im looking at bikes, new rider here, and this one has really caught my eye. ive got a cb300f from 2015 right now and im abou ready to upgrade it.

this slc 500 looks sick and like a great upgrade. im wondering why it isn't talked about or why it doesnt seem popular, given the rebel's position as the default entry level cruiser.

is there something im missing about it, or is it just not popular? like does it have some major downside im missing?

On a long moto trip and one of my bags came a little loose. Looks like it rubbed against my back tire and I’m a bit worried about sharp right turns. Although, I am not usually leaning that far I don’t think.

2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000

The tires are at the correct PSI, I’ve checked the chain and it’s at spec. What else could be causing it, and is this scraping sound when spinning the rear tire anything?

At 75-80mph there will be a pulsing vibration every second and it’s the same consistent vibration. Comes and goes every second or two and shakes the handlebars slightly. Thank you for any help, I just don’t know what I’m looking at.

I have a 2005 Honda VTX 1800 with small amount of fuel in air filter compartment. I also smell fuel in oil. I have not risen since I discovered this, so I feel fairly confident it hasn’t caused any cylinder wall issues.

The problem I’m having is researching the issue. Everything I find talks about ‘fuel pressure regulator’. Images, manuals and exploded diagrams show the fuel pressure regulator coming off of the fuel rail. It looks like an in-line filter with a nipple at both ends. But my bike is fuel injected and does not have a fuel pressure regulator in the area, nor does it have anything that looks like the diagrams.

After several ChatGPT prompt changes, it finally said “your model does not have this type of pressure regulator”

I’m asking for some help on solving the fuel in air box from someone with first had experience.

Supposedly, I have a small ‘coin sized’ diaphragm under the fuel rail, but I have no photos, diagrams or videos to guide me on a plan of attack and solution.

Anyone out there with experience that’s willing to provide detailed guidance or resource links???

After almost a year of riding, with most of it being non highway riding with emphasis on controlling the bike at low speeds, cornering, and clutch control, with some 2 up riding and wheelies (which Ik doesn't account for anything). The main things I was looking for was something around 90-120 horsepower, with comfortable ergos because I have some back issues, something that can do 2 up riding easier, and lastly, something unique. I've researched into these bikes and they are extremely reliable and the one I got only has 11k miles. I just wanted to share my story so far and be open to others experiences and thoughts.

Edit: wanted to add that I bought this bike for the exact same price I sold my r3 for. From what little I've ridden the bike so far (I couldn't keep the PO plate because it was a veteran plate and there's a tropical storm coming where I live) I love the bike, the sound, the ergos. I'm looking forward to riding it once this tropical storm finally goes away

I read about pillions, and commonly the woman compromising. Though, in our situation, I am the man and I followed my fiance. She rides since couple years, including track and competitions, and I got bitten by that and ride now as well.

What I wonder though, how many ride with their partner, each on their own bike, and then also how many use an intercom to talk to eachother then?

We personally love the communication aspect. To be able to talk to eachother when riding. Not sure if that is the majority notion here.

I looked at this model on Amazon for CAD $75. The price is low enough that I won't cry if it fails, but high enough that I don't want to buy known junk.

I'm getting good suction. When Im running above idle the fuel will eventually run dry in one of the filter bulbs right before the carburetor then the other. (duel carb) I have the correct petcock and have all the lines attached correctly. What could be causing this. Is it possible the fuel air mix is off and its pulling way to much fuel? It is idleing just fine.

Does "bad" rust even exist or am I making that term up??

First ever bike - 2025 Honda Shadow 750cc - and the owner’s manual said first service is to be done at 600 miles, including a valve inspection. Well, I’m at the 600 mile mark and I called up a bike dealer/mechanic and he quoted me $400 for valve inspection and $350 for oil changes and all the other stuff. I was expecting wayyyy less and I definitely can’t afford $750 right now so what do you guys think of this price and am I being scammed ?

Ironically, despite being a fan of classic-style motorcycles, I had never really had the chance to ride a bike for any decent distance without LED lighting, ABS, or alloy wheels. I had always relied on those and other modern features to feel comfortable on the road—until I got the opportunity to take this V7 Racer III, courtesy of a friend who doesn't use Reddit, up to the Verapaces.

On top of that, I had deliberately avoided racing-style motorcycles out of fear that the riding position would simply be too uncomfortable. To my surprise, though, it wasn't nearly as punishing as I had initially imagined. That said, it did force me to stop more often than usual.

Now, with that being said, once you're sitting on it, there's something about that aggressive riding position that DEMANDS THAT YOU ACCELERATE, show off that red frame on the road, and forget for a moment that there's a world beyond the asphalt opening ahead under the amber glow of that halogen headlight.

2003 triumph t100 with carbs. I cant get it to idle when cold at all. I seem to need to turn the idle adjustment very far, and run it on choke for a couple minutes before it'll idle without the choke. Then once warm, I need to turn the idle way down since it'll be idling at like 2k rpm at the idle setting it needs to warm up.

I would assume that if the jets were clogged, id have issues not just when cold. Thoughts?

This was a few weeks ago. I was chilling at a gas station and saw this big group 20+ come in and talked to 2 of them asking what it’s about and it was just a group page. I asked if I can join when they go up but since I don’t know them well I stayed at the far back. What’s crazy is I told myself I would never ride in big groups for reasons of different rider skill levels and this reinforced my reasoning. We made a stop later on and asked if the guy was ok and he said yes and was blaming it on road conditions but on the video the road is completely fine. I actually gave a big gap between us before this incident because on every corner they were counter leaning and significantly slowing down. Also there was another 4 motorcyclist behind me unrelated to the group that’s why I looked to my right. I would have pointed out the skill gap but I don’t know the person well enough and I was not down to get a whole group against me due to unknown egos. They seemed like very nice people though but I don’t want to be that back seat driver but I wish I still let one of the guys know but didn’t. Later on when we kept going I tried to stay in the middle of the pack and break off on a different road because I don’t want to risk seeing an actual crash. My only regret was not letting someone else know and I hope that all the group got home safe.

Recently I have had terrible experience with a MotoCop. To be perfectly honest it was probably my fault, but in all fairness I think his attitude was completely unwarranted and unprofessional.

Recently I finished early from work one afternoon and decided since it was around midday I would hit the local mountain for a chill little cruise on my new CBR500.

On this particular mountain there is a straight flat section that is about 700-800 metres long. I stupidly decided to do a small pull considering the road was completely clear and I could clearly see the whole road in front of me. I only did a little 3rd gear flick from 50kph and wasn't really checking my speed. Next thing I know from deep in the bushes on the other side of the road I see the red and blue lights. I immediately knew it was for me as there was literally NO ONE on the road. I pull over straight away to avoid any issues and just see if I can maybe reduce the damage my wallet was about to receive.

This particular cop pulls up behind me and before I can even say hello, he is immediately in my face screaming at me about my speeding and how I was endangering everyone on the road around me (Just me and Him on the road). Then he gives me my speed 83 in a 60 (Fair, That's on me). Then he starts pacing around my bike and starts listing everything that was wrong with my bike (purchased 2nd hand). Listing that my mirrors were a defect, my exhaust was a defect and my tail tidy which doesn't have a reflector was a defect.

I tried to explain that I had only bought it a couple weeks ago from someone and I didn't have the original parts. To which he responded "wasn't his problem". And started writing me fines that ended up being around $3k all up, plus now I have to get all the original parts to replace the aftermarket ones. Then when he was done preceded to say "have a good one" after f**king me.

Was this warranted, Was he having a bad day, Was I the way to reach the qouta or did he decide to give me no grace?

This interaction has completely ruined my perception of highway patrol, And I was so confused because everywhere I look online most people seem to have great experiences with motocops. Has anyone else had a negative experience with them?

But I'm more talking about their professionalism and attitude then the tickets. And y'all acting like you have never done the exact same as I have in this situation.

This just really confuses me because aren’t they expected to chase someone if needed? Are these guys not provided gear or not allowed to wear it?

The boys and I ride out late at night often, and ripping sharper turns is terrifying and not something I enjoy. I've been thinking about an auxiliary setup on the mirrors that intentionally shine broad light to the right and left. It's a sport bike, so I gotta account for lean angle.

We'd only do this on the 2 lane backroads where traffic isn't common that time of night so I'm not too worried about turning them on and off for traffic. Might consider wiring them into the high beam switch and just creating an additional toggle switch.

Anyway, wanting to pick thoughts on setups anyone has that accomplish this task. I've seen a lot, but I don't want to throw hundreds at a speculation. I want to see what's working!

Can anyone identify this bike? It kinda looks like the tank says "Enfield" but I've not been able to find a royal Enfield that looks like this.
