How many in here drive with their SO, each with their own bike? And do you like intercoms then?

Upvotes

I read about pillions, and commonly the woman compromising. Though, in our situation, I am the man and I followed my fiance. She rides since couple years, including track and competitions, and I got bitten by that and ride now as well.

What I wonder though, how many ride with their partner, each on their own bike, and then also how many use an intercom to talk to eachother then?

We personally love the communication aspect. To be able to talk to eachother when riding. Not sure if that is the majority notion here.

What do you guys usually do when you are stopped in traffic?

I'm usually just checking my mirrors to make sure no one is gonna hit me in the ass and pretty much minding my own business!

Are cardos & comms more trouble then they are worth

Got a bike, thought to myself:

wouldn’t it be cool to listen to music ?

wouldn’t it be cool to talk to 15 other people on an intercom?

Wouldn’t it be cool to say “hey Cardo call 911” if I wreck and am missing a leg?

Sure, all that had merits… except the other thing no one talks about… always feeling “connected” 24/7

Notification dings, calls, text messages, still fully plugged into the matrix…

my wife seems to think a motorcycle with a Cardo is the same thing as driving a car… she sends me 10 texts a ride talking about her day, what’s for dinner, what do you wanna do this weekend?

And then somehow I’m supposed to magically reply back as I’m holding onto bars on a naked bike going 85 down the highway

Sometimes I feel like not only ditching the Cardo but leaving my phone itself at home and going ghost… but that’s not “safe” cause what if something happens etc

Bonneville won't idle cold

2003 triumph t100 with carbs. I cant get it to idle when cold at all. I seem to need to turn the idle adjustment very far, and run it on choke for a couple minutes before it'll idle without the choke. Then once warm, I need to turn the idle way down since it'll be idling at like 2k rpm at the idle setting it needs to warm up.

I would assume that if the jets were clogged, id have issues not just when cold. Thoughts?

Can I ship a frame *with title* on eBay? Why do all the frames appear to have no title?

07 cbr1000rr

How much is a straight, no corrosion frame with a clean 22k mile frame worth - $800?

And can I just sign the title and ship it with the frame, or is that against some law or policy? Wondering cause all the other frames seem to come with no title

For those that quit riding, what was the final straw?

I’ve been riding now for 17 years and still ride daily. In that time, I’ve owned around 10 different motorcycles and/or scooters. I’ve used motorcycles as my only form of transportation for nearly 7 years. Been in accidents, seen accidents, and everything else that comes along with motorcycling.

I’ve talked to some older guys and they say, “I used to be just like you, but I gave up riding….”

So, for those that finally gave up riding, was there a specific moment that you can remember? Or did you just fall out of love with it?

Any ideas for aftermarket AUX light setups for night riding?

The boys and I ride out late at night often, and ripping sharper turns is terrifying and not something I enjoy. I've been thinking about an auxiliary setup on the mirrors that intentionally shine broad light to the right and left. It's a sport bike, so I gotta account for lean angle.

We'd only do this on the 2 lane backroads where traffic isn't common that time of night so I'm not too worried about turning them on and off for traffic. Might consider wiring them into the high beam switch and just creating an additional toggle switch.

Anyway, wanting to pick thoughts on setups anyone has that accomplish this task. I've seen a lot, but I don't want to throw hundreds at a speculation. I want to see what's working!

'08 CB250 Nighthawk. Damn. It's not hurt and I'm not hurt but I get to wait for the new shift lever to come in.

Update: Shifter still fucked but the transmission shifts fine. Yay for gentle lessons.

Do motorcycles lose a ton of value?

Was looking at a few options of trading in my 2025 Honda CB750 Hornet with 2700 miles. One dealership offered me $4k and Powersport Buyers offered $2800 for a straight sale to them. MSRP a year ago to the day was $7999. I keep my bike pristine and refuse to believe in 1yr it’s lost 50% of the value

Hey everyone, just wanted to post my new project. Pretty new to bikes, I only have a ‘65 trail 90 besides this. It’s definitely a project, sat for about 7 years with crappy gas in the tank, so the tank needs a lot of help inside. Would love any suggestions for tank clean out, going to try BB’s/acetone and then evapo-rust.

Very nice looking on the outside other than the broken front turn signal mounts. It does run pretty good on an external fuel source, but I’ll probably go through the carbs anyway. Very excited to tackle this!

Who's riding after ACDF and how's it going for you?

What do you ride? If you're on a cruiser, what handlebar/riser setup are you using? I'm on an older fxst. Around town is ok but at open throttle on the highway the vibration from the solid mounted engine starts to become noticeable quickly in the neck and fingertips. The forward controls make me feel like I'm always slouching too, even when I'm not.

I had my atgatt moment yesterday

Let's say by admitting I was dumb. I'm currently going through a divorce, haven't slept properly for over a month, my head is full of bad thoughts. It was my first proper ride for weeks. I started out by riding very chill, then the twisties came and instinct took over. Accelerated hard out of a right hander, onto a top of a hill, where the next left took me by surprise. Instead of looking for a way out, I braked hard, full on target fixation. Left the pavement at around 90kph, lowsided, and dropped the bike mid air - luckily, as it slides into the bushes, right next to a tree. I slid for about 20 meters, tumbling all the way. When I stopped, I ran, hit the kill switch and started to breathe.

I had full gear on. My helmet has major scratches, and I have some whiplash - my head hit the ground first, face down - the milliseconds to fall felt like minutes, when I had a great chance to observe the ground closing in. The bike's front is a mess, headlight broke, handlebar twisted, mirror gone. I was still able to ride home with a buddy in front.

If I not had my gear on, I'd be shorter with a few layers of skin, and my head would be bashed. If there was a tree in front, I don't even want to know. I have a small wound on my leg, my right thigh and shoulder hurts. Nothing major. The bike can be fixed.

Lesson learnt, or at least new fear unlocked. No rides when my head is full of things. No rides when I haven't slept well. And no rides without gear. Ever.

Stay safe, everyone!

Anyone used CAMECHO brand Android Auto/Carplay device?

I looked at this model on Amazon for CAD $75. The price is low enough that I won't cry if it fails, but high enough that I don't want to buy known junk.

I know that there are a ton of these on the market at wide price points, and I think most likely 80% of them are exactly the same product, but you never know. Wondering if anyone has used this model or at least this 'manufacturer'

I just got this bike, almost new, and after 2 days of having it, the display will only turn on if the motor is running, and the motor indicator is lit up. I have chanrged the battery too. This is my first bike, so im a beginner at this kinda stuff, so i dont really know what to do here.

Found a new POV, way cooler than expected!

Spent the weekend messing around with a few weird mounting spots and angles on the bike with my insta360 x6.

Honestly, some of the shots turned out way more interesting than I expected. Exported this full bubble view just for fun, and the tree reflections on my helmet visor look pretty wild too!

What do you guys think of it?

What do you do when going to the gym?

How do you dress up when going to the gym? I am ATGATT and even a 15 minute ride to the gym I wear my gear. This gym doesn’t have a shower (small group training) therefore that’s not an option, to those who do it, how do you not get disgusted by your gear every second use after leaving the gym sweaty? Especially the helmet. My girlfriend recommends I don’t use my gear as I’m a “safe rider” but I strongly disagree. Not on the fact that I’m a safe rider but on going no gear. And no comments about her please, she is amazing and is just trying to find the best solution. She doesn’t fully understand motorcycling and my cousins don’t take gear seriously either. So I’m trying to set the right example

Weird tire wear question

First motorcycle and the tire wear looks weird as it’s kinda “shredding” on the sides, especially the front where some of it is uneven. Does anybody know why?
