As the post says I really need help I bought a 3ds xl recently but it came with parental controls I’ve done everything for the master key and every time I get one it’s wrong I even payed 50 cents to the official Nintendo to get another wrong master key if anyone could possibly help me get the code I’d appreciate it I just want to play games with my brother

I want to play something that’s like, “this is the game you MUST play before you die.” I’ve played the popular titles like Tomodachi, Animal Crossing, the Mario titles, I’m wondering if there’s anything out there I need to experience. :] preferably not something with a long term daily commitment (like the aforementioned tomodachi and AC), a story game would be nice..?

Looking for a good grip for my 3ds, does anyone have any recommendations for specific grips?

For context, I bought a 3ds to repair it, and have done well so far! Needed a new top screen, easy enough (yes even with the fishing through the hinge, which was the worst part). Issue is, however, it will only stay on for a second or two, make a loud "thump" (such a technical term, no idea how to describe the sound...)and shut off. Noticed on the bottom screen ribbon cable there's a gap on one side it looks like, between the end and the rest of the cable, like a portion got worn off. Whats the chance this is causing the no start? Every other ribbon checks out, at least from what I saw!

If so, guess I get ANOTHER screen...

Right bumper area cracked open, someone told me they'd fix it for me, they got started but now they're not around anymore and I have no clue how to finish this on my own (I've looked into it and it seems like a nightmare tbh). All the sites I've seen seem kinda sketchy, there's nothing I can find locally either, is there anywhere people would recommend as reputable? Don't really give a dang about anything but recovering the data because it was my first 3DS and it has *all* my street pass progress and Pokemon Bank info on it.

Hi! My New 3DS XL has been having a strange problem… so a couple of years ago it fell off 1 floor to a hard marble floor. We (me and my family) thought it was Dead so we just stored it in a drawer and forgot about it (well i won‘t forget the beating OF MY LIFE THAT DAY)

Fast forward to 3 days ago when i charged it (i was bored and tested if it still works) and TO MY SHOCK, it charged… but when i tried to turn it on, the blue light appeared but the screen didn‘t show up.

Now, i have already known the fix is to maybe update the System (which sounded logical figuring my 3DS was brand new and about 3 weeks old when it broke) so i got it into safe mode but when i releades the buttons (L + R + Up + A) it just froze, sound dissapeared and nothing worked. So i shut it off by just holding the power button for 15 seconds. I later tried again, released L and R but the second my finger even moved on Up or A it froze again. I then held every button while doing the system update but nothing changed. I then looked online for tutorials, found one, did what the guy did (pushing the thing from the picture up and then down carefully) but nothing changed. We even tried removing the SD card and tried again but still nothing…

Does anybody know how to fix the 3DS? I‘d find it more usefull information if the person replying is/was focused/familliar on fixing 3DS‘s

And does someone have a simular thing happening to them? (And sorry for my bad english because i‘m Croatian and we don‘t have that great of english classes)

I left my 3ds xl in my backpack for 2 days and when I opened it, there were black marks on my screen

I took my shell off just to check the battery which is completely fine and not swelling and went back to put my shell on but I just doesn't snap in place no matter how hard I press, I even used a small soft ended mallet and it didn't work, I have no idea why does anyone know what can be wrong?

I opened the 3ds xl for a deep clean, a part of the hinge broke and I think the flat cable is cooked for the digitizer is cooked. I took a day to mount and dismount it, the shell wont even fit in properly. Should I try to fix it or get at least some value for it?

I had no idea what caused this issue, but when it first appeared I tried replacing the pcb of the dpad. Yet that didn't do anything, so I decided to unplug all 3 forms of navigating the 3ds (Circle Pad, C-Stick, & Dpad) but the issue still occurs. And it isn't the touch screen as nothing is bending it or interacting with it

I don't know what to do, and there isn't anywhere near me that can repair 3DS consoles.

I wanted to test my Smash cart because I heard about corruption. It popped up as normal when i inserted it, but when I actually go to play it’s just black screens. I also am unable to go to the home menu or do anything else when this happens. I have to remove the cart and force reboot. Help 😢

Like you see in the picture - there is a little dot in the gold stripes. Didnt know it was there cause i didnt play the game for a very long time.
Or is this cartridge gone?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I’m looking for a carry case for a New Nintendo 3DS XL/LL that can comfortably fit it while it’s got a clear shell/TPU shell on it. I was just wondering if anyone had recommendations or anything that’s popular to use for it!

hi everyone! having a bit of an issue here and have yet to resolve it:( to preface: i got my new 3ds xl off of marketplace about a week ago, and finally got some free time so i went to reset it in the "other settings" tab to be able to get my info registered. it turned off to reset and has yet to come back on.

i don't recall dropping it or having bumped it before this, and it worked perfectly fine prior to me resetting it. i am able to get into recovery mode, but when i go to update it the window pops up and says "An error has occurred. Update cannot be completed. System will turn off now." or something similar, and powers off. if i try to turn it on without going into recovery mode, i am forced to hold the power button for 10s before it'll turn off again, and all i get is black screens.

it technically would be considered modded now, i've messed with luma, cfr, and GodMode and other things to get it to work but still nothing. i'm kind of at a loss because it's hard to find repair shops near me and i don't have an extreme amount of tech knowledge.

i'm not even trying to play using internet either, i just want the darn thing to at least turn on to a home page lol and also for more context, ive tried booting up the GodMode and luma screens and nothing shows.

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey Friends, I read a few days ago about how 3ds games need to be "repaired" every once in a while with a program in a modded 3ds. It had me thinking I may need to get a modded one. So.my questions are, what systems can be modded for this repair? Do I need to open my sealed 3ds games to do it? What is the expected price point for a modded system? I have all the Zelda 3ds/2ds. However I do not want to get any of them modded.

I really want to play New Leaf right now, but my 2DS has really bad stick drift. It just won't stop moving.

The drift has actually been happening for a few years, but I recently picked up my 2DS again because I've been having a huge Animal Crossing craze for the past few days, and I really wanted to play New Leaf again. I actually had a town on my 2DS when I was younger, but one day I got scammed by someone who promised me bells if I deleted my town, so I deleted it and obviously never got the bells. I lost the town and haven't really played Animal Crossing since because it was honestly too sad. But it's been about a decade now, and I'm really looking forward to New Horizons, so I thought it would be nice to play New Leaf again for a bit for old time's sake.

Unfortunately, the stick drift is making that impossible. I've tried using compressed air to clean it, but it didn't help. I couldn't even get through the Animal Crossing menu because the character/cursor just keeps moving. I also tried playing Nintendogs because that's basically the only other game I have that uses the stick, and it's the same thing. The constant turning and spinning is honestly giving me a headache.

I've already taken the 2DS apart to try to fix it, but at this point I need to replace the joystick. I've ordered a replacement part and I'm waiting for it to arrive, so I can't really use the 2DS properly right now.

Meanwhile, I bought Animal Crossing: New Horizons second hand on Vinted for my Switch, and I'm waiting for it to be delivered this week. But I really want to play New Leaf in the meantime.

I consulted ChatGPT about whether I could play New Leaf on a PC emulator for now and then somehow move the save back to my 2DS once I've repaired it. It told me that there are fan-made tools that can work with New Leaf saves and that emulator saves can potentially be transferred to a real 3DS, but that normally you'd need something like Checkpoint/homebrew on the 2DS.

The problem is that I really don't want to modify my 2DS. New Leaf is legitimately purchased from the eShop on it, and I'd like to keep it completely unmodified.

I know this is probably something I wouldn't know how to figure out myself because I'm not very skilled with technical stuff, but I wanted to ask actual people who know more about this.

Is there any way to take a New Leaf save from an emulator and convert/reformat it into whatever format the stock 2DS expects, without installing CFW or modifying the 2DS?

I'm willing to try something complicated if there's a way to do it. I just don't know enough about how the save files work to know whether this is even technically possible.

Has anyone done something like this, or does anyone know of a tool that could make it possible?

I've been thinking about buying a Japanese 3DS (which you can't change the language of). I was always going to home-brew it for themes and whatnot, and I know that it's able to region unlock the console to play foreign games. I wouldn't like to do a firmware swap because from what I've heard its a very long and tedious process that might break the console (it also gets you banned from online services but those don't exist any more so :P). I'm asking mostly because posts about this are generally quite old and mention apps no longer in development (like lunaLocaleSwitcher).

Alright I’ve posted about my 2Ds XL a few times but I’m curious about how I should go about getting the shell fixed. The bottom mid shell is broke at the hinge connecting the top screen and above the bottom screen is it still possible to send it to Nintendo for repairs if it’s modded? Or should I give up on the idea.

EDIT: For clarification I live in the middle of no where appalachia so repair shops are pretty much non existent in my area so any recommendations on how to proceed would be helpful given I am a beginner in 3Ds / 2Ds repairs

So I've been working with two cartridges that don't fully work. One, Pkm Y, and Smash Bros for the 3DS.

I've been running the programme through the pokémon game and always get roughly 10000 unfixable chunks. Should I keep trying?

Now, about the Smash Bros title. It did work for a quick match, but failed the verification, so I ran it through the corruption reparation. Thing is, it's been running for over two days, currently still stuck at 16% and with 1973 unfixable chunks and growing. Am I taking a big risk if I cancel the process? Should I let it run until it finishes, in about a week?
