Discussion The artwork of Paper Mario 64 is unmatched
This isn't a nastalgia bias. I grew up with TTYD, since the day of its release. Ive played every subsequent game or watched them on YouTube as they came out. My first time playing PM64 was in 2023. Ive played it every year since, so this is my fourth playthrough.
This time im really focusing on the artwork, various NPCs and all the dialogue. Im trying to absorb EVERYTHING in this game
One thing I can say I wish Mario had more of, was artwork like this first picture of the Koopa Brothers. So much personality.
I feel wirh the 3d models of the main series too many of the characters look very similar, and with the Paper Mario series to me it feels more uninspired as rhe series goes on.
Im just really appreciating the look of this older game, the sprites and artwork just look more fun and fit the "mario story" aesthetic
Tl;dr: paper mario series fanoy recently played the original for the first time and thinks, overall, it is the most charmingly beautiful game of the series
