A Media mail inspection led to my 45 being cut into. Yes it skips, I knew it would the second I saw the cut from outside the sleeve. I don’t know what “triggers” a media mail inspection. Outside of bitching out my local postman what do I do? When I looked up the tracking number I was hit with a “not eligible for refund” I’ve lived here for a year buying and selling records. This box was like a “castaway” style packaging with a cardboard piece folded in half, which was fine in transport! But when your employee takes a knife and cuts INTO THE RECORD ITSELF. Ffs, I’m so done with 2026.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for stands to display a record sleeve while I play an album? If I have to see another one of those asinine, 3D printed "Now Playing" stands, I'm going to lose my mind. I want something that's more elegant than just a simple plastic stand without it looking tacky like the "Now Playing" ones.

Would it be technally possible to have a record made via a 3d printer? Has this ever been done, as far as any of you know? I imagine that would be a good cheaper way to make limited-run records.

I finally got around to organising my records some time ago, and I’ve since realised how useful it’s been in making sense of my musical journey. It’s definitely reached the point where I need to be far more restrained in what I buy, but that in itself has become a useful exercise in "curation".

Also, if you’re just starting out: for the love of God, it’s never too early to catalogue!

End of month work nonsense only allowed for 3 in the A-Z however I also got to spin the new Interpol which arrived today and was everything I needed it to be.

This is the One Step Vinyl pressing of Hybrid Theory and Meteora and they are incredible. If you’re a fan of Linkin Park and have the means and system which excels at vinyl playback, I highly recommend them.

Highlights for last month would definitely be picking up first presses of of New Order for £10 and Pet Shop Boys for £5 from my local charity shop as well as an immaculate Greece pressing of Beatles A Hard Day's Night for £10.

Overall been a solid month. Only Womack Sister, Sade and B4DA$$ were bought new.

I definitely stand by the rule "buy what you like". There's something for everyone here lol. This is about a couple years of collecting, with a lull in between of say, 3-4 years where I lost interest for a bit. I'm not into collecting stuff I won't listen to. This includes most the audiophile classics, jazz classics, the 70s/80s/90s classics, etc. Also, I don't buy LPs for just 1-2 songs. I have to like at least half the album, haha. Otherwise why buy music I won't listen to? Surprisingly, 200 LPs takes up a lot of space anyway.

In this collection, only two are bootlegs: Ween's the 'The Mollusk' and 'Portrait of an American Family' by Marilyn Manson (MA and ACS are legit).

Anyway, I'm not asking for any recommendations, although I'll take'em if you got'em.

Bought this recently. Once I got it I thought 'well, what now?' since I didn't immediately have anything I needed to test. Funnily enough, one of the speakers dropped out while doing this and I ended up actually using the 'scope to track down a dodgy AV lead I had jury-rigged up for this 🙂

Been collecting records again for almost 2 years and here's where I'm at now. Thoughts, roasts, props, etc all welcome here on my musical taste. I want about a thousand more lol but ya know, money 💰

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT around the World

Not one, but two pretty expensive original Samhain records damaged horribly. I am the seller, shipped media mail with no insurance. Sucks to have lost the sale, the original cost of the records, but really, the thing that actually hurts more is there are now 2 less copies of Samhain vinyl which haven't been officially reissued since the 90s. Feels like a crime that I had to pay the shipping for this to happen.

Seems like they are having a few issues now, or is it always like this? I did a 3 month sub for HU, Weezer and Primus. Already lost out on primus, and now I just got an email that HU is delayed. So far not starting out on a good note for my subsctiption. Not sure if I'll renew or not.
