I looked at this model on Amazon for CAD $75. The price is low enough that I won't cry if it fails, but high enough that I don't want to buy known junk.

I know that there are a ton of these on the market at wide price points, and I think most likely 80% of them are exactly the same product, but you never know. Wondering if anyone has used this model or at least this 'manufacturer'

Im looking for garage door opener recommendations. Currently I use the MyQ app, but I’m starting to get annoyed with stopping the bike, unlocking the phone, opening the app, logging in again (Face ID doesn’t with with helmet), then waiting for a signal (reception for some reason just outside my garage is shit for wifi and cell). I’m to the point I just want to press a button. I see a couple Amazon options with mixed reviews (if you can even believe Amazon reviews these days), so looking for a weather resistant handlebar or similar mounting option where I can just press a button. What are you using that you recommend?

It was outclassed for many good reasons, I won't argue there. Not to mention the "been there done that" architecture. But I just picked up a 2018 with around 6k miles and man, what a fun machine. The middleweight nature of the bike combined with the inline 4 hits this sweet spot where you can really play with the engine while you ride it. The inline 4 gains torque as your rpms increase, so with a 11.5k red line this bike is a ton of fun to ride. The z900 and mt09 are obviously better on paper, but I think the reason this bike shines is *because* it's a little less powerful.

There's cons to the bike of course, but I have been having a blast on this thing. It appeals to a certain kind of rider perfectly. It seems like the market has shifted to parallel twins for these kinds of bikes, which makes sense. But man, with a decent slip on, this thing sounds and feels like I'm on a race track. Not to mention the Suzuki air intake sound 😮‍💨. The bike is heavy but I have found that I kind of like that about it. It disapears once I'm in motion, and adds to the fun of making it roar. In my opinion at least.

Anyone have a similar experience with one of these, or am I delusional here?

Recently I have had terrible experience with a MotoCop. To be perfectly honest it was probably my fault, but in all fairness I think his attitude was completely unwarranted and unprofessional.

Recently I finished early from work one afternoon and decided since it was around midday I would hit the local mountain for a chill little cruise on my new CBR500.

On this particular mountain there is a straight flat section that is about 700-800 metres long. I stupidly decided to do a small pull considering the road was completely clear and I could clearly see the whole road in front of me. I only did a little 3rd gear flick from 50kph and wasn't really checking my speed. Next thing I know from deep in the bushes on the other side of the road I see the red and blue lights. I immediately knew it was for me as there was literally NO ONE on the road. I pull over straight away to avoid any issues and just see if I can maybe reduce the damage my wallet was about to receive.

This particular cop pulls up behind me and before I can even say hello, he is immediately in my face screaming at me about my speeding and how I was endangering everyone on the road around me (Just me and Him on the road). Then he gives me my speed 83 in a 60 (Fair, That's on me). Then he starts pacing around my bike and starts listing everything that was wrong with my bike (purchased 2nd hand). Listing that my mirrors were a defect, my exhaust was a defect and my tail tidy which doesn't have a reflector was a defect.

I tried to explain that I had only bought it a couple weeks ago from someone and I didn't have the original parts. To which he responded "wasn't his problem". And started writing me fines that ended up being around $3k all up, plus now I have to get all the original parts to replace the aftermarket ones. Then when he was done preceded to say "have a good one" after f**king me.

Was this warranted, Was he having a bad day, Was I the way to reach the qouta or did he decide to give me no grace?

This interaction has completely ruined my perception of highway patrol, And I was so confused because everywhere I look online most people seem to have great experiences with motocops. Has anyone else had a negative experience with them?

Edit: Yes I was aware of all of the mods, Just thought I would be okay, since nearly every bike I see on the road has the exact same mods I do. I know this is a generalisation. I am an idiot.

But I'm more talking about their professionalism and attitude then the tickets. And y'all acting like you have never done the exact same as I have in this situation.

I got a new to me bike, 98 Suzuki GSF 600, and it does jerk a little when low in the rpm or engine braking, the previous owner also said it should get the carbs checked. So should I do them now when there might not be too long to ride since I live in Finland where the riding season is short, or do it in the spring before the next season starts?

How much could be the difference between these two handguards regarding windchill in the cold months? The first one looks like so much sleeker in my opinion (SW-Motech), but the second seems more practical (Puig). Bike is a small CB500 with an added touring windscreen.

Edit: I have factory installed heated grips, a quite ok pair of winter glove, and cheap ugly hippo hands for the most extreme weather.

Finally got my first bike running thanks to the shop I gave it to. Issue is im only one 2 day MSF course and a little less than a week worth of riding under my belt. Im getting dropped off to pick up my bike some time later tn and now im getting news that its raining and probably gonna be bad when I arrive to get the bike. I just got new tires put in 😂 how screwed am i gonna be? Any advice aside from dont ride it on fresh tires in the rain with limited experience riding?

I ride in a white/Origami RF-1400, and the bug splatters are killing me in all the little nooks and crannies.

How are you guys getting bug guts out of those really small areas?

I’m tempted to get a steam gun from Harbor Freight, but I’m hoping for something a little easier.

For the visor, I just drape a wet paper towel over it, then spend some time scrubbing with a microfiber.

There has to be a better way to clean that junk off!

Hi everyone. My yamaha r6 08-16 started doing this thing where it doesn’t even crank.. Was able to start the bike yesterday after charging the battery for ~ 5/6h. The battery is not the issue as I tried with another battery. It started yesterday no problem. Took her for a ride for 10/15m. Came home, tried to turn her on again, nothing. After pressing the start the dash lights and everything turns off momentarily, for a millisecond. Doesn’t crank. Everything shuts off for a split second and it comes back on as you see in the video. I saw a bit of smoke from the seat area, (battery, start relay..) The negative terminal was kinda hot when I touched it. I also checked the ground and it looks okay to me. If anyone has a suggestion, please share. Thank you.

A couple of my buddies want to go on about a 2 hour long round trip on our bikes. One of my friends say my tire is too worn and one says it’s fine. What’s the opinions on it? It’s a shinko 180/70/15 on a Vulcan 900 custom.

I’m on a 2014 FXDB, my buddy on a 99 R1100GS. Was a dream of mine since I started riding. I had an accident two months ago and didn’t think we’d make it but we did. We had some scary storms, wildlife encounters and strange people but that just made it all the more memorable. Truly blessed to be able to ride and with some good people along the way. Love this community.

I dont ride hard at all and have the need to replace my front tire, what are your thoughts. Mfg dating 2005. Tires have been stored properly .

Perhaps it’s because I’m ok the shorter side at 5-8 or because I’m middle aged and not as flexible as I once was, or that I have a hip issue (thanks AVN), but I rarely throw my leg over the bike to get on.

Technically I can get one leg over if I really need to but it’s not that comfortable, I have to be on my tip toes and lean way over — it’s not easy.

When getting on my MT-07 I step on the peg and then throw my leg over the bike. This is a lot easier and more comfortable.

I can get my leg over much easier on my Grom.

I’m looking for some help diagnosing an issue with my 2021 Yamaha Tracer 7 (CP2) with around 24,000 km / 15,000 miles.

Recently the bike has started behaving differently at idle.

Symptoms:
Idle has become noticeably less smooth/steady than before.
The bike occasionally stalls while idling.
It seems to happen more often when the engine is cold, although the idle doesn’t feel completely smooth when warm either.
The check engine light has now also come on.
Every time I start the bike, whether the engine is completely cold or already warm, the RPM briefly shoots up to around 3,000–4,000 rpm before dropping back down.
Once running and riding, the bike generally seems to run much better than it does at idle.
The battery also seems to drain fairly quickly if I leave the ignition switched on without the engine running.

I have checked the battery/charging system and the numbers seem healthy:
Engine off: around 12.6 V
During starting: around 11.0 V
At 4–5k rpm: around 14.0 V

So I don’t currently think the charging system is the main problem.

The bike has around 24,000 km on it. I’m wondering if this could be related to:
Idle Speed Control / ISC valve
Dirty throttle bodies
Throttle body synchronization
Vacuum/intake leak
MAP/TPS or another sensor
Spark plugs/coils
Injector/fueling issue

The high 3–4k RPM flare on every startup, including with a warm engine, combined with the unstable idle and occasional stalling, makes me particularly suspicious of the idle control/throttle body system.

I’m going to read the stored fault code before clearing anything.

Has anyone with a 2021+ MT-07 / Tracer 7 / CP2 experienced something similar?
What ended up being the cause?
And are there any specific hoses, sensors, throttle body/ISC components or common failure points you would recommend checking first?

Hey folks! This'll be my third bike. First being a 2012 F800 GS and my second a 2015 CRF 250 Rally. I was kinda coaxed into getting both of them and learned that I don't much like off roading and my honda spent 99% of it's time in my possession commuting to work in the city. After not riding for the past 5 years it's time for something new!

Not wanting another adventure bike I started looking at Honda Shadows. Something at least with ABS but I wasn't to keen on the looks. Comes and goes. After some more looking and reading my focus shifted to the T120. The styling and size are both good and seems there's a pretty decent After market.

My question to the T120 riders, how is it on the highway and in the rain? That's my biggest concern. My plan would be to get some saddle bags and a windscreen for it and take it south, and out west to the coast. Being in the middle of Alberta I'll be dealing with a lot of cross winds on the highway and once I get out to BC im sure I'll be seeing a fair bit of rain. Not to say i haven't delt with either before and I know a lot of it is just skill but will i be absolutely miserable dealing with either on a long trip?

This is my first bike, I'm getting it in 4 months from now, I've seen a lot of bikes, tried riding jawas, enfields and the cb350s and I've finally decided on either the classic 350, an old bullet 350 or a cb350 hness. My cousin already has the classic 350 and idk if I'm ready to go through the headache of maintaining an old bullet. The hness is my favourite to get rn, and I wanted to get the back rest for it and in red and it looked really nice, but the only thing is, the bike feels too small for me. The classic feels about right and feels really comfortable, so does the hness but the hness feels smaller. I go to college everyday, 18km up and down each, so 36km a day, mainly city roads and the occasional highway but I live near the highway, so I might go very often, if petrol money permits💔 which bike should I get, i mainly care about the feel of the bike, the looks, and the mileage to an extent.

Title: Installed front straps on my ZX-10R — weird brake hum/drag after install, am I overthinking it?

I’ve been working on turning my ZX-10R into more of a drag/roll-racing setup and installed a set of front straps today. I had the front calipers off to install the strap brackets, reused the factory caliper bolts, torqued everything back down, and made sure the brackets/straps weren’t physically touching the rotors

Right after the install, when I rolled the bike around slowly in neutral, I noticed a pretty noticeable humming/rubbing sound from the front brakes. At first it had me convinced something was dragging or misaligned. I went back through everything, loosened/reseated the calipers, checked the brackets, pumped the brakes, spun the wheel, etc.

After taking it on a test ride and using the brakes a few times, the sound basically went away. The brakes feel completely normal on the road — firm lever, no pulling, no vibration, no weird braking behavior. When I came back and slowly rolled the bike into the garage, I could still hear a faint hum/squeak from the front at walking speed, especially right after using the front brake.

Does this just sound like normal pad-to-rotor contact that became more noticeable because I disturbed/reinstalled the calipers, or is there something specific I should be checking with front strap brackets?

I’ve been wrenching on this bike basically all day getting parts installed because it’s going on the dyno in a few hours, so there’s also a very real chance I’m just hyper-focusing on every little noise at this point lol.

As I’m pushing the absolute limits of my CB300F, this question pops into my head.

Light, tossable with excellent handling and responsiveness. Low on power, a momentum vehicle. Reliable and endless aftermarket support. Miata is always the answer.

What’s the equivalent motorcycle?

I ride a 2020 Suzuki Katana. Recently while in 1st gear the dash does not display correctly. Often it will just be blank instead of showing gear 1. Occasionally instead of showing blank it will read something incorrect like gear 3. The actual shifting appears fine and im not getting any weird symptoms while riding like false neutrals that aren't my fault or it popping out of gear under load. Does anyone know what might be causing this? If it is reading gear 1 correctly sometimes if I depress the shifter it is enough to make it go blank.
