Recently picked up an sr25 K3 for my KAC collection and I’m very mixed on what path i should take my brother wants me to go full bore DMR with an mark 5, I’m much more make it a battle rifle and have fun with it. Any suggestions I’m actually quite fond of the new sig 8TAMR setup and the new KAC 7.62 crs1 can, with a bi pod it would be great for medium range but not gonna lie a mark 5 would be a bad dude

My very first large frame gas gun That I ever shot was a JP Enterprises, LRP – 07 with the LR I – 20 upper. It was chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and I really wanted to shoot one after watching Frank’s video on it years ago. I decided to build my own, but I wanted it chambered in 25 Creedmoor. I had Paul Ross chamber and contour a CRB Barrel. I’ve only shot this rifle to function test and get the gas setting right and I did some initial accuracy testing once I got my zero but unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of that. I’m not the best shot but with 134 grain Hornady match ammo I was able to get right around 3/4MOA for 8 shots(I know it was random, but I only brought one box with me and that was all I had left over after getting everything else set up)
JP Large frame semi auto chassis system with a 17.25 inch rapid configuration handguard
LMOS BCG
Standard AR-10 SCS
BAD Ambi safety
Triggertech diamond flat single stage
24” 1:7.5 twist CRB in 25 creed 1.20” don’t 1.075 before the gas block, .936 gas block journal and .930 at the muzzle, threaded 5/8x24
Hawkins updraft brake 1” 6.5mm bore
Area 419 17” arca lock rail
Magpul PRS gen 3
MKM precision crossover grip with RH thumb shelf
Warne skyline 34mm 20moa cantilever mount
Tract 4-25x50
Accu-tac SR5 gen 2 with arca clamp
I’ve just done function testing to get the gas set just right with the JP adjustable gas block. I also got my zero answer preliminary accuracy testing which unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of. But with my shooting ability, I was able to get it to around .75 moa. A more competent shooter would definitely be able to get those groups a lot smaller.

What would u choose and why?
What brand is better in reliability and quality?
H&k or Daniel Defense when choosing a ar10

Anyone use a 16 WC recon barrel for the 6.5? Looking to get one to swap out my 20” and looking for input from folks who have them and actually shoot them.
Edited to add:
If anyone has any other suggestions for a quality 16” in the $300-400 range I’d like to hear them.

Hi folks. Here's my AR-10. It's from a Russian local manufacturer called Kurbatov. DI, 20-inch barrel, DPMS receiver. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.
P.s. distance on the second photo was 300 meters (around 328 yards)

Was running this kak adjustable has block on my ar10 which has no more than 500 round thru it. Was doing some short range drills yesterday and it turned into a single shot after a couple mags.
Using a 12.5 kak barrel and polo 30. Also using this gas block on my 300 bo but I doubt that will have any issues since I only run subs on that one.

I took this comp off a used 6.5 and was going to put it on a .308 but the bore looked small so I decided to check it. Anyone ever seen a setup like this before? Glad i measured it before going any farther.
Edited for clarity.

Im using a 18" faxon gunner barrel with rifle length gas system and a faxon bcg. When pulling the trigger the round shoots but the casing doesnt eject. Is that a head spacing issue? Ive tried cutting off the gas completely and having it wide open with the same result. Upper reliever is an aero m5

I got this Juggernaut Tactical 12" handguard for my Gibbz Arms left-side charging upper, which is DPMS Low. I wish I had read the description a little better and saw that it said "high profile" because the rail turned out to be like 0.055" taller than my DPMS Low upper. It's really nice though, so I'm hoping to get some help with just a DPMS Low version.
I will not switch to a DPMS High receiver. My FAL-style left-side charging is non-negotiable.

Caught your attention eh? I'm going to be working on my first AR10 build but I'm coming her from AK building. I've assembled AR-15's before and I'm gonna be here because 5.56 is too "Death to Bunnies" and I want to stay 30 cal. Here's the problem. The AR platform is highly customizable and I want to take advantage of that. So instead of a full build kit minus buying the lower through a dealer, where do YOU go to get custom-ish parts? I don't want mine looking like I could have just bought it off the rack, I'm looking for options.
Dealers, websites preferred and places to order some interesting parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I picked up some federal 150gr ammo and used the same exact setup as I did in my last post except the ammo and I was very happy with the results this time. I got around 0.625-0.70 inch groups compared to my 2.2-2.4 inch groups I got with the hand loads. It’s safe to say it’s not a gun issue but ammo issue.

Built this SBR with an 11.5” v seven harbinger barrel cut to 10.5”, centurion receivers and BCG, super safety, geissele SSA-e, BG defense type A 10” quad, and a faxon 30 cal inconel flow through I got on a trade.

My other 308 lowers have the rear td springs coming up from under the grip.
This one needs a much longer spring because of the distance from the rear hole to the takedown pin. IIRC, this matches the DPMS gen 1 style. If Im wrong, apologies, been a few years since Ive done this.
Ive ordered a couple Lpk's and the td springs aren't close to being long enough to work. I used two springs and it kind of works but that seems pretty jenky to me.
Does anyone have a similar lower setup and know of an lpk or td/td springs for sale that will work.
Again, not interested in making something that can work. Looking to buy something designed to work.
Thanks

I bought a DPMS 18" rifle gas with FSB a couple years ago because I wanted the "battle rifle" look. I installed all Magpul furniture on it (rifle handguard, MOE rifle stock) and an Eotech 512. It's alright for what it is. I'm between 3 things
- keep it as it is
- change to an a5 system to shorten the LOP a bit
- Sell it for the sabre
Either way I want to get a Flow 762 for it and the other 308 I have. This definitely isn't a long range gun for me as I have that need met with the other gun. But I still want a semi-auto 308 to play with.
Thoughts?

Looking for a 16-20 in ar10 upper in either 308 or 6.5 not sure yet. I’m probably blanking for no reason but just looking for any input on some more quality but affordable uppers say under or around 1k? Thanks in advance.

Ok I am set on an SBR AR-10, would like to have a gun I can both hunt hogs with and also run and gun in an all day class with something with a bit more kick than a 556. Sounds like a blast to me. The gun will almost always be for shooting within 200 yards. Don't need precision / long range. Have / will have other guns for that.
So I am looking for a balance between being lightweight ish that I can hold while hunting but also that can handle shooting 250 rounds in a class and not overheat. I know 300 Blackout would probably be more appropriate though I really want the bang bang feeling of the 308 for this gun..
Price Point:
I normally am a buy once cry once type of person and have my sights on the HK762 13 inch however that one is not in the cards for a bit so looking for a best functioning value. I am open to anything under $2500, would be great to be closer to $1000. Probably going to wait until Black Friday or until I see a deal I can't turn down, no rush but want it sooner than later.
Suppressors:
I have a Alleycat 762 Inconel (ODB style) that I can use and a Dirty Dave and/or Akbar are on my immediate list. I will probably always shoot the gun surpressed. Super open to any other recommendations if you have them though I do like the Cat ecosystem.
Optics:
- Have a pretty solid LVPO I would put on this or it may be Eotech + Magnifier or swap back and forth.
A few options I am considering:
12.5 Inch PSA Sabre. Short Barrel, is this a terrible idea with a dedicated can? They also have a 13.7 or .9 that could work. I like the color scheme of the 12.5
Tavor 7, on sale for $1450 right now. It's 16 inch though I think the way the weight is distributed as a bullpup. I know it has it's quirks but just looks like a cool gun to have.
Daniel Defense DD5 SBR - Not usually drawn to DD but this gun looks well put together, and I think it's a contender for me. Right now, It's around $2400. I would need to go down a bit for me to bite on this one, too close to HK, LMT etcetera to make sense at $2400.
Build one
- Is it that complicated to build a nice AR-10 under $2K? Is that the way to go? What barrel do you recommend for this use case? Wouldn't mind buying mostly premium parts depending what it added up to, just want it to run. I don't have a ton of time for the build but I do have a great gunsmith who would put it together for me for first round.
Was semi interested in Ruger SFAR or POF Revolution but I think both have barrels that are too thin for what I'm looking for.
What else?? Any advice is much appreciated
