Question What is everyone's multi-USB solution?

Upvotes

My PC setup, like many I suspect, is festooned with USB devices into the back of the PC. I've got a PCIe USB hub in there, but still have the PC maxed out. And it causes issues - my flag box doesn't play nice.

So wondering what other folks are doing to have their USB devices work together. Reliably (or indeed not!).

Rigs My MOZA R5 setup got a little out of hand.

Post image
Upvotes

It started with an R5 and a wooden steering wheel because I wanted a quick-release setup. Then I wanted more immersion, so I kept adding things:

• head tracking for a “half-VR” experience

• bass shakers

• dual-channel wind simulation

• handbrake

• H-pattern and sequential shifting

• multiple steering wheels for different types of cars

I spent most of my time tuning the bass shakers. I used 0–2000 Hz frequency sweeps as a reference and eventually limited the tactile system to roughly below 100 Hz. Above that, I let the speakers and the room provide the acoustic punch, while the shakers provide the physical impact and the R5 provides the steering feedback.

For sim racing, I actually keep the tactile effects pretty simple: idle, RPM, gear shifts, road impacts and one additional effect depending on the game.

The fun part is that the bass shakers aren’t dedicated to racing — I also use them for music and movies.

It took a lot more time to tune than to buy. Now I just sit down and drive. 😂

Question Is there any way to know if I’m demanding too much of the tyres?

Upvotes

I don’t use the tyres hud so I want to know if there is any way to know I’m using too much of it, other than suddenly knowing I’m out of grip. Like some predictive way of knowing I’m doing too much or something. Could I be understeering too much? Or oversteering too much? What is the base to know other to minimize the inputs?
Like sometimes I don’t know if im underdriving the grip and I could go harder

Question Thrustmaster T3pm brake problem

Upvotes

Discussion Beginner needing some help getting used to gear.

Upvotes

I just got a brand new moza r5 (with a moza ks incoming too along with a wheel stand)

Edit: The game im playing is LMU, i mention forza just to show im having problems in arcade games too

I assumed this was just like driving my IRL car (fun fact: apparently im also not great at that either since i crashed and totalled my car last friday while 100% SOBER (totally my skill issue)

Anyways, this does NOT feel like driving IRL to me, even while playing forza horizon. I dont know what im doing wrong, ive followed some guides on how to setup force feedback and some other settings in LMU and its just weird.

I feel like im fighting the wheel as opposed to ME controlling the car. The wheel is kinda hard to turn and im overall having difficulty's even keeping it on the track going slow.

Same on forza.

I have around 400h of controller racing on GT7 and i assumed it would be somewhat easy to translate at least throttle control from the triggers to the pedals and it is NOT easy.

Anyways, sorry for the rant but i was wondering if someone has some tips on how to get better at this. Im a really competitive person and being this ass is frustrating me alot. Any help is needed and appreciated

Edit: some of that pedal issues might be because the angle of the pedals is NOT comfortable for me and i cant really do anything about it until my wheel stand arives (Gt Omega DD-X)

Question AC & Content Manager, racing for newbie

Post image
Upvotes

I switched from console to PC a while back, wanting a more immersive experience and hoping to get away from chaos monkeys lurking in PlayStation online racing.

I got Content Manager and all the plugins installed and spent a few months working out the controls and settings and lapping Nurburgring, Spa etc. I feel like I'm finally ready to join an online race (or at least practice laps with real humans!)

I joined the Danealue Racing community on Discord but am not sure where to go or what the protocol is for casual racing..

Mostly I DON'T want to be that guy who messes up someone's league!

Rigs Got this G920 and stand for $xx from a buddy, I need to know if there’s a best place to get the pigtails for the cords?

Post image

They packed in a hurry and I’m missing the cord into the power brick and the proprietary pigtail to USB.

Also I’m thinking of listing for like $225? What you think? Midwest USA.

Question BeamNG good FFB settings for Moza R9?

Hey,

I just bought BeamNG and would appreciate if you would share some good FFB setting. Moza Pit house settings would be nice too, since there a no presets.

Maybe a link to a good tutorial would be helpful too, I'm a bit overwhelmed with the settings and mods and tracks/ gamemodes, basically the whole game.

Thanks:)

Clip I made the Forza speedometer realistic

Hey everyone, I'm Views, a networking engineer. This is a project I've been working on for some time, and I'm happy to share it with you all.

The normal Forza speedometer shows the car’s ground speed, but it doesn’t show what the driven wheels are actually doing when they spin or lock. I found this ironic, since the FH6 developers spent a ton of time bettering the physics in this game and they actually expose each wheel's data locally. I wanted that information without turning the screen into a giant telemetry dashboard, so I built Wisp.

This is a gameplay capture I just took using the latest version of Wisp. It shows wheel-indicated speed, G-force, and a HUD designed to be a 1:1 copy of the native game. The speedometer has less than 5ms of latency, so it's essentially a better version of the stock speedometer without giving any performance up. It's free, open source, and I plan to support it for a while. I'd love some feedback!

Discussion Looking for feedback on my lap of kyalami. 1:43.8

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This isn't my fastest lap but close enough. The biggest difference with this and my fastest time (1:43.3) is that I took a couple more corners in 2nd as opposed to 1st. But I'm wildly inconsistent with it (only hitting 1:43 3 times ever as opposed to hitting it in 3 straight laps with the gearing from this video). I know this time is middle of the pack and I'm simply looking to improve even if it means completely tearing down some things.

Question How to reduce aluminum rig resonance?

Recently I “upgraded” from a macguyvered wooden stand to a foldable aluminum frame.

My only problem is that my moza r5 shakes the ever loving piss out of this thing, it’s basically a massive tuning fork. The wood rig could handle the vibrations, it wasn’t even noticeable. but it’s too big for my room.

Would placing a foam pad under the rig help? Currently I attached the wheel with rubber dampers and it helped a little bit, but I’m wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and how it’s dealt with.

Rigs The best Quick Release system out there right now?

Sim racing has evolved drastically since the pandemic. Tons of new companies have emerged, some pushing closed ecosystems while others give us the freedom to mix and match hardware. Almost every single one of them has engineered their own quick-release system. After a lot of research, hands-on testing, I’ve come to the conclusion that one specific QR stands entirely above the rest. From the design, the solid metal construction, and the choice of premium materials, it is just flawless. Best of all, it's so practical that I can literally connect my steering wheel to the direct drive base with only one hand. While the official manufacturer's version of this QR is quite expensive, aftermarket companies have replicated the design to the point where it’s genuinely hard to tell the difference. There are even sophisticated alternative versions out there with integrated chips that trick the wheel base into thinking you are staying within the official ecosystem, all for about a third of the price. Because of that cross-compatibility and build quality, I truly believe this style is the best QR option on the market at this time. I’m intentionally not mentioning any specific brands here so this doesn't get misjudged as an ad, but if you know, you know!

What quick-release system are you currently running on your rig, and are you happy with it?

(I'll drop the picture in the comments below because Reddit is glitching my image uploads right now!)

Rigs D-Box G5. Thoughts on adding this in 2026?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm looking for opinions into the D-Box G5. It's recently seen a significant price cut which makes it much more attractive. At a smidge under $6K this makes it more palatable than the $8K standard price point. Is it still a good motion system given all of the other systems out there at this price point given how long the system has been on the market? Really just looking for feedback (no pun intended) and thoughts. Thanks!

Question Looking for an upgrade to my current setup

Hey everyone, I’m looking to sell my old G29 and upgrade to something better. I’m fresh out of highschool and landed my first job so i came here to try to get suggestions on what to buy :)

Im pretty casual but just want something a little nicer and more responsive, the G29 feels more like a cheap toy at this point and I’m looking for something more robust

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, just thought this would be a good place to start 😄
