there is one side of the kitchen showing the custom made working space, the bathroom and a pic of the sunrise shown from my terrace. The bedroom is too messy to include it here. What do u think about it?

Hello!

I love lurking on this sub and seeing other peoples living spaces, so I figured it'd be fun to show off mine a bit! I moved into my first apartment in late May and have been trying to slowly add some life into the place. The living room is pretty barebones atm, though I'm trying to sell the mini fridge and some weights to make space for a couch and tv stand. I'm using the 2nd bedroom as an art room to try and get myself to engage in my hobbies more. I'm trying to find a nice balance of whimsy/fun to my bedroom without it going full-on manchild/gooncave, which I feel is the direction it's in atm.

I'd like to frame some records and comic books, as well as get more plants and rugs, but all of my paychecks lately have been going right into bills and groceries :/ Thrifting and facebook marketplace has been a godsend tho.

Wanted to gain some space back indoors and have a spot to call my own, so I spent the past 3 months converting my shed into a finished office and media room space. I am very fortunate to have learned many new skills. Will never touch drywall mud again if it can be helped!

The place isn’t huge, but it has sufficient storage and I’m in a lovely neighborhood! The only things I have to do are mount the TV, hang some more artwork, and maybe get a cushion for the window nook. Any other suggestions?

Was Homeless before here… going on my 2nd year. Very grateful & very happy.

It’s in NTX & it’s $1k rent + water, electricity, gas… I’m 10 mins from all grocery stores. Highway is 5 mins away. Downtown of this beautiful city is within walking distance.
